Today, Saturday at 8:35 am I called this legal firm because I had two legal issues. I left a message, not two minutes later I received a call back from Brandon Gladstone, Esq. Mr. Gladstone provided me with wealth of information. Although Mr. Gladstone's firm does not practice the type of Law I need he provided me with other firms who do. In addition, Mr. Gladstone did discuss with me some issues regarding my legal problems. While speaking to Mr. Gladstone I found out he was up early because of something he needed to get done. My point is although Mr. Gladstone was busy and it was 8:40 am on Saturday morning he took time to call me back and did not rush his answer. Updating my review as Yelp did not allow the edit and instead of saying I would give a 1-star review, I meant I would give 0 stars. In light of my experience at this firm, I am hoping my review will help others who need an attorney. When I first found this firm, I saw all the positive reviews and thought that the service would match but I was wrong. At first, Brandon comes across as very knowledgeable and seemingly prides himself on communication but this quickly changed. After I signed the docs to hire him, my case immediately was given to a case manager. There were issues with services promised that were never completed such as letters of protection, consistent administrative errors on settlement documentation, errors in requesting duplicate records of medical records costing me duplicative, and unnecessary fees to name a few. Even after multiple attempts to get Brandon to address it, the issues continued. The most recent example is on my settlement documentation them listing out medical bills to be paid to providers that had no medical liens, why are you requiring them to be paid out of my settlement if they have no lien on it? And why aren't you communicating with me to discuss this first? There were just constant issues with communication and the more you challenge Brandon, the nastier he got. In one particularly egregious example, they claimed they did not get any of my medical bills reduced. I found this odd and called the places myself and was told that no one from the law firm ever reached out to discuss any medical bill negotiations. One place sent me an email that they never heard from Brandon or anyone from his firm, which I forwarded to Brandon and he completely denied it and tried to make it seem like I made it up. Both he and his paralegal contradict each other in emails and Brandon just keeps saying what a great job they are doing. If you look at their google reviews and even other reviews here on Yelp, it's obvious that I am not the only one with these issues. The most recent act by Brandon was after multiple attempts to get him to address my concerns that went unanswered, I made him aware I would be reaching out to the Virginia Bar for help with mediation. Knowing that I was doing that and knowing that he never responded to any of my emails regarding my concerns, he filed a lawsuit against me. To make matters worse, once I responded to the lawsuit and said that he needed to ensure that the document was correct before I would sign. He wrote me a nasty email back stating how big of a headache I was to his firm (so wanting the bare minimum of customer service and addressing my concerns makes me a headache..got it), he would give me two options. He would remove the legal fees of the lawsuit he filed against me if I would remove what he claimed were false reviews about him and his firm. He also added that if I even so much as THOUGHT about posting another negative review that it would become actionable OR I could sign the document with the legal fees attached. I said I'd sign the document with the legal fees attached because I was not removing my review or my right to think about a review in the future. He responds that he will give me two options for a date for court and will be pursuing attorney fees. So he gave me two options and didn't like the option I chose and so he is continuing with his retaliatory behavior. I have copies of all the documentation from the start until the end to prove everything I am stating. All I can do is give the facts of my experience with firm and let others know how I felt in my dealings with them. To me, there is nothing special about winning a slam dunk case with low policy limits. Customer service matters, integrity matters. If your client is saying there are concerns and missteps, address them. There is zero accountability with Brandon and you are labeled a problem if you expect and demand more than the absolute bare minimum from him. There are so many better personal injury attorneys in Virginia in my opinion, I can recommend a few that I met in this journey that I wish I had hired over this firm. I was involved in a car accident in November 2017, when a car rear-ended me, and then I faced difficulties with the other guy's insurance company being willing to cover my associated medical bills. I found Becker, Kellogg, and Berry online, and encouraged by their excellent reviews here on Yelp, I gave them a call. I had a great experience working with them, and would heartily recommend them if you ever find yourself in a situation where you require a personal injury lawyer (although of course, I hope that you don't! Heh.) I primarily communicated with paralegal Eileen O'Leary, with Nathalie Johnson-Noon and Megan Koster as the lawyers I spoke with occasionally. Eileen was very responsive to my emails and questions, and when I hit a bit of a hiccup with one of my medical providers, I truly felt like Eileen, Ms. Koster, and Ms. Johnson-Noon all were very much on my side, backed me up, and helped me navigate things as smoothly as possible. I spoke to Mr. Gladstone about my case last October (review did not get posted by Yelp till now for some reason). He appeared to be attentive in the beginning, however hang up the phone in the middle of the conversation. I called back within few minutes (switched the room since I thought maybe the phone line was bad), and asked a receptionist to leave a message. I also sent a text directly to his mobile number AND got a response that he will call back in a minute. I never received a call back. I understand that there may be reasons why attorneys would not want to take all cases, and this is fine, however a simple professional response would be appreciated. Ignorance is disrespectful. Not sure how good lawyers they are, but do not even approach unless you have a close to 100% clear win case with big payoff, otherwise you will be treated like trash. read more

I have since, contacted both GEICO and Progressive insurance companies. and I personally worked with both of them to get my case resolved. I filed a complaint with the Virginia Bar Association against this attorney for abandonment of my case. They did an initial investigation, and then expanded to a more detailed investigation. I was attempting to settle a claim after a car accident in which I was injured and told by insurance it would be settled in Feb. I thought everything was fine until I was notified by the insurance company they were missing bills, would not be able to settle, and there was nothing I could do since the statue of limitations was almost up. Called Becker, Kellogg, and Berry in a last ditch effort to inquire if there was anything I could do to extend.
