However, this review is for a specific service of Lowe's, mainly their live Christmas tree selection. In all our years of living in Southern California (San Diego) we never had a problem finding live trees. There were lots on every corner and many, many stores also sold them. Targets, CVS...you name it, and there were live trees propped outside, waiting to be bought. Imagine our surprise to come to the midwest and find live trees scarce! I can't tell you how many stores we drove to that first year, trying to find someone who had something other than the artificial trees. Again, I have to marvel at how ironic it is that metropolitan San Diego would win over the heart of the midwest for finding live trees! Thankfully, Lowe's is close by and they have a nice selection. This year we chose an 8 ft. Frasier pine and that tree stayed fresh and fragrant from the first day of December right on up til January 2. Same with our tree last year. So, I'm giving credit to Lowe's for having such a beautiful assortment of trees and for making sure they are fresh. And as an aside, when we purchased the tree, everyone in that area was super friendly and helpful. They cut off the bottom of the tree, trimmed a few wild branches and then bagged it for us, all with a smile.

ON the following Tuesday the CRST installation crew 1) damaged our wooden floors and 2) destroyed both the control panel finish and the dishwasher motor by running it after install while leaving paper, plastic and string material inside it. I reported the damage immediately same evening; store said "no problem" & replacement authorization was obtained immediately through a store supervisor. Installation of the replacement promised before the Labor Day holiday; same not delivered on even though they completed an in-home inspection two days later. The store said next they couldn't process (said "It's our IT issue"). Installation again promised 9/14/2026 by voice and text message by CRST; no contact or follow-thru by same and dishwasher still not delivered/installed by 1700 hours 9/14/26. Called Lowe's; they said the dishwasher is sitting in the store & it is a CRST problem ("you gotta call them Bud"). Called CRST immediately and they said Lowe's CANCELED our order on the Sept. 9th. NO dishwasher; out $1349 as of today. The Store Manager has refused to call me back despite multiple requests to discuss/resolve this issue. Total number of telephone calls to both Lowes and CRST = 29; total time on the phone 9 hours plus (and on hold with CRST now). Filed BBB complaint(s); worst store experience of any kind ever.

Edan at Midwest Marble and Granite helped me select attractive elements like the sink, faucet, quartz material, and backsplash ceramic tile. Because of her experience as an interior decorator, I really valued her insights. On installation day, I was truly impressed by Jake, Carlos, and the team. They worked tirelessly to remove the old countertops and backsplash and to ensure the heavy new countertops were perfectly aligned and level. I had no idea how physically demanding this work could be. The next day, during backsplash installation, the same praise goes to Patrick, Frank, Eddie, and Austin. They spent hours bending over the counters, meticulously cutting, placing, and grouting ceramic tiles on four walls. That has to be backbreaking, especially for someone as tall as Frank! Midwest Marble and Granite transformed my kitchen with high-quality materials that were expertly installed in a timely and friendly manner. What more could I want?

Gary was ready to walk out of the store. I kind of wish we had. We ordered the GE Profile 4 door French Door fridge. We explained in detail the amount of space we had where the fridge would go, and that there was a wall immediately on the left side of the fridge. Rich said yes, it will fit. What he didn't bother telling us was that once it was in place, we wouldn't be able to open the left door because this was not a zero clearance door. We needed an extra 10" to fully open the doors. Again, he didn't bother with explaining that part. I think he was more worried about his commission check. We are highly disappointed with him, but love the fridge. We are going to try and go to great lengths and expense, tear out cabinets, shorten countertop, to make this work. A good salesperson would have listened and explained about the doors needing that space. We hadn't bought a refrigerator in 20 years! The GE Profile is a very great refrigerator (with the exception of slow ice maker and small ice bin), and the price was good, but Rich needs to hone his sales skills. I spoke with a woman on the other end, and though she was as sweet as a peach in August, she was possessed of a curious sort of amnesia when it came to the matter of cost. I asked her plain as day what a fella might expect to part with for a new shower, just a whisper of a range, mind you, for I did not know if I was looking at a few dollars or a king's ransom. She could not, or would not, utter a single figure. Now, if a man pulls into a filling station and the proprietor refuses to tell him the price of a gallon of gasoline, he knows well enough to keep his hand on his wallet and his foot on the pedal. This business in Riverside is shrouded in a mist of their own making, and I feel a duty to warn my neighbors that this is a shady operation, the kind that plays hide-and-seek with the truth while they chase your signature. It had snowed the day before and they had to walk across approx 16ft light tan carpet to do the job. When reviewing the finished product all tools & tarps were in the truck and the surrounding area was perfect. My shower was exactly what I had ordered, my bathroom looked like is was ready for the Homes tour it even looked like they had scrubbed the floor.
