my wife and I made a 1030 appointment to get pedicures together. We wanted 11 o'clock and they told us to be there at 10:30 AM. When we got there, they took my wife at 10:40 and said it would be five more minutes before they could seat me. After waiting an additional 20 minutes and watching my wife getting her pedicure done I walked out. We will never go back because they can't keep an appointment. The whole idea was to have my wife and I get pedicures together. It wasted my morning and now part of my afternoon. read more

This place sucks. We reserved mani pedi services five days ahead for eight women on a Saturday morning. They were happy to take our business and even called to confirm the day before. We walked in and surprise! We only had two techs for our confirmed party of eight. Awesome. Most of our time was spent waiting. Multiple women in our group received poor service. My tech left a whole centimeter unpainted at the bed of my nail despite three requests for her to paint down to the line. She finally attempted to after I persisted... and she painted my cuticle. I pointed it out to her and she shrugged. She then removed the polish and polished my toe nail again, leaving a centimeter unpainted. Ridiculous. I then told the tech I was going to wear close toed shoes and socks, and I wanted to make sure it didn't ruin my pedi. She told me to go sit under the dryer for a while. What?! Despite sitting under the dryer for a half hour, my polish was rubbed off in spots and had a sock imprint. Their pedicure is not worth it. It's essentially a soak, a polish change, and a couple minutes of a foot rub. My mother's polish for her mani was almost completely dried out. It was insanely clumpy as the tech applied it. My mom looked at me with a look of "help me!" She had already told the tech she thought the polish was not good, but the tech ignored her and continued to use it anyway. It looked awful! Again, just ridiculous. The tech changed the polish only after I came over and pointed out that it was dry. It was incredibly awkward to point out something so obvious to a "professional." My friend said she wanted gel with tips. They didn't do gel and literally glued some artificial tips on them painted her nails. There was a bump on each nail where the tip started. She's too shy to say anything. I feel like they were playing a joke on us it was just so bad. read more

Very pleased with my gel manicure. I had gone to this location a few years ago but changed to VIP and Number 1 nails in Dubuque for quality reasons. Not sure when ownership changed but went again and so glad to be local again. A lot of choices in brand and colors, they do powder dip too. read more

We had reservations for 2 pedicures arrived to 1 tech who was not very friendly. She took a dremel to my toe for no flipping reason that I could tell. I said "Oh that hurt!" no response. We ended up faking an emergency handing her $20 and bailing as fast as possible before she started on the 2nd person and before I was finished. She was PAINFUL! I have to say the owner tries, I went back again because this is the ONLY nail salon in Galena that does the powder dip, she really did her best to match the color I needed and fixed my cracked nails for next to nothing$. I had a great experience. They closed at 6:30 so I came in 5. They couldn't fit me in right away so they asked me to come back at 6:15. They stayed open an extra 30 minutes to take care of my needs. It was clean and they did a great job. I'll definitely return. read more

The absolute worst manicure I have ever gotten. Completely ruined my nails on my first day of vacation. Made me bleed twice and completely buffed through the top of one of my nails. So incredibly disappointed. Take the extra time and go to one of the day spas in town or wait until you get home. Awful. read more

Overall not a great experience. Went in for a no chip French manicure. 3 of my fingers were bleeding by the cuticles before I was done. With one finger, I could literally hear the skin ripping off. Then on another finger, the girl paints over the blood that is left on my finger nail instead of cleaning the blood off first before applying the clear polish! The next day, 2 of my nails have some of the white chipped off the top. I now have 3 hideous and large scabs by my cuticles. I wasn't very happy and I will not be going back. It was the Saturday of Valentines Day weekend and my husband and I were in Galena to get away...I called around 11 to make an appointment for the afternoon. I was hoping to make it work with our 7pm dinner reservations. This site stated their hours were until 5. I asked if 4pm was too late for 2 pedis, a mani and a no chip. They said yes and asked about 2:30. Reluctantly, I agreed even tho that left us quite some time to kill. About 10 min later, they called me back asking if we could come at 2 (they knew of our dinner reservations). I said no, but was willing to maybe come the next day. They jumped in quickly with an opening for 4:30. I gladly accepted. We got there and it was clean. People were friendly. After getting in to the pedicure bowls (which scalded us! It was boiling hot!), my husband asked about the upgrades to the services because I always take longer. They declined due to time restraints. Disappointed, but understandable because at this point it 5pm (they were not ready for us). My husband and I discussed openly how that made no sense because I take much longer and they are there anyway, but whatever. My hubby was disappointed that his pedi took half the time mine did and the massage was not even 2 min long. The tech flies thru his mani right after. All this time, I am still getting a pedicure. Keep in mind I go every 2 weeks so my feet are not bad and this is a glorified polish change. The woman then jumps over to polish. I offer to upgrade to a no chip polish to save drying time for them. During this time (about an hour), my nails are wrapped and I am soaking off my no chip...FOR AN HOUR! So they go to finally take off the no chip and it is so overly sensitive tears are in my eyes. They continue to try to get it off and tell me my polish was cheap so they have to file it off. It was gelish. In severe pain, they continue. Barely touching my cuticles and again....it's not a soothing manicure. Polish change at best. The polish I chose was horribly streaking and looked thinned already. She thins it more (which you should not do with a no chip in the first place). After 4 coats of polish (yes...my husband is sitting bored out of his wits for over an hour) I ask for the next layer to be a glitter to hide the crappy polish job. 30 second shorty massage to rub in some lotion. We left at 7:20. Missed our dinner reservations. and they charged us $120. We tipped $40 because we knew they stayed late. But afterward thinking about it, we should not have even paid full price let alone tip that well. I had to go home the next day and do my cuticles on both my hands and feet again. Oh...and I failed to mention that I just had recent foot surgery so one of my feet was basically just cuticles. So....I think they meant well...but we didn't get what we asked for by any means..... read more
