It's ok-ish....NOT THAT CHEAP, I thought they had cheap prices until they finally treated me with such extreme rudeness that I found another, far better nearby store with *MUCH CHEAPER PRICES*, at Warehouse Wine & Spirits at Broadway at Astor Place, who also delivers to the east village, POLITELY! However Rudeness is the least serious problem with this business...FAR WORSE is that they sell OPENED, UNSEALED BOTTLES AND NOT ONLY REFUSE TO EXCHANGE OR REFUND, THE STORE ONWNER VERBALLY ATTACKED ME AND HUNG UP ON ME AFTER SHOUTING HATEFUL WORDS I WILL NOT REPEAT HERE. Sold me a corked bottle of Dunn Howell Mountain Cab 2004. When uncorking, the cork fell apart. The bottle was open for roughly one hour and the taste was not only flat but tasted rancid. The store told me to come back and claimed nothing was wrong. A fellow shopped who said she shopped there for years overheard the conversation, asked to try the wine and spit it out. Bee is every bit as cheap and shitty as previous reviewers have suggested. So far everything I've bought there has inebriated me, to one degree or another. My credit cards always work in their machine, and there are never any smashed bottles lying around on the ground. Wine that comes out of the fridge is cold. Just don't go to Bee's looking for beer: it's not that their beer is old and skunky or that the beer comes in cracked, leaking bottles; it's that they don't have beer. There's a pretty cool neon sign in the front window that says "Dewar's Rocks." I like the ambiguity of it. Does it mean that Dewar's is great -- that it "rocks"? Or is it referencing the "rocks" of Dewar's -- its nuts, cojones? The graphic is actually a pirate (or something) holding a guitar, which suggests a third, really stupid meaning: that Dewar's plays rock music (?). Incidentally, if you go to the Dewar's website -- which I just did, looking for a reproduction of the neon sign to show you -- you are asked on the front page to enter your date of birth. You have to at least claim to be 21 before you're given access to any of the site's content. This got me pretty excited. I was expecting that the Dewar's site would feature pictures of -- at minimum -- topless women drinking whisky. No, though. It just has pictures of Dewar's in closed bottles. You have to be 21 to look at pictures of alcohol? And read about the distilling process? As a father of a 5-year-old: Thank god. Anyway, there's absolutely no reason not to head to Bee Liquors right now. Don't bother if you're after beer. Ahhh Bee liquors...my home away from home. The employees are amazing. I'll walk in at 11 am, get a solid 4+ second hug, and then tell them "I literally have $10. What's the cheapest prosecco I can get with that?" They will smile and without judgement point me in the right direction. "Mimosas?" they will ask "Well it IS tuesday." I'll say I'll pay for the bottle and then I'll buy a $1.00 scratch off and whoever is working will double check the barcode even though I clearly have not won. Again. They are just THAT nice. They also have this really weird canned sparkling wine in a can. It comes with a straw. I get a few every time I'm going to the airport. 10/10 would recommend. Bee Liquors is as good as it gets when it comes to liquor stores. What do you want when you enter a liquor store? You want to get drunk cheaply? Bee's a couple of bucks cheaper than many liquor stores in the neighborhood. You want that obscure honey liqueur or the premium Jim Beam? Bee's got it. You want to be able to see what you're getting? This place has cheap bottles of almost everything and is right by my apartment. The only thing I don't like is that they only do cash for deliveries and have a minimum in-store if paying by credit card (only $10). Kind of aggravating considering I'm in there all the time. Give the regulars a break already. Also the place down the street is also open till midnight on the weekends, so you'd think they'd extend their hours consider the location of East Village and Stuytown residents. This is the liquor store I go to whenever I need to get drunk. It's pretty much the best liquor store in my area (around 10th and B), when you consider the selection and the prices. They have pretty much any kind of liquor that you can think of, sitting on shelves covering every inch of the side wall. Stockpiled throughout the rest of the room are wines from various parts of the world. The selection is pretty diverse and the quality above average. Prices are not as cheap as some discount or warehouse wine stores, but cheaper than most other similar liqour stores in the city. The staff is always friendly and if you're lucky, they put on a show, throwing bottles to each other as they are passed to the cash register. read more

Let me just say first off, Bee Liquors is THE crown jewel of the East Village; the kind of place that makes you remember why you moved to the City That Never Sleeps! The staff at Bee is fantastic.The manager, Chip, is a delightful man that gives you a warm verbal greeting once he sees a familiar face browsing the White Zinfandel aisle, and let me tell you, Chip does NOT forget a single customer. Cristian, the checkout man, is always excited to share his expertise and just itching for a friendly conversation. Further, this place is so so cheap. You can tell that you are getting the right price at a quality liquor establishment. You don't find that everyday in The Big City. Alright, another first for me. From the outside it looks like your average ghetto Liquor store. Inside is a different story. Well kind of. By no means is this as nice as Astor Wines or as cheap as Trader Joes, but it's surprisingly big and has a great selection. You can find your 2 buck chuck there (now a days it's more like an 8 buck chuck) but they also have some good vineyards on hand that could satisfy the snobbiest of connoisseurs . They accept credit cards and their right down the block. The Chinese guy that's normally running the show there is pretty nice too. read more
