This is my beloved brother who recently passed away.
    Reza B.

Losing my brother was one of the hardest moments of my life, and during that time Beddingfield Funeral Service gave us something priceless, peace of mind. Christian and Tom handled everything with compassion and respect, from guiding us through the death certificate process to managing all the arrangements to send him from San Jose to Germany. What stood out most was how trustworthy and professional they were. Whatever they said, they delivered. There were no delays, no excuses, no frustration on our side, just everything taken care of exactly the way it needed to be. In a moment of grief, having people you can rely on makes all the difference. Beddingfield allowed us to focus on honoring my brother instead of worrying about logistics. For that, I will always be grateful. Five stars without hesitation.

Buddhist chapel with half casket flowers

We started off the new year with a goodbye and as difficult as it was, the whole process was made easier because of Beddingfield. Around Christmas, we began planning for a funeral and purchased a burial plot from a separate funeral home. We were told that there was a 3-4 week wait list for burial services with this particular funeral home. This was too late since we already had family visiting from out-of-country. Luckily, I stumbled upon Beddingfield as the first result on Yelp. I gave them a call and they were able to schedule us for the same day. We went over all details including caskets, florals, locations, etc. Tom walked us through the entire process, answered all our questions, and itemized everything so it was easy to keep track of. You don't feel trapped in package deals and you get to select what matters. Our total cost here saved us about 5k compared to the funeral home and, most importantly, they had plenty of available dates even within the same week. We wanted a Buddhist chapel and the one provided by Beddingfield was perfect. We selected the monks ourselves but they also offered to look for us. Beddingfield made it easy to request things such as prayer tables and they made sure the funeral was exactly how we wanted it to be to honor our loved one. I appreciate that they were sensitive to our needs and requests. As this was my first time planning a funeral, Beddingfield was a huge and necessary help. I hope I won't have to use their services anytime soon, but when I do, I'll be returning to them.

The store is in a tiny center on a corner with a couple other businesses. Very small parking lot that has one driveway entrance that dead ends (meaning the kind of parking lot where you'd have to back out of you can't turn yourself around to drive out head first). Fortunately, the parking lot was practically empty when I arrived late afternoon within an hour of their closing. The lady at the store was very helpful and understanding. She told me that since the body would be collected at El Camino Hospital, she recommended that I contact their Mountain View location on Castro St, due to proximity to the hospital. She gave me a helpful informational checklist. And she told me more about their process and pricing. This location has a small show room with full size caskets; the Mountain View location is smaller than this, and only has "sample" size display examples mounted on a wall.

We specifically upgraded and paid for a "gold/bronze" boxed urn to bring my mom home in. Instead, after getting home and unwrapping everything with my family, I discovered that her ashes had been placed in a plain plastic container. Because everything was wrapped when it was handed to me, I had no reason to believe anything was wrong. This isn't something most people have experience with, and in that emotional moment I trusted that everything had been prepared correctly. What was equally disappointing was the complete lack of empathy during the pickup. I was simply handed my mother's remains with little acknowledgment of the significance of the moment. There was no effort to verify the contents with me or ensure that everything matched what had been arranged. I have spent the last 20 years caring for my mother, and I also work in healthcare. I understand that people in this profession deal with death and grief every day. However, for families, this is not routine--this is one of the hardest days of our lives. Compassion, attention to detail, and respect matter immensely. The only positive experience I had was with the woman who originally helped my mother make her arrangements about a year before she passed. She was kind, thoughtful, and compassionate. Unfortunately, the care we received afterward did not reflect that same level of professionalism. This was one of the most painful experiences of my life, and the mistakes and lack of compassion only added to our grief. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this business. After discovering the mistake, I immediately contacted the business and am currently waiting for a return call. I sincerely hope they take responsibility for what happened and make this right. I will update my review based on how they choose to address this situation.

Well, from my very first call (when my husband started hospice). I had no clue what I was doing, or what to ask, but Vince was professional, compassionate, and informative. He gave me pointers on how to purchase a burial plot, and offered additional helpful tips. As we ended the call he offered "Call me anytime with questions - even if you don't select us." Who does that?! Lima-Campagna-Alameda does! (I love that they truly are Family Owned) I'd looked at other funeral homes and then met with Angelo (also at Lima) - with my friend in tow. He was equally warm and helpful, and we even managed to share some laughs (thanks to my friend). And after seeing their facilities, the decision was made. Yes, it was a funeral home, but it just felt "right." Very warm and soothing (I know that sounds weird!). Hubby passed much sooner than expected, but we ended up making the final arrangements with Vince (Angelo was sad he couldn't be there that day!). I had taken their advice about finding a plot, and purchasing a casket. They saved me literally thousands of dollars (no joke!). Mind you, funerals ain't cheap - and Lima is not the cheapest (they're definitely not the most expensive either!), but they got us through the whole process as smoothly and painlessly as possible. And I never once felt like I was being nickel-and-dimed to death (can't say the same for some other mortuaries). They don't even make you pay to play your own slide-show/music on the big screen TV during visitation. My husband's funeral was yesterday and it was absolutely perfect in every way. We'd emailed a recent pic to them, and they did an amazing job of making him look very natural. While I hope to not do business with them again (at least not anytime soon!), I want to extend my sincerest gratitude to Vince, Angelo, and the team at Lima-Campagna-Alameda Funeral Home!

I was looking at mortuaries, alone with an unfamiliar duty in an unfamiliar location. I finally turned to Yelp to see what was posted about mortuaries I'd looked at when David from Honor Cremations popped up to say he thought he could help me. I truly felt an instant feeling of safety and trust. Sometimes we're lucky enough to get guidance. David is kind, sympathetic and morale. I spent the next several years feeling secure for when the time came. One of the few things I was able to feel secure about. When my husband did pass in the middle of the night in the veteran hospital hospice, they knew to call Honor. Because it might take time for Honor to arrive, the hospital wanted to take my husband to their mortuary and I refused saying we would wait for Honor. I trusted them and knew he'd be in good hands and those feelings were right. The gentleman who arrived to take my husband helped the nurse prepare him so when he came out of the room he was draped in the American flag. With everything else my husband and I went through with the change in care facilities, finances, and just 'handling it all' as my husband's condition worsened over the years, David's honesty and compassion took this step off my shoulders. I have purchased Honor Cremation for myself, so our children have the confidence to know everything will be taken care of. Thank you David and Honor Cremations. The Memorial: They helped us navigate the details for her memorial with so much respect. Everything was handled professionally, allowing us to focus on honoring her memory rather than worrying about the logistics. I am so grateful to have had their guidance during this time. If you are looking for a team that treats your loved ones with true honor and provides a seamless, compassionate experience, I cannot recommend them highly enough. I also really appreciated the honesty in their business model. I know it could technically be cheaper if they did every single thing in-house, but they intentionally use outside sources for certain steps to ensure everything is handled by specialists. I actually felt like I got more value this way because I knew I was getting the best possible care at every stage. It's also worth noting for other families that they don't have an embalming service; they focus purely on a dignified, natural process which was exactly what we wanted for my mom.
