I haven't changed my review for the Fairmont. But I am writing this update as a warning to anyone…read morewho purchases flavorite latés from here. When I came in the Summer of 2025, I noticed they use the 1883 Lavender syrup from France. Sounds fancy right? But it actually doesn't use any actual lavender syrup; the flavor is all artificial. It also contains Red 40 which has already been known to be a mutagen for 20+ years BEFORE, before RFK. My syrup had developed a microbial (bacterial most likely) biofilm and growths within the syrup. My syrup still has 6 months before the expiration date. If the syrup is being used quickly, then maybe it isn't a problem, but I don't think lavender is a super popular flavor. So if you're at the Fairmont, check the bottles of syrup flavorings before you order, especially if it is the 1883 brand. Also, if you're staying at the Fairmont Hotel...why don't they just make lavender simple syrup in the kitchen? You mean to tell me this fancy hotel can't afford to make simple syrup? It tastes better too.

We got the first service for afternoon tea. At the time of the booking, they said it wasn't an issue. When we arrived, we were placed all the way to the back. When we asked about seating, they told us that they could not accommodate with no explanation as to the difference. Service was a bit slow in the sense we were told hot water would come as soon as we flip the lid but it didn't. The scones tasted stellar. The sandwiches were mid. There were more sweet desserts.

An excellent blend of calming, long strokes, and firm pressure. Her technique was very interconnected and flowed over my skin. I'd highly recommend it! There were several nice amenities, such as a fresh whole fruit basket in our room upon arrival, tea in the lobby in afternoons (however, we didn't partake), nice breakfast treat left in our room each night, coffee in the room and in the hallway if you preferred fresh coffee and creamer. Our room was a nice size with 2 double beds and 2 comfortable chairs and small table. The location was wonderful as we rented a car & drove all around the area. What a gorgeous area! OMG! I have never seen so much beauty within a short drive. I took so many photos. It snowed the 2nd night we were there and made the mountains extra beautiful. The service at the hotel was great - doorman, registration desk & a staff member even helped us scrape ice off our windshield in the morning when it was 14 degrees (F) out. We're from California, US, so didn't know how to do it! LOL! I have recommended the Post Hotel to several friends and we're considering returning in the Spring. Loved it here!

I love the concept of unplugging from technology and getting back to nature. The staff is amazing and truly warm and welcoming. They have family style seating in the dining room and at first I wasn't sure, but what an awesome experience. Met many new, funny people through this. All walks of life. Each meal felt like a family get together. Just truly a transformative experience. We need more of this in our very technology heavy lives. Thank you TLBL for an amazing experience. Looking back I wish I didn't bother with Wi-Fi at all (it didn't work half the time anyway) & enjoyed the experience more. The restaurant, The Elkhorn Dining Room, had really great food. We went down & had dinner once, as well as one night we sat in the little seating area outside of the restaurant as we didn't make a reservation in time but they did serve us. We only went for dessert anyway so they really didn't mind. It was a nice atmosphere to just sit back & relax with some cheesecake. We also managed to grab some breakfast the day we were leaving & it was also very good. Like VERY good! I still dream of it to this day. The scenery alone is worth going back for. This lodge sits on the shores of Bow Lake amongst some of the most beautiful and, dare I say it, Instagram-able, mountains. There's a hike up to Bow Glacier Falls that is said to take about an hour & a half to get to and, judging by the pictures I've seen, a must see. I wasn't able to make the hike myself but am fully prepared to make the trip this year. I should add: this is an OLD lodge & does not have an elevator. I made the mistake of packing a suitcase. Next time I'll stick to backpacks. Much easier to lug up a couple flights of stairs (our room was on the top floor)! If you ever visit Num-Ti-Jah please use it as a chance to unplug & relax! It's an amazing place! I know I regret not slowing down & appreciating it more. It truly is a beautiful place.

The Crossing Resort, or what I believe is more commonly known as the Saskatchewan River Crossing,…read moreis the unofficial/official midway point of glorious Icefields Parkway connecting Banff and Jasper. It's a good area for a rest stop as in-between the drive, there's nothing but the remote great outdoors. At first, I was impressed upon arriving. The resort is not just a lodge, but serves as a gas station, gift shop, dining room and cafeteria. There's even a grocery store as well and a section for camping supplies. All this is offered among a terrific setting surrounded by the snowcapped mountains of the Canadian Rockies. I'm sure everyone's #1 complaint are the prices. I hate for money to be an issue especially when on vacation and enjoying life, but prices for everything was understandably increased. First off...gasoline. I guess if you're not desperate for fuel, definitely wait until arriving in Jasper or Lake Louise. I filled my tank ahead of time in Lake Louise so that was reassuring. The souvenirs at the gift shop were cool. But along the way in Banff and Lake Louise there were frequent chances to stock up on the usual knickknacks, so I resisted the urge to buy souvenirs. At the counter inside the gift shop there was a popcorn machine sending an intoxicating buttery smell throughout the store. I had to buy a bag and when I was told $12, I sort of did a doubletake reaction as if I were at the movies, lol. Beside the gift shop was a coffee, tea and hot chocolate station. The instructions were to purchase a cup from the checkout counter and then you had access to unlimited drinks for your visit. It was comforting having a hot drink for a chilly and overcast day. I indulged on that unlimited policy and gulped down 3 servings of hot chocolate, lol. I took my popcorn and hot chocolate and sat down inside the cafeteria. The cafeteria was deserted. And I didn't even look at what they were serving for lunch. I did notice some people walk through the cafeteria to get to the dining room for what's probably better food options. Unfortunately, there was no cell phone reception. I couldn't access Wi-Fi either and when I asked an employee about a possible Wi-Fi password, they gave me the thumbs down. Also, I considered charging my phone at the cafeteria but couldn't locate any electrical outlets beside the wall. In the end, I stepped outside to admire the views for a few moments before continuing on to Jasper. Overall, it was nice stopping here at The Crossing to take a break from the action and all the driving. I'd just maybe suggest waiting for better purchasing opportunities wherever your travels may take you along Icefields Parkway.

The floors were a bit squeaky, and the lock needed to ne replaced. It took at least a minute of fiddling each time we went back to our room (as if we were trying to break in), which was frustrating. The cleanliness was adequate, but you could see thick layers of dust behind the cabinets and o the edges of the wall. The balance was so old that the lights were out in thr bathroom the whole night because of my use of the hairdryer supplied in the room. Buffet breakfast was also decent for the price, wenliked that the menu changes daily. Quick walking access to Lake Louise. 2. Above average food and bar. Yes, you can do better, but at a higher price point and usually with at least a 45 min drive. 3. Good parking, which is an issue in the area. On the "I can deal side," but maybe a minus depending on what you are looking for: 1. No AC. Usually not an issue, but for our first two days it was high 80's Fahrenheit/low 30's C. Had to keep the windows open. 2. Sound. Rushing water from the nearby stream. We actually liked that. The building is old, so anyone moving, especially in the floors above you makes a creaky sound. 3. Wifi was weak. Cell service was spotty in the area except in town. We were trying to get away, so no big deal for us this time. 4. No tv. Also no big deal this time for us, since we were trying to be offline/low tech. Overall: would def stay here again and interested in checking out the other Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts.
