Awesome massage. Despite the basement location, the place was clean and the decor nicer than I expected. The owner (I assume) was polite both on the phone and in person. I got a $50 1st time customer deal for a 60 min full body, which surprisingly even included some hot stones. The massage was so great, I was actually thinking I should right them a nice Yelp review during the massage... Then, it came time to pay. I tipped the nice young lady $5, and she made the world's rudest exclamation/grunt "$5 dollars!?!". Seeing my shock, the owner then jumped in politely trying to remedy the situation, "$10 minimum tip please, but it's okay if you don't want to". It's great the owner was trying to speak up for his workers, but the approach seemed all wrong. I would have willingly tipped more, but the initially wonderful massage experience was really ruined by the lady's rudeness... Still gave 4 stars, but BEWARE of the $10 minimum tip situation. read more

The salon is in the basement, and the decoration of the room is somewhat dark, but it is all very clean and the music is a bit more exciting than the usual repetitive ocean sounds you get in many other salons. The prices are very reasonable; you pay for the treatment, not for all that extra. And as stated before, the treatment is to the point and just top-notch! I had a groupon for a massage and the price was great after I've paid 150 for a massage that wasn't as good. The place was clean and the massage was perfect. I was so relaxed after the hour I didn't want to leave. The only issue I had was that there was background noise, talking, things dropping and timers going off every 10 minutes. She never asked me about the pressure I enjoyed or if I had any health issues or problem areas. I really enjoyed the massage and she even used hot stones. I am going back! read more

This deal is as good as it gets. I got the 90-minute massage special on Groupon and it was an awesome deal, but to be honest the full-priced options are really fairly priced. Each time you "upgrade" your time limit, the price per minute decreases slightly, but there are plenty of increments so that you don't feel pressured into getting something you don't want. The masseuses were very professional, the space was clean. It may not be the full spa experience with candles and mood lighting, but it was a damn good massage for as cheap as I've seen in NYC. read more

I need to update my review based on my experience yesterday. First, I'd like to say that one of the greatest things about this place is that they can usually accommodate a same day appointment with no issues! I called yesterday afternoon (Monday)to see if I could get a 5:30 appointment... Sure, no problem, sweet! I arrived a little late but it was not a problem. The place was not busy at this time which I like because (as I said in a previous review) the walls aren't enclosed and there are curtain dividers so noise is sometimes heard. Well, this time it was super peaceful and I was able to relax with no disturbances. Now, let me tell you about my masseuse...although, I kind of don't want to because I don't want her to get so booked that I can't ever get an appointment, lol. I will definitely be saying "yeah, I have a girl" now when discussing massages. Her name is Winney. (Which coincidentally is my motorcycle's name so how could I not love her from the start?) She is so sweet and has a quiet demeanor. She checks in with you during the massage. I felt like she went above and beyond of the normal 60 minute massage. I have NEVER received a better, fuller treatment. She started on my back and found the knots to work out. She stretched my legs and massaged them in places that I didn't even know were hurting. She used the hot stones right before I turned over. Then wiped all the oil off with a hot towel which I truly appreciated. God it was amazing. She turned me over, worked on my shoulders and neck a bit more and gave me a banging head massage and who doesn't love when someone also strokes your hair?! Then she massaged my face! Like, what?! And when her buzzer ran out and she wasn't fully done, she didn't half ass it and rush me out. It was spectacular. I have never regularly gotten massages although I probably should because I sit at a desk for ten hours a day, but now, I will be a regular to Winney. I cannot say enough great things about my experience. Winney, when the elite seek you out, please remember us little people. IN ADDITION: I've seen some people terribly pissed because they have to tip. Are you kidding?! Who do you think you are? Someone works on your body for an hour and how dare they want 10 bucks?! If you can't tip someone for your service then stay the F home. It's especially ridiculous when you're coming in on a discounted rate and complaining about tipping. Stop it. You should be embarrassed. You should be tipping more if you liked your massage and certainly NOT complaining about tipping the mandatory minimum. Shame on you. read more

The absolute worst massage I ever had. My boyfriend wanted to treat me for Valentines so he brought a couples massage. He said he had a great massage so I'm only speaking for myself but the lady I had was just awful. It was painful for no reason. Just one hour of absolute torture and on top of that they kept talking and giggling the whole time I was in agony. From the moment it started i said I couldn't wait for this to be over. I told the lady it was painful she just didn't understand. I took it just so my boyfriend wouldn't feel bad that he wasted his money other wise I would have left. Apparently his lady had some great techniques while mine specialized in torture and head banging which I thought "huh why is this lady hitting me In my head?" And those hot stones were fire stoned she burned the heck out of my back. I left there so angry, with pain and a headache but on the bright side my boyfriend had such a great massage. On top of that they were apparently over booked and had to push our time down. So I would not recommend. I almost forgot they used one pump of oil on my back and it ran out afterwards it felt like I was being rugged burned with her hands because they were too cheap to reapply the oil. read more

I came here with a lot of pain and stiffness in my shoulders and neck. I felt soooo good leaving!! The masseuse felt my stiffness and used a hot stone during the massage which was incredible. I only paid $28 for 30 minutes and I think she even gave me some extra minutes. I tipped her $20 since she was so incredible and nice and really deserved the tip. The one star I ticked off is because they go a little too far trying to oversell, going so far as to charge me an extra $10 last time for hard pressure, and the time before that I heard them tell a woman that a ten dollar tip was "mandatory." Well, the people are super nice. Gotta give them that. Very friendly, accomodating, and really listen to what you want. My massuese (can't remember her name unfortunately) was one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Not too chatty (which is great), but made very pleasant conversation and gives you all the right compliments! Unfortunately, It wasn't a very good massage. I was very much looking foward to an hour of relaxation, but found myself tense and still in pain. Kind of an all over the place massage- she would jump from arm to leg to other arm to back and it just didn't feel soothing. If I could give negative stars I would. Rude employees. Act like they are doing you a favor and expect tips even for a bad job. The woman who saw me got upset that I asked for a softer massage because she was so aggressive. Immediately after and for the rest of the massage she was talking and laughing about me with a colleague giving another massage in another room. They were basically yelling over the curtains when everyone was there to "relax." I didn't leave a tip and she ran after me and goes "tip." It was ok. We bought an expensive groupon deal for couples massage after a long day of shopping and eating around the neighborhood. Before we got started I noticed the towel was unwashed from previous massage and very oily. Vegetable oil smell. Massage was good. We had a couples room but they closed the curtain in between us that made me feel like I was in a hospital rather than a spa. My masseuse used way too much oil on me enough enough to fry an egg. After a rub down most places wipe the oil off first, however she covered my back with the towel and moved onto my legs. Like I said. My husband and I go to Bedford N6 Spa at least once a month! The rooms are basic and clean, and the massages are consistently great. The massage therapists are super attentive and always ask for your preferred pressure and areas you want to focus on. Their prices are excellent ($60/hour, but they may still be running their opening special $50/hr) and I always leave feeling better than when I arrived. On top of all that, the staff is very nice, especially Charlie the manager! The owners own a nail salon down the street too - also great. read more

Great for a quick foot massage or chair massage. I work out a lot and sit at a desk a lot. The result is a variety of aches and sore muscles. The ladies at N6 can always massage them out. It feels a bit odd going down into a basement for a relaxing experience but it is worth it. In the summer you will hear street noises outside because the door is left open. I sort of like that though. If you are looking for the super quiet experience with a very private room and cucumber water this is not for you. read more
