I'm writing to you to expose Bedrock Legal Group which is a Debt Consolidation Company that takes advantage of their clients and their money. This company will leave you handling your own legal issues with creditors, remaining balances from creditors which turn into garnishment.
I found myself in a financial bind and wanted to consolidate some bills to pay off creditors. Therefore, I enrolled 9 accounts in a Debt Consolidation Program with Bedrock Legal Group (Client ID# B10014279702) for 4 years. I was enrolled in this program from 9/08/2017 to 8/17/2021. This company was automatically drafting payment from my checking account which was going into a saving account for them to pay off my creditors. I was paying them approximately $695.66 per month which total $33,346.98 of total payment into the saving account.
Out of the 9 accounts enrolled they only settled 7. However, I was never contacted by Bedrock Legal and advised that 3 accounts weren't handled. I was under the impression that all accounts were negotiated and paid off in 2021. In November 2022 I received a garnishment letter about my Macy's account and then another letter in March 2023 in reference to my Sears Citibank account. This prompted me to reach out to Bedrock Legal to find why I'm receiving garnishment letters.
When I called Bedrock Legal, I wasn't given a valid reason of why the Macy's account was never touched and handled for settlement. I sent a copy of the garnishment letter to Bedrock hoping they would assist in stopping the garnishment and reaching out to the creditor. There was no legal action made on their part. Which left my wages to be garnished. I took out a loan of $6935.44 to payoff Macy's myself to stop the garnishment. Please, keep in mind this balance was settled at a higher amount from when it was enrolled in the program. I paid a total of $12,847.70 in provider fees and was not represented by Bedrock in this matter. I asked to be credited any fees on this account since I had to settle this matter myself. I submitted a request for credit in December 2022 and it's still under review. I also brought to Bedrocks attention in December 2022 that the same law firm (Tenaglia & Hunt) handling Macy's also had my Sears account. I notified them of this information hoping this would stop any garnishment on the other account.
When I received the second garnishment letter about my Sears account. I reached out to Bedrock inquiring information. I was advised by every representative that I spoke with that this account was paid and settled. I asked for documentation of this and was sent a copy of a settlement letter that this account was supposed to be paid off in 18 payments from 4/30/2019 to 9/30/2020. After reviewing my account and working with the company (Reliant) that send out payments for the accounts in the program. I was shown 6 payments were sent and the last 2 voided. Which means only 4 payments were made. I had to bring this to the attention of Bedrock Legal and inquired why this happened. I'm just find out in March 2023 that the settlement was withdrawn by the creditor and a new negotiation was never submitted by Bedrock Legal. I was told by them that the negotiator that set up the settlement no longer works for the company. Therefore, this account sat dormant from 2019 to 2023. When the settlement was negotiated there was enough in the saving account to settle all 18 payments. Now Bedrock Legal is looking for me to make more payments in the program to settle the two remaining accounts (Sears and Evine) in the program. I feel these 2 remaining accounts should be settled by them. I don't trust putting additional fund in a program where funds are being mishandled.
This company won't do anything to assist me unless I put more funds into the saving account. I'm now left to handling my legal issues on my own. I can't even get information from the creditor because Bedrock Legal has a power of attorney on my account. I went down to the Queens Civil Court on 4/14/23 to submit "Order to Show Cause" to stop the garnishment for now. Once again, I'm faced with a higher balance from when the account was enrolled in the program and the creditor is not willing to negotiate. They want payment in full for $9,060.87. I'm seeking credits for any fees I have paid to this company hoping it will help in resolving my remaining accounts.
I did everything this company ask of me so all accounts could be settled. I sent all creditor letters, summons and paid my auto draft payment every month to still be in debt for $20,496.31. I must appear back in court on 05/12/2023 to try and resolve my Sears account. I regret enrolling into this program it's been nothing buy a headache and numerous calls to them to get the run around. I still have a credit balance in my saving account of $1566.66 which is being lower by monthly fees from "Reliant" their payment vendor. The only way to stop the fees is to cancel out of the program. read more
