This is my first time at the salon. It came at the recommendation of a friend who has been there before. I usually frequent Soho, but the last couple of times that I've been there they've been in a hurry to get done with my services so they could move onto the next. I don't remember the names of the ladies that helped me out today, but I got a mani/pedi and it was wonderful. The price was fantastic as well. I'm not sure why folks are saying that it's on the higher end of Bloomington, I found it to be less expensive than other places. My nails look great and the place was super clean and very welcoming. This is a nice, spacious, clean place. They can generally get you in without too much wait. I've had mixed results when getting designs, but I am always happy with a standard gel or dip mani/pedi. They do seem to do plenty of design nails but benefit from photos and certain techs are more skilled than others. They try to serve more than one person at a time, it is not ethical, she stood from one side to the other, because she was giving me a pedicure for another lady and I dyed them mine a complete disaster!!! Beauty Max Studio is a newer nail salon in Bloomington but by far the best I have ever visited! I have gotten my nails done here multiple times and they always turn out exactly how I wanted them. Every nail tech I've had as paid such close attention to detail and checked to make sure I was happy along each step of the process. I don't feel judged or rushed here and they have always been able to take me as a walk in (or call ahead a couple minutes before walking in). Prices aren't bad either and I'm pretty sure they gave me a student discount for being an IU student. I'm getting my nails done again soon with more of a design so I can update how they turn out. Definitely worth a visit! read more

This is an excellent nail salon. Lily is the best. Prices are average. $30 for pedicure and $10 hot stone. Thirty (30%) off October. Twenty (20%) off November and December. Let me start by saying - very disappointed in these people- I really liked this place and purchased 3 gift certificates for 3 children as Christmas gifts - I called and made a 4 appointment for one more pedicure as one more child asked to go and join the others. With this I sent a credit card for the 4th child. The young boy is on the spectrum.. he was given a menu The nail tech coached him to up grade his pedicure service What was a 35 dollar pedicure ended up being 90 dollars - When I stopped there after to question the charge - all they did was laugh and said they did the service - ( it did not matter if he did not understand) They took advantage of this child. Pathetic and sad what this nail tech did and how the owner handled it. We won't ever be going there again ! read more

STAY AWAY! Sliced my finger open twice! Cut my nail beds in 3 different places and made me bleed. Sliced open my finger with the nail file on two fingers. Used twice as much glue on the tips than necessary and my flesh is still glued to the nails. The shape is horrible and Lumpy and crooked. I have chicklet gum for THUMBS! Not professional dip set w terribly executed design. Inconsistent shape. Spent 3 hours in there seemed like they had never done a dip set before in their life. Left unfinished too sharp corners on coffin shaped dip set. Although My friend had a fine and beautiful fill. Did not clean the edges. Left with polish all over the nail bed. Overcharged me 70 dollars for a dip set with a design. Listed price is 45. Not manicured. Kept cleaning up mistakes as they went along. Dipped my nails wayyyy too many times. Just gave me a regular top coat no UV light finish. It's fine if someone cannot do a service. Tell me what you are capable of and I am willing to pay. But if someone cannot execute the service requested simply say so and we can work something out. When I called and complained they did offer to fix it for free. I understand They are a new business and are understaffed but $70 dollars was completely over priced for the nails I walked away with. read more

Ok so on the 12th this month August 2021 I went in for a full set. Once acknowledged I was greeted with an eerie how are you. Then proceeded to be told that they didn't have time to do mine and my friends nails but they have time to do one so I chose to go being the only one with no nails on. This by far was fine. It wasn't until I was sitting there for over an hour that I started getting little uneasy anyone who gets their nails done knows that for the most part it takes an hour roughly to do a full set that is fresh. I was there for over 2 hours getting clear gel nails that ended up being $60. Yeah you heard right 60 dollars for CLEAR GEL!!!!!! Not to mention the nail tech that was doing my nails was not communicative at all I watch TV the whole time and in a whole 2 hour. Not once did she allow me up to wash my hands even after I was charged the $60 fee I still tipped her with no cuticle oil she didn't do my cuticles no nothing but $60 plus a tip for CLEAR GEL nails n her defense she did offer me a bottle of water that I also saw no one else got offered anything to drink not only do I feel like this nail shop is unorganised and never will go to them again but they are extremely overpriced for something a toddler could have done. Ripped off doesn't even start to describe the way that I feel never in my life have I encountered something like this at a nail shop and I always pay for what I want and I always tip maybe they should stop assuming certain people tip in certain ones don't. read more

Jenny took her time and didn't rush through my pedicure; she gave my feet the TLC they desperately needed and even made sure they remained nice while drying -which by the way they brought a foot dryer to the seat so I got to stay with my massage chair and relax some more. i will definitely be coming back!! read more

All of the staff are so welcoming and genuinely want you to have a good experience. The volcano pedicure is amazing for the price and the hot stone massage is great as well! I've been to this place twice. I've gotten full sets with gel both times and every time I've left, immediately my nails will break. The second time, it was 1 day before one of them broke. It's been about a week since I got my fill in and 4 of them have broken off. The nail tips don't seem to be strong at all. Other places I've gone, I could slam my nail in the kitchen drawer and it still wouldn't break. I'm not sure if I am going to go here again. read more

This place is beyond spotless. My technician is Jenny. Not only has Jenny made my feet young again after years of cracked misery, she gives fantastic massages. This place is also extremely COVID safe. They take your temperature when you walk in. And the massage chairs are awesome! read more

I went in last month for a pedicure and eye brow wax. Eye brow wax was the best I've ever had done. And almost painless! Pedicure was amazing too - my feet were so soft and the gel polish stayed on for a long time (except nails growing out). I will def be back when I get the time to sit and relax there. I was offered water and the ladies were very friendly. The salon is very clean and well lit. The massage chairs were great. I can't say enough good things about this nail salon! The shop is immaculate, they are very professional, their prices are comparable to other salons and in some cases even less expensive and they do take appointments. That being said, if you make an appointment I would suggest you arrive five minutes early and make it clear that you have a schedule to follow. The only fault they have is that they sometimes will be running behind because they do also take walk-ins which can put them behind for scheduled appointments. My own personal preference for staff is Lily for pedicures and May for acrylic fill-ins; however, I have used other staff in the past and they've done a fine job. On a sidenote, they do also have massage therapy available. I have not used that service, but I have heard from other customers that they really like it. Stopped by for a quick manicure. The facilities were incredibly clean and parking was easy. Upon entry, staff checked temperature and requested that we use hand sanitizer. I received a gel manicure and I am very happy with the results! My nail tech, Lily, was so attentive and patient. Manicures usually don't last on my nails for longer than 2-3 days because of my oily nail beds, but this one has lasted 5 days and is still going strong! I look forward to returning. read more
