I've also seen other stylists photos of "full highlights vs. partial" and mine looks like it got dyed black with the occasional streaks of blonde. During the consultation, I mentioned wanting dimension and something low-maintenance, so I expected a slightly lighter or similar look. As the appointment went on, I realized my hair was being tinted black, but I trusted the process. In the end, my hair was basically black with a few blonde highlights and money pieces. She did give me a complimentary cut, which was nice, but the color wasn't what I asked for at all. Overall, I think there was a lack of communication. Her prices are very reasonable, but if I'm spending that much, I don't want to end up back at my natural hair color. If the blonde wasn't possible without damaging my hair, I would have appreciated a clear conversation before moving forward. I would've just waited and focused on hair health instead.
