As someone who really isn't that much into heavy duty home improvement, I like Lowe's better than Home Depot, because I can get more soft line stuff for the house without feeling like I need to be a contractor in order to be legit. However, this review is for a specific service of Lowe's, mainly their live Christmas tree selection. In all our years of living in Southern California (San Diego) we never had a problem finding live trees. There were lots on every corner and many, many stores also sold them. Targets, CVS...you name it, and there were live trees propped outside, waiting to be bought. Imagine our surprise to come to the midwest and find live trees scarce! I can't tell you how many stores we drove to that first year, trying to find someone who had something other than the artificial trees. Again, I have to marvel at how ironic it is that metropolitan San Diego would win over the heart of the midwest for finding live trees! Thankfully, Lowe's is close by and they have a nice selection. This year we chose an 8 ft. Frasier pine and that tree stayed fresh and fragrant from the first day of December right on up til January 2. Same with our tree last year. So, I'm giving credit to Lowe's for having such a beautiful assortment of trees and for making sure they are fresh. And as an aside, when we purchased the tree, everyone in that area was super friendly and helpful. They cut off the bottom of the tree, trimmed a few wild branches and then bagged it for us, all with a smile. read more

ON the following Tuesday the CRST installation crew 1) damaged our wooden floors and 2) destroyed both the control panel finish and the dishwasher motor by running it after install while leaving paper, plastic and string material inside it. I reported the damage immediately same evening; store said "no problem" & replacement authorization was obtained immediately through a store supervisor. Installation of the replacement promised before the Labor Day holiday; same not delivered on even though they completed an in-home inspection two days later. The store said next they couldn't process (said "It's our IT issue"). Installation again promised 9/14/2026 by voice and text message by CRST; no contact or follow-thru by same and dishwasher still not delivered/installed by 1700 hours 9/14/26. Called Lowe's; they said the dishwasher is sitting in the store & it is a CRST problem ("you gotta call them Bud"). Called CRST immediately and they said Lowe's CANCELED our order on the Sept. 9th. NO dishwasher; out $1349 as of today. The Store Manager has refused to call me back despite multiple requests to discuss/resolve this issue. Total number of telephone calls to both Lowes and CRST = 29; total time on the phone 9 hours plus (and on hold with CRST now). We spent a ton of money purchasing our 3 new garage doors. What a nightmare. First, we couldn't get them to take our money ans order them, they weren't sure how to do it. They sent some one and then she ghosted us and didn't know how to get us the financing we wanted. We did all the work. We waited for ever for the install which was subpar and done 2.5 months ago and never completed. The bottom seal is already pulling apart, the garage door sometimes goes down, sometimes not, and the fixtures have not all been added. The BEST part is being held hostage by the installer all day on a weekend- ALL DAY- saying hes coming at 8;00 am - then 10, then 12 then a little later then stop returning your calls or messages. We recently purchased a freezer from Lowe's on Boardwalk, KCMO which was delivered yesterday3/7/2025. We were supposed to receive an email link to rate the delivery service, which I never received. It may have gone to my husband's email? Anyway, Noel and Yerlin were the young men that delivered the freezer. They removed, cleaned up and took all the bulky packing materials so I would not have to deal with it. They made sure the freezer worked when plugged in. They removed all the tape from the door, and gave me the keys and owners manual before leaving. This attention to detail was particularly meaningful to me, as I am elderly and had recent surgery and would have been unable to do the things these young men did, especially managing the oversized cardboard. In my opinion, these gentlemen went above and beyond. Our expectations were exceeded with both the product and the delivery. read more

I bought a dishwasher at Lowe's Northland KC MO. I have very narrow windows for installation. I called Lowe's and spoke with their staff three times and the installers twice to get the installation on a Wed Morning. (PM I have doctor's appointment). They said fine and the day before someone would call and confirm. No one called, at 7:12 PM I got a text that the installation would be 1 to 4 PM. I have been on the phone 30+ minutes trying to get this straightened out. I will buy no more applicances from Lowe's and am filing a complaint against the installer CRT. This store's website says they're open until 10 pm. We called the store to confirm and make sure before we drove all the way out, and their phone recording also said it was open until 10 pm. We get to the store and it's closed at 9 pm. We called the store to speak to someone about it, and the man who answered us was very arrogant, rude and uncaring, and laughed at us when we tried to explain the inconvenience of the wrong hours posted and on their recording. He was so rude and dismissive, we will never shop here again. Also there was a male employee inside who saw us standing outside. I asked nicely if she can get someone to help me and I mistakenly give her an aisle # after she had called someone to come up. I had realized that it was a wrong aisle right after and I told her it's this aisle and she rolled her eyes and made disgusting facial reaction at me. I like Lowe's, I buy several kitchen appliance from this location, from fridge/freezer/cooking stove to garden items. This review is based on my 2 time fridge & freezer purchase experience with KURT at Appliance department. He is very knowledgeable & helpful for what you want and will give you the BEST price he can find for you. 2 years ago my old fridge die on me at a summer day, everything was ruined, then we rushed in to Lowe's to buy 2 new fridges under Kurt's help. This weekend a 12 years old freezer broken, need a emergency purchase. Of course we go back to Kurt again, he helped us get a good freezer with a very marvelous price. I'm so happy that whenever disaster happened, Kurt always there to guide us through. That's why I gave Lowe's 4 stars, actually, I gave KURT 4 stars!! If you need to buy new Kitchen Appliance at this location, asking for Kurt, then you will walk out of Lowe's as a happy customer just like me. TIP: They "MATCH" price. I have been a dedicated Lowe's shopper for 15 years. Today changed my mind. Customer service was more interested in doing their inventories than helping me find some child proofing brackets I was searching for. After being pointed to different parts of the store by different staff members, I finally located the section only to find their child proofing section was well under stocked (my fault for not checking online). Afterwards, while looking for a replacement battery for my drill, I waited 10 minutes without a staff member being in sight. Cashier was unfriendly at best without any greeting and it seemed like I was interrupting her conversation with her coworker. I will now be using the Home Depot which is 20 minutes closer. read more

My problem is with the way associates attempted to treat me like I was some type of idiot, when I attempted to return a tablesaw which I purchased in Dec. of 2019, product was still under warranty and the shaft used to raise and lower the blade depth, suddenly snapped, making it impossible to change depth. I began the day doing my normal daily shopping this morning, stopped by the return desk and asked if it was possible to find a receipt for a purchase using my card, the associate was very nice, explained that yes they could if it was purchased this year and I knew exact date, I thanked her and went on, fortunately I found the receipt. I took saw back to store, same lady told me to take the saw to Steve in the tool crib and he would take care of everything. Found Steve, explained what I wanted to do and instantly he started telling me that I had to obtain some number from Kobalt and then I had to do a return on my saw, then take that money from the return and purchase the new saw, exact same model and then pay the difference of around $150, because new saw was priced higher. At that point I proceeded to tell Steve, that according to the 3 yr factory warranty, see below: 3 YEAR LIMITED GUARANTEE For 3 years* from the date of purchase, this product is warranted for the original purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship. This guarantee does not cover damage due to abuse, normal wear, improper maintenance, neglect, unauthorized repair/alteration, or expendable parts and accessories expected to become unusable after a reasonable period of use. If you think your product meets the above guarantee criteria, please return it to the place of purchase with valid proof of purchase and the defective product will be repaired or replaced at no charge. A second lasy was helping me the second time at desk, she insisted I had to do this, I told her word for word again, then said it says absolutely nothing about any type of number from Kobalt, that if they needed this number, then they should call Kobalt and get it, because I wasn't required, per my warranty to do that, then she got snippy and told me that I bought the saw, that they wouldn't do it, I insisted that I had done exactly as instructed per the warranty and told her I wasn't moving from counter until they honored my warranty, sorry to the people waiting behind me, she said I'll just have manager deal with me, I said great! Manager showed up, asked what I needed, told hom about saw breaking, started reading from warranty, with him looking at it as well, place of purchase, check, proof of purchase, receipt, check, repair or replace, check. He intantly gave the transaction to another gentleman and low and behold, guess who was making the walk of shame, bringing the brand new saw up to the return desk, yep, Mr. I've been doing this for 20yrs Steve. What could have taken only 10-15 minutes, wasted an hour of my day, because one person, Mr. Steve, tried ignoring what was written clear as day and twisting it around, convincing others he knew everything, only to make them all look stupid in front of their customers. Steve, most of the time, the old saying the customer is always right, is true. Manager was great, associates need to stop playing god! read more

Just like my Home Depot review, they have all the necessities of a home improvement store. I do think they have slightly better customer service than established competitor, HD. Lowes is in the same shopping center as WalMArt, which can be helpful to pick everything up in one stop. There is a Chipotle across the street, too, which is a nice place for lunch. read more

Very frustrating experience with the Zona Rosa location.. we ordered a washer and dryer to be delivered two weeks ago and we still have not received it. We finally called to ask about it and was told that it was being delivered today (June 3rd) we waited all day for it to show up and wouldn't you know it, they never came! We finally got an email at 6pm saying it would now be delivered on the 9th. Had I known it was going to take three weeks to receive it I would have gone somewhere else. The last two times I have visited this store, I've left due to poor service. Today, after waiting in line, I purchased a blue rhino tank of propane and was told someone would be right out to unlock the station. After 10 minutes of waiting, went in and asked for help. Another five minutes went by at which point and I went in and got a refund. There were two people at the service desk, with no customers. The lady told me there was only so much she could do at one time. Really? Went to Home Depot, and found that you can buy the tank outside and get the tank on your own. Took me less than 2 minutes total. If you are looking for any level of service at all, skip this store. It's understaffed and the staff that I've found there have not been helpful. read more

Purchased a John Deere lawn tractor in late May. One of the biggest reasons I purchased here was that there was a $200 rebate available in the form of a Lowe's gift card. The processing time was to be 6-8 weeks and I just passed the 14 week mark and no refund. They acknowledge receipt and the rebate center shows "processing". I have made telephonic inquiries, emails, customer service calls at least once a week starting at week 6. Apparently Lowe's has decided to transfer all the rebates to a company operating in South America and they continue to tell me to be patient, its Covid 19, everything except an answer to where my $200 rebate is. What a scam! No one in the U.S. based Lowe's knows or wants to know how to fix this. They keep telling me to wait, it will be resolved soon. It is a SCAM I will never purchase an item with promise of a rebate from this company. I suspect they will hope that eventually the customer will get tired of asking and forget about the $200. No Way and I will continue to spread the news about this SCAM to everyone I know! Never make a purchase from this company with a promise of a rebate when this company has sent good paying jobs out of the U.S. to South America! I told her I would go somewhere else that actually cared about their customers enough to help them and she said "Ok". I called and scheduled to have my dryer fixed first guy came out but refused to come into house because my grandson was sick and going to doctor called and rescheduled again and now this company calls and says we need to reschedule your appointment so after five times I'm done. Next time I go to purchase something again I will make sure A & E Factory Service's are not the people taking care of extended warranties would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Oh, this location of Lowes is soooo frustrating to shop at - if you would like customer service. I have tried for several months to get a bathroom vanity chosen, ordered and installed. There seems to be no "expert" advice from either kitchen or bath cabinet associates. I have, several times, asked, "Is there someone here is know what they are doing?" and have been told, "Well...so and so can help you if you can come back when he's working on such-and-such date!" I cannot understand why Lowes does not have someone who knows what they are doing, in each and every department, every hour of every day they are open for business. The one thing this Lowes does well at is sending someone to your home to get a $50 measurement and bid. After that, good luck. read more

i was sold a deck project from kevin at 'install sales' at lowes on north boardwalk. not only did kevin lie about what he told me over a phone call about needing to change my color choice, however we did not put the change in the contract, i thought i could trust him & lowes, but i was wrong. he & lowes constructed the incorrect color, as well, made several mistakes on the deck. not once did the head of the crew show up as i was told, his name being 'robbie.' the crew was unprofessional. now lowes refuses to correct the color mistake or discount the work, as they would only do the work if i paid up front., so they now have my money. beware buyers!! read more

I am the first to admit, I am not a great DIY'er. However, I do find myself in this store from time-to-time. I typically do not find their staff friendly or helpful. I bought paint a few weeks back from a woman who acted like I had ruined her entire day by asking her to mix a few gallons of paint. That said we recently bought a new home and our washing machine went out the night before we were scheduled to move. We ran to Lowe's on the off chance we could pick one up and have the movers help with the unloading process. I met two of the nicest employees EVER especially for Lowe's. One was in appliances who helped with the whole process and made it quick and easy. The other is typically a delivery driver but had been hurt and was checking folks out. He also was super friendly and helpful. Both gave me advice for hookup and use. I will return to this Lowe's because of these two men. read more
