My experience with Beauty Clinic Simone was not satisfying to say the least.
My appointment was initially yesterday. I had never been to the place and do not live nearby. I arrived 10-15 minutes late. The receptionist told me to take a seat. I was literally the only person in the place. There was no other customer. The nail technician(s) were curiously absent. I was a bit puzzled but gave it no mind. I had been told to seat and wait after all. Nothing could go wrong, right?
After waiting for 5-10min, a woman enter the clinic. A customer, perhaps? No. She remove her coat and drop her coffee on the reception counter. My little heart flutter and warm up. "Great", I think, "someone is going to take me." And that's when my hope are shattered. The woman summarily informed me that my appointment will have to rescheduled. Why? Because I was late.
After arguing way less than I should have in retrospect, I agreed to book an appointment for the following day. Before moving on to my actual experience, I'd like to come back on something.
When I asked the woman if there was truly no way for me to be taken, she initially said that the place was going to close soon before telling me that she was fully booked. Here comes the catch, my appointment was on Saturday at 4:30. I arrived at ~4:40. By the time, the nail technician arrived, it was ~4:50. Beauty Clinic Simone closes at 9pm exept on Sundays. So yeah, customer services is not exactly Beauty Clinic Simone's forte.
Now, flash-forward to today. I had some acrylic nails done about three weeks ago in need of a little touch-up, so I came to do a refill. The woman who took care of my nail today was the same I had met the previous day. The job she did on me was alright. However, I was dismayed when I was informed that my nail polish was to be dried by the flow of fresh air instead of a professional drier. I was told "it would be dry in 15 minutes". Honestly, I have gone to nail salons in both England and France. That's the first time I attend a nail salon where customers aren't allowed to have their nail polish dried with professional driers.
I was even more dismayed when I was informed that my refill cost £35! I mean if I pay for £35 for a refill, I expect a stellar job where I am not told to wait for fresh air to dry my nail polish.
I guess it's a bit of my fault, when I booked my initial appointment, I didn't ask for the price. While saying this, I must admit that I could find no card or leaflet in the clinic on which the prices were written either! Now looking at their website, perhaps what they call "Gel Nail Infill" is their refill. All good except that it is written " you will be treated with a hand massage using Honey & Soy Butter infused with Vitamin E that helps to regenerate damaged skin cells." I did not receive such massage. After the nail technician was done with my nail polish, I was told to sit somwhere else to wait for my nail polish to dry and so that she could take care of another customer.
Here, we arrived to the crux of this review. Why am I given the clinic only one star? Why do I seem so annoyed? Just look at the two pictures attached. My appointment today was at 1pm. I left the clinic around 2:30pm. I did not put my hand under water, I did not wash the dishes. I did not do anything involving my hands. At the time I'm writing this review, it is exactly 6:51pm. So why do two of my nail already look like they need touch up (see pics)? Maybe because they didn't dry properly asa professional drier was not used or/and the nail technician may have applied too much product.
To finish this review, I will end on a somewhat positive note. The place is calm and quiet. Besides, I did not have to wait at all for the nail technician to take me. I had an appointment and it was respected. I just wish new clients were taken as seriously as existing ones. read more
