I really liked World Market a lot! Although they did not ultimately have what my daughter needed for UVA move-in we were impressed! Surface parking was nearby and lot clear of debris. Signage is excellent. The store is not a mega square footage space, but it's large! They don't have WORLD in their name for nothing. They really offer an amazing amount of goods that are eclectic. From furniture, to food, to alcohol. Some much more. The floor staff was helpful when looking lost. Merchandise was neatly displayed and overall store layout made sense. I will come back. read more

We bought these chairs less than one year ago and the finish is peeling off of all of them and World Market will do nothing but offer a discount for us to buy more. WHY would we buy more of the same inferior product. Now we are being told that we should have covered them or brought them inside over the winter. WHAT Crap. Omg.... Twice in one week. I went to World Market on Thursday and found some things I wanted to purchase. I have a home being built -and was pleased at the cute items. However, the whole experience was ridiculous because I wanted to purchase items from the store, and even though the items were in the store on the floor, they were sold out online. They wouldn't let me purchase items in store because there was a code not to them. Finally a nice employee asked for me and they ended up selling me the floor item. My sister went because I told her all about the cute items. We spent over an hour picking out a rug and a chair. The saleswoman talked her into order online because she could get the coupon. The saleswoman said there was one of the chairs in the back. My sister and I went to lunch, and she proceeded to try to order the chair, which was OUT of STOCK. Everywhere. She was willing to go to far off stores. Nope. Called the manager. Not only was he rude and unprofessional, he said by no means could he sell her the chair in store. I called him to tell him I had just a few days ago purchased a planter that was on the floor , that the salesman had said had this "code" but asked someone and said they could sell it to me. So manager not giving a damn about making customers happy. Maybe because my sister is a senior citizen and was talked into buying online, when she wanted to buy it in the store in the first place. I don't know why there would be such a huge difference in service. Over a chair. Wow. I will not be buying from WM again. This is why you pay extra to go to PB, C&B and West Elm. If you're looking for cool furniture, textiles, etc world market will definitely have it. They have everything from art, to jewelry and clothes, to furniture, candles, bath stuff and more. Their food section is great as well! Many people complain about the price, but world market does offer stuff that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere. To be honest, compared to handcrafted artisan products, world market is very cost efficient. However, it's still a chain, so if you want to shop as ethically as possible I'd still recommend shopping more locally. The staff is usually friendly, and don't forget to sign up for their rewards program! They give out coupons and free items all the time, so make sure to ask them before you head out. read more

Being stuck in Charlottesville was made sooo much better by the fact that there was a World Market nearby. I loved going to this place back home in Richmond and was so happy to see it in C'ville. With everything here in Miami, I still feel like it's missing something because there's no World Market. If you're unfamiliar, think of this as a Pier One with food, drinks (including alcoholic) from all over the world and jewelry and accessories that are just as cool and unique as the furniture. This place is great for anything from gourmet chocolate to spices and from all over the world, to candies and sodas from your childhood, even furniture, paintings, and some of the coolest jewelry around! This is my go-to after a stressful week during exams to reward myself with a tasty treat. I usually go for the hazelnut Quadrattini wafers, Mona Loa chocolate-covered macadamias, a nice bar of Milka German chocolate, or a bar of Lindt pistachio. I love to just come in here and browse the food section :). Did I mention this was also my go-to for spices? They have it ALL and for super cheap! Just save and wash your old spice bottles because some spices are in bags and are sold for only 2 bucks!! You can find Ethiopian berbere, mild-hot indian curries, Jamaican jerk, herbs de provence, vanilla beans, North African spice blend, and, of course, all of the basics. They used to make an amazing garlic pepper blend that I put on all of my meats and in all of my soups, but I haven't seen it for a while. Whenever I'm looking for a cool, trendy piece of statement jewelry, I always check here first. Sometimes you have to sort through some weird stuff, but there are always a handful of A+ winner pieces for about $10. Can't beat it! I find THE BEST dangle earrings here, hands down. It's the only place I find a lot of stylish options that aren't to heavy for my ears (my ears are prone to stretching of the piercing) Cons: Never really people out in the aisles to help you. just have fun exploring them yourself! read more

I think I would have been okay if my friend had just forgotten she drove me over, paid for her purchases, and left. This place is a bit off the beaten track: turn off Route 29 as if you were going to KFC's world-renown buffet of fried chicken and cinnamon apples, and keep on going into the plaza that houses Best Buy, PetCo, and my new home, World Market. There are so many ways to get side-tracked. I was awfully captivated by the turkey brine (especially with Thanksgiving coming up around the corner), and the $3.99 Soup for 8 packets near the front. The furniture and decorations didn't really interest me as much. No, there's a wonderland in the back crammed full of delicious goodies from the continents over yonder (kind of like Food of All Nations without that god-awful parking lot turn): chocolate hazelnut waffle crackers, cheddar and asiago crisps, crunchy chocolate and orange cookies, and a whole aisle dedicated to picnic-sized treats. Don't even get me started on the candy aisle. Oh my god, I never wanted to leave. I kept hearing my friend calling out to me from under this happiness-induced fog, and her voice sounded really far away. Oceans away. I should come back tomorrow. read more

My husband and I love peeking around World Market. I know most of the stuff is made in China probably, but I can't help but enjoy checking out the random little knickknacks and decor they have that you don't see anywhere else. Everything they have is definitely not of the same quality, for instance like I said, some definitely seems to be "made in China" cheap and temporary, but other stuff really seems to be of good quality and interesting. Also, the international foods section at the back is worth a visit on its own. Everything is expensive, but most of it really is stuff that you can't find at other grocery stores or anywhere around town. My husband is Scottish so he likes checking out what British food stuffs they bring in. World market is a good place to go if you want to get someone an easy, cute themed gift, or add some flair to your home decor with things that will be a little more unique than your typical Target/bed bath and beyond purchases. read more

I have to avoid this store sometimes because it will make me want to redecorate my entire home. But seriously, this place is everything good. Good coffee, good snacky foods, good beer & wine for purchase, beautiful furniture, decor that I just can't say no to. I did make a big purchase here- a dining room table. They have great clearance deals in the front of the store for things like this at times, so don't miss them. The employees were super helpful as I tried to figure out how to get the large table to my home after purchasing. I've always found the people that work here friendly and helpful. This place is my personal heaven! I'm so glad I decided to check it out after buying stuff at Petco. There's so much cool stuff in this shop- furniture, house decorations, silverware, glassware, tea pots, coffee makers, you name it! I love the designs and the wide selection of foreign products here. Prices are also relatively cheap! There's an amazing selection of wines and beers from all over the world. I saw wines I haven't seen at Wegman's, Krogers, or Trader Joes. Being a long time patron of World Market I have to say this location is a pretty good one. Think of it as a market place of nice to have but not necessary items. It's got quite a bit of furniture to peruse as well as a nice selection of neat jewelry and household items. The prices are a bit steep on some of the items but worth it for some of unique aspects of the pieces. I enjoy browsing this store when I'm looking for decorations or presents. In the past I've found this is a good place to find eclectic and nostalgic gifts for friends. If you walk to the back you'll discover they are a merchant of wine and food, including that hard to find candy you tried one time and couldn't remember the name of. Yep. WM seems to be a place we always end up in while around Petco or Best Buy. That have a variety of items in the store from furniture to beer. I typically find the beer to be overpriced, but once in a while a nice item can be found. My wife would be more of an expert on those items. I think I'll wait in Best Buy. read more

Relatively inexpensive home, accessories, and food/wine shop. Kind of like Marshalls/Home Goods but with more food/wine selection and larger pieces of furniture. I got an armchair from this location and the employees were super nice about helping me load it into my car. I was fully expecting to wrangle the thing myself across the parking lot.
