They have a lovely showroom, and the gentleman who helped us pick out our selections was great. However, after that our experience was disappointing. First of all, they gave us the wrong lead-times several times - they kept getting longer until eventually we were told that almost none (!) of our selections actually existed to be ordered. I can understand perhaps being surprised by one supplier - but to tell us that multiple items on their showroom floor, from multiple suppliers, were discontinued without their knowledge indicates a pretty big lack of attention on their part. We were working with Kara on our order; this was a very negative experience. She was irresponsible and inaccessible, failing to get us estimates anywhere near her promised timelines (i.e. weeks later) and failing to return multiple calls. She later explained that she was either traveling and/or working on bigger projects than ours that were consuming her time; when we asked who covered her for our questions, she seemed surprised and said "nobody." She seemed exasperated with us for wanting attention, and expected us to understand that we were low-priority compared to her other clients. We canceled our order and went elsewhere. Edited to add: Despite the posting date, this occurred in fall 2014. Once I finally posted my review - I had forgotten to post - the owner reached out to me immediately. He seemed very responsive and proactive.

She's always so helpful with advice and has background knowledge on each company/vendor she works with as far as their efforts to reduce and reuse too. I brought in my Costco sized laundry detergent container but discovered that next time, I'll only need a smaller one (she has a community glass container station if you need one) since they are concentrated and you only need about 1.5 table spoons per load of the earth conscious detergent! I also purchased dishwasher detergent powder, deodorant, washable facial pads, mouthwash tablets, lip butter, charcoal toothpaste tablets and beard balm for my hubby. From what I'd heard and read, this costly process often turned out to be a nightmare that yielded disappointing results. Instead, working with kitchen designer Emily Dolan at KitchenWorks (who was recommended by our contractor, Steve Spratt Improvements), was fun. And the results are more beautiful and functional than I had expected. She started by visiting our house to see our kitchen, and then she listened to what we wanted and what we wanted to get rid of with the remodel. She asked us detailed questions -- Do you use your microwave to re-heat or to cook? Could you use another pantry near the refrigerator for storage, or would you rather have more counter space? Have you thought of using tray dividers in the cupboards over the refrigerator to store your trays and cookie sheets? Based on our answers, she drew up several layouts for us to review. She willingly revised elements of the plan we settled on, and once the remodel was underway, she came by a few times to see that the installation was going smoothly. I never felt the clock ticking when I met with her, or rushed into a decision, or pushed to choose the most costly materials. She was even willing to look at the flooring samples I brought by to help me envision which would look best with the cabinets and countertop we had chosen. Now, we have a kitchen where everything we use has a place that makes sense, and just catching a glimpse of it from our living-room or den makes me smile. They took too long: we first met in April with an intended construction date of September which was later pushed back to January; it's now October and I still don't have usable plans. 2. They didn't meet the budget: the cost estimate the designer provided is multiple times beyond the budget that was allocated. Some items she listed are three times what she originally said or what I could find elsewhere. 3. They didn't communicate: I wouldn't hear anything from the designer for weeks until I would reach out to her; even an email to a third party that she said she sent actually hadn't been sent when I checked on it. 4. They kept missing things: I had to remind the designer multiple times to fix or change things in her designs.
