Ever since I have read an article about this place, it has been on my to-do list for the summer. Finally, on a very hot Saturday in August, my family and I stopped here to get some summer treats. Being around this place felt like going back in time- warm sunshine, lots of smiles, and yummy ice cream. As we were going to be eating dinner in about two hours, we decided to order something small. My mom and my cousin each ordered hard ice cream (one scoop) in a cone- my mom picked mint chocolate chip and my cousin chose Dutch chocolate. I ordered a soft serve ice cream (vanilla, small) in a cone and added a flavour burst (rainbow). After a few minutes, our order was called and it was time to eat! The ice creams were larger than what we expected, which was a nice surprise! My mom and my cousin shared that the hard ice cream was creamy and smooth. I also enjoyed my ice cream- it was also creamy and smooth. Plus, I enjoyed a small touch of colour swirling around the ice ream, how fun! A lovely place to drop by if you're in the area! Definitely makes me want to go back to try all the colours. Depending how you eat it, you can get the flavours through the whole icecream. Portion and quality for the price is generous! Their softserve ice cream has real cream instead of the ice milk that most places use. We had the Brownie Delight ($7.00) and Rainbow Burst (medium $4.55). Both were good. Service is courteous and fast. The Rainbow Burst is ready in 30-40 secs. They have cones, sundaes, parfaits, and milkshakes. You can order pints of their ice cream via Ubereats. They also serve food like hamburgers, chicken fingers, fries, onion rings. NOTE: They only accept cash. There is an ATM on site but you'll probably be charged a hefty service charge. There is a parking lot onsite that can hold about 10 cars. There is free WiFi. There are no customer washrooms. It is accessible. During pandemic times, the lineups have far fewer people. It's pretty hard to find a solid soft-serve nowadays that is reasonably priced (save McDonald's), but Tom's definitely has that, and a lot more. Tom's has a variety of large flavours for soft-serve, hard scoop, sundaes, milkshakes, soft-serve dips and more. I got a medium peanut-butter dipped vanilla soft serve for just under $4 and it was excellent. The soft serve was smooth and creamy (I'd say it's creamier than MCD's but less creamy than Costco's) but not overwhelmingly sweet. Another miss for trying new things lol my original plan was to try their frozen yogurt, but he said it wont be available until another two weeks. Bummer! Tom'a Dairy has great soft serve and is well worth the wait!! I usually get vanilla cone dipped in chocolate or peanut butter, and have always been happy with those choices. The soft serve is very creamy and doesn't have that floury / corn starch base that McDonalds etc have. I tried the butterscotch dip, but didn't enjoy it as much as the Peanut Butter (my favourite) or the chocolate. The twist is ok, but there is something about a vanilla soft serve that chocolate takes away from. I tried the Oreo thick milkshake & did not find it that special. I have also tried the hot fudge sundae with nuts. The hot fudge sundae was good, but the soft serve cone can't be beaten for price and experience!
