We remodeled our basement in 2020 and had a good experience with that company, but we were not happy with the Covid protocols (or lack thereof) of the other company or their long-term responsiveness. Prima was incredibly respectful of our home and fantastic about communication. The planning process was impeccable, and I felt like we were listened to and the design completely reflects what we wanted and what was most practical for our space. During the project Kim sent weekly updates about what was accomplished and what was planned for the next week. The project stayed on schedule in spite of a couple Covid brushes and a lot of snow! I also love supporting a woman-owned business, but if that's not your thing, pick Prima because of the quality of the work and the stellar communication and project management. We opened up a load-bearing wall and added the custom bench, and everything else basically stayed in the same place (except added a pantry) but was completely replaced and updated. I hired Clear Choice Restoration for an insurance claim that included replacing the siding. The…read morehouse had two layers of siding, the inner layer was original clapboard and lead-based paint. The crew failed to follow lead paint remediation practices and contaminated my entire yard with lead-based paint chips. They came out twice to "clean up" the lead paint - both times failed to reasonably clean up the lead paint chips. They then claim another contractor caused the lead paint contamination, quit the job without notice, and refuse to file a claim with their insurance company to cover the cost of cleaning up the lead paint chips they failed to contain. IMO, they are trying to get out of their responsibility to clean up the lead contamination. If you have a house that may have lead-based paint, I think you should avoid Clear Choice Restoration at all costs.

I was told in the initial meeting it's a $400k-$500k project. How? This makes abdolutely no sense. I was told the dormer (4ft by 3 ft) with the 2 bathroom redo's was $250k. Two 6ft by 9 ft bathrooms. Then the mini split (5 heads) and closet and 7 new doors and paint and other work would be another $150k plus. How? There is pricing for a margin and being greedy. This is just greedy. Hard pass and they should be embarrassed.

What is your wood choice for cabinetry and what color stain would you like? Where do you want the faucet placed for the bathtub? I soon realized I needed HELP. I was way over my head. I found Imagine That through another friend/client and the time spent with Steve was so worth it. He was absolutely helpful and immediately understood the type of look I wanted to create. He had so many great ideas and balanced those with my budget in mind. He has unlimited resources available to him in order to search out products and designs. I will not attempt to do any additional updates to my house before spending time with Steve. I will want him involved from the beginning to the end of the project in order to make life simple, not have any mistakes and see the amazing results.
