    What we ordered
    Kristen S.

After visiting the CN tower, we stopped by for a quick snack at beavertails. We ordered two different types of poutine and a plain beaver dog. Unfortunately they were out of the strawberry lemonade, so I opted for a Diet Coke. The service was not memorable, but was efficient, and our food was hot and the portions were generous. While this was not the best food we had while visiting Toronto, we enjoyed the theme and creativity of items offered.

A quick stop for a sweet treat! I was walking by and never had a beavertail before, so my friend suggested that we try. This food truck offers a variety of sweet beavertail treats (which are basically sweet toppings on a fried, sugary dough) as well as some savory bites (such as poutine). The service was pretty quick, and we got our order pretty fast. We got the bananarama and it was sweet and sugary. Perfect to curb your sweet tooth!

Dropped by since this truck was conveniently located outside Ripley's Aquarium - luckily at the time we got there, there was no line. Ordered the Brownie Beavertail, waited about 20 minutes, then the lady who took our order stared at us and asked if I ordered something. Turns out they completely forgot about our order lol. After we finally got it, the Beavertail was relatively yummy - definitely better than most fried dough and the brownie bits / nutella on top made it even better. It is almost overwhelmingly sweet & oily tho, so you get tired of it after a few bites. Wasn't worth the wait.

BeaverTails is the second-closest food truck from Burnhamthorpe

Last week, my friend, who is also my colleague, and I were in a meeting together. We talk about food often. He mentioned that he has been flagging BeaverTails on Uber Eats for a while. He let me know that there's a BeaverTails truck at Celebration Square. I must go! I love BeaverTails. It has been two years since I was last at Celebration Square, so I made it my mission to head over there last Saturday. I didn't bother ordering through any app. I just headed over to order at the food truck. Last time I was in the area, I parked at Square One and walked over. This time, I parked on Burnhamthorpe, steps away from all food trucks. I attempted to pay for parking at the meter. It didn't like any credit card that I inserted. It also didn't accept coins. I parked for free and headed up the steps. BeaverTails is the second-closest truck to Burnhamthorpe. There was a sole man working on an order. He said hi to me and I rattled off my order when he was free. I don't deviate much with what I order at BeaverTials because I love them so much: - Apple pie BeaverTail - BeaverDog I paid using my debit card. It was an easy tap and I was done. He said that it would take five minutes. I wasn't in a rush, so I people-watched while I waited. My apple pie was handed over to me first. I wanted to devour it immediately, but held off. Moments later, he handed me my BeaverDog and asked if I wanted any ketchup. I said yes. I thanked him and headed over to my car to eat. The apple pie BeaverTail is so good. It's my favourite. The sweet apples in cinnamon and sugar on top of fried, thin dough is heavenly. I ate that all up. Dessert first! I then had the BeaverDog. I'm glad that I did. It came out hot from the fryer and had cooled down a bit. It's essentially the thin dough used for a BeaverTail wrapped around a hot dog. It's like a huge pigs in a blanket, but the deep-fried version. It was delicious. My friend and I traded food notes on Monday. He got the brwownie (not a typo!) BeaverTail for him and the hazel amour for his brother. He said that the former was yummy for him, but it may be too sweet for others (me!). His brother liked the hazel amour a lot. They are now hooked. One of these days, I'll go back to having the bananarama one that's essentially sliced bananas on top of Nutella spread. I'd definitely come back and get my fix when I'm back here. (250)

This is my first time ever having a beavertail and what is better than getting it during a heat warning. There was quite a few selections including strawberry cheesecake but I decided to stick with the classic killaloe sunrise - essentially the classic with cinnamon, sugar and a wedge of lemon. Service was pretty first considering 5 people were ahead of me and I only waited for about 10 mins. The beavertail was slightly smaller than expected but it was fried to perfection! I must say that lemon wedge really did the trick. It made it super refreshing despite being a warm dessert. Now I'm tempted to squeeze lemon on all other fried things. I'll definitely be back to try the other flavors.

The reason they have "express" in their store name is that the food is usually ready within 2 mins. During busy times, you have to wait until they get to your order. There is a little window where they place food that is ready, and a server brings them to your table (if you are dining in). We ordered the following: A1: Spring Roll 4 pcs ($11.99). A2: Shrimp Fresh Roll 4 pcs ($11.99). M1: Assorted Thap Cam Banh Mi ($8.99). P1: Special Beef Noodle Soup/Pho ($17.99). C2: Grilled Chicken and Fried Egg on Broken Rice ($15.99). V1: Grilled Pork & Spring Rolls with Vermicelli ($18.99). D1: Passion-Mango Green Tea ($4.99). D4: Ice Coffee with Condensed Milk ($4.99). D5: Pop x 2 ($1.99 x 2). The customer service is good. They forgot to tell us that extra condiments can be found on a counter near the washroom. There is plenty of indoor tables, most of them are for two people. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-230

Plum Cold Brew ($3.99). I've never had the Poutine before. It was good. I've had the Plum Cold Brew before and it was like I remembered. This restaurant chain introduced the "Chinese Hamburger" in a crispy bun to Toronto back in 2021-05-23 (soft opening). Very tasty indeed! Plus, they have a wide variety of appetizers. The two owners are from China. The brand was founded in Beijing on 2014-04-08 and now has over 65 locations in Beijing. The Chinese Hamburger is called Rou Jia Mo (肉夹馍) in Chinese, which literally translates to "meat in a bun". It is the cuisine of China's Shaanxi province, which has the capital city of Xi'An (or Xian), where you find the terracotta warriors. For Chinese hamburgers, there are two types of buns: crispy and non-crispy. Most restaurants use the non-crispy buns but Bingz is the only restaurant in the GTA that uses the baked crispy buns. There is free WiFi. The restaurant wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washrooms, which is also wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-244
