This was one of the most empowering, confidence-boosting experiences of my life. From the second I walked in, Taylor (the photographer) made me feel like an absolute queen. She picked outfits and colors that brought out my eyes and personality perfectly. Whitney, the makeup artist, worked her magic -- soft, natural, and beautiful -- I looked like me, just the "glammed-up goddess" version. Michael and Brittney, the owners, have created such a warm, classy, judgment-free space that celebrates women at every stage of life. The studio is stunning, they have racks of outfits, shoes that would make Lady Gaga jealous, and an atmosphere that just screams self-love. I walked in feeling a little nervous and walked out standing taller, smiling bigger, and feeling proud of who I am. I just picked my photos and I can't wait to see them finished. I just finished looking at my photos for the first time and I'll tell ya, it was one of those realizations that I need to look at myself differently. Self love is hard but sooooo worth it. I learned a lot too. This time I was just along for the ride no real expectations just kind of whatever they said I did. Next time, yes, there will be a next time. I would definitely pick out my own outfits from the 1000 that was available, I would go in with photos of hair and makeup I wanted, and also some ideas of specific photos I wanted. My reason for doing the boudoir photoshoot was simple...I wanted to see myself the way my husband…read moredoes. No matter what, he sees me as a beautiful and sexy woman. I don't always see that when I look in the mirror. I looked on Google for photographers that would do this for me. There are plenty out there, but I found Jodi's work to be extremely tasteful and artful. It was a major plus that she is female. Not only was I more comfortable shedding layers of clothing but she knows and understands how a woman's body can look its best. Jodi did my hair and makeup before we started the shoot and we were able to chit chat a little bit and become more comfortable with each other. I had so much fun doing the shoot. She helped me understand what to do with my body and my face to get us a lot of great pictures. Ultimately, she posted 119 pictures on the secure viewing portion of her website. It was a complete surprise for my husband when I told him he needed to come with me to a "doctor's appointment" only to come into Jodi's studio to pick out pictures and create an album. Jodi was able to take the pictures he liked best (almost all of them) and create an album right in front of us. Now all we have to do is wait the week for the album to come to us. My husband and I were so thrilled with the results that I am already talking about saving up the money and doing it all over again!!!

I actually am still beautiful and believe it or not, still sexy. My opinion of my body has changed after kids and I wanted to help learn to embrace it. I searched photographers in the area and even talked to a couple.. the very first phone conversation with Jodi I was sold. She understood exactly why I wanted - actually why I needed to have this photo shoot done. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful. Jodi did my hair and make up - she knows the exact look and how to achieve it. She gave great advice about what types of outfits to bring, and even had a couple of options in her studio. She knows how to pose you to make you look your best. I kept this a secret from my husband, and surprised him with the album on our anniversary. He was shocked and stoked. I have been wanting to do something like this for ages- but I always told myself it would have to wait until I made it to my goal weight. Before I even made it to the studio I was given plenty of reading material via e-mail to get me prepared for the big day- I had set up to be a plus-size model in the studio to get outside of my comfort zone and reconnect with myself. I was still a goo 20 lbs from the goal weight I was trying to achieve (though 50 lbs is still a good # when doing it the hard way) Olin greeted me and made me feel beyond comfortable and human again before I made it to make up! We talked bout the emotional things I had going on, which Olin was very understanding and shared some of her experiences that made me feel that much more comfortable MAKE UP: was included with the modeling. Jacqueline I think was the name of the make up artist and she gave me a nice nude smoke look something natural with subtle eyelashes which was outside of my dramatic make up look which is norm. HAIR: I came with my hair done, and did it in my bathroom PHOTOGRAPHER MEET: Olin explained that she was not going to be performing my photos but Emily would be to expander her portfolio. Emily came in, also going through a rough time and we were easily connected from the get. Emily asked me questions about my personal style an personality as to achieve this in the photos. OUTFITS: I arrived with a few articles for use including some props from home. I was not the most confident in my options, Emily took me to the closet in the studio where we collectively found a selection of outfits. I was surprised with each one and how comfortable I was in them, and even more so as the photos went on THE SHOOT ITSELF: With multiple costume changes, positions and sets (all in the same room)- we started off with working on a few things that were common for the shoot: "pop that booty" and "toes pointed" to name a few. Emily was great with her approach and especially in reading when I may have felt uncomfortable she would continue with positive reinforcement which you can tell was sincere. By the end of it I was feeling comfortable and so happy that I finally made the plunge and did these photos regardless of the size and not being at my goal weight. THE REVEAL: Before I left I got to schedule my reveal date to see all the photos. I signed allowing them to share the sneak peeks and use my photos. I scheduled for 8/11/2022 and cannot wait to see the end result. At that time I can purchase if I would like PURCHASING: they do offer a payment plan SNEAK PEEK: I saw the first sneak peek via instagram and fell in love immediately. Something I was going to wait to share with my love interest I sent him the screenshot immediately and he loved it. I finally admitted to doing the shoot to him. The second one was posted in the private group on FB- wholly hotness I was impressed. It was like all the insecurities I had about my body were seen in a different light. My man and I cannot wait to see the finished product in a few days. Why wait? The time is now! This is something I've always wanted to do but was too shy to try. My bf's birthday is coming up…read moreand I thought it would be the perfect time to go for it. From the beginning, Lisa was so amazing. She responded promptly to my inquiries via email and was able to schedule a session based off of my work schedule. She followed up with me before the session, making sure to answer any and all of my questions and also providing me with some ideas. During my session, she allowed me to bring my close friend so I would feel more comfortable. They did my hair and makeup amazing and it was really nice getting to talk with Lisa and getting to know each other before starting the session. During the session, she made me feel like a model. She coached me through all my poses and had me laughing and smiling. It was such a great time and I would definitely recommend her to anyone who has been wanting to try this time of photo shoot. After the session, Lisa followed up with me within a week with the final photos. I ended up ordering the little black book and she arranged my photos perfectly for the final print.
