We had great manhattan cocktails to start, the gem salad with blue cheese and thin bacon chips, beef tenderloin and black cod with big pieces of mushroom and wild rice. All filling and nicely prepared, a great meal after a strenuous hike.

When we arrived at the gated Lake Moraine road, we were yelled at by the Parks Canada gate attendant which left us shaken, but Rosie turned our day completely around! We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of the lodge. We were also asked if we needed help with our luggage. We asked if they were allowing canoeing, and she hooked it up for us right then even though we were the first of the season. Our room was stunning and they left a really nice welcome gift for us, a chocolate bar and two Moraine Lake Lodge water bottles (metal, super nice!). We loved our little fireplace and we could not believe the view from our room. I took a bath and I really liked how they give you a little bath cube from L'Occitane. Their bath products smell great! When I got out of the tub my fiancé came in carrying a bottle of champagne! He said the front desk staff was super nice in helping him set up the surprise. We had a great time sipping champagne and sitting on our porch. For dinner we ate in the dining room, and the service was very slow... I made eye contact with our server a couple of times to signal we were finished but she still took a long time to come to our table. We were there for more than two hours. The food was good though, just be aware that dinner is an occasion. We walked by the lake after dinner and it was great because there was no one there. The next morning, we got up super early but not early enough to avoid the tour buses. I think they come in at 4 a.m. and descend on the rockpile. That's one thing about staying here that's not ideal. You're sharing the lake, the cafe, and the gift shop with lots of tourists throughout the day. We could not even grab anything from the cafe because the line of tourists at 8 a.m. was so long. The complimentary breakfast was my favorite meal here but you do need a reservation. We asked the receptionist if we could get sandwiches to go ordered even though we missed the deadline, but she said no. It was a bummer- so definitely book reservations and ask for sandwiches in advance if you're not going to be there between 12:30-2 p.m. Our breakfast service was much better! They give you a pastry and fruit cups. It was the BEST PASTRY EVER. It was maple and we loved it; the server was kind enough to bring us another helping without us even asking. We both got a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and homestyle fries. Overall, we both had a great time but we definitely enjoyed the privacy of our balcony the most. If we had more days here we would have opted to sign up the guided hikes. There's not many other things to do here besides hike, read and relax with no pool, spa or fitness center but I do think when you consider having access to lake moraine, a complimentary breakfast and canoe ride, the price feels not as bad.

Our cell service was not letting us connect to the to roaming. I could not log in to my booking.Com account. We were pretty much flying blind after hitting the US/Canada border. We tried to notify Beaujolais Boutique of our late arrival. Long story they got it and replied. We were even later than we thought. Pete met us with the hospitality beyond measure. Immediately our mood lifted. What a beautiful place. Our Room was exactly at pictured but better. The bed was a cloud and we floated off to sleep. Upon waking and going downstairs for breakfast I know I thought I was still sleeping the food that Pete bought out form the kitchen for us was fantastic. Alex the magic maker in the kitchen did not disappoint. Three courses of just right as Goldy Locks says . You just need to spend 5 minutes with Pete and Alex and the genuine welcome you feel makes you somehow light on your feet for your travels for the rest of the day. BTW a guest also staying at Beaujolais fixed our issue with our phones . Good places draw great people. The view we saw out our balcony was stunning.

There are 211 rooms all with a private balcony or patio to enjoy the fresh mountain air & spectacular views of Banff National Park. There was an indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, and a tiny & very hot fitness corner. The Crave Mountain Grill served my daily buffet breakfast and dinner with cocktails. La Terrazza is the authentic Italian restaurant on the property while Bluebird is the steakhouse, we enjoyed a group dinner with 45 at Crave. Happy hour from 4:00 until 6:00 is in the terrace lounge. There were many shops, bike rentals & an art gallery in the hotel. We checked into room 107 for two nights. The room was clean, spacious & comfortable with two sinks, two queen beds, 2 chairs, a refrigerator and a safe. We had a sliding glass door to a large opened patio. There was a warning on the door, not to leave it open for our safety or comfort. There wasn't any furniture outside to sit on. This was not private, the patio was shared with many of the rooms. There was a concierge & a wall of pamphlets. We asked the concierge for a map & info about the springs. He couldn't answer our questions & didn't have a map; he referred me to the front desk. This was a busy hotel for tour groups; Globus, Backroads, Trafalgar were all moving in an out. There was NO air conditioning in the new wind. We were given a small fan that didn't do much. Our room was very hot and it was difficult to sleep in at night.

One night we just walked across the street and had a nice dinner at the Bluebird Steakhouse for example. It is also quite a large 3-story lodge and bigger than it first appears. Our room and bathroom were spacious. The only issue we had was the heater didn't seem to be doing much and when we queried about it and the thermostat, they provided us with a small space heater which did the job for us. The staff was very responsive. We also had two breakfasts in their Crave Mountain Grill restaurant and they were top notch quality. I'll go with 4.5 stars rounded up to 5 and I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Banff!
