Beech is EXACTLY the smoothie place you want in this location. Right in the middle of all the action, in between errands, and next to a Harry T. We made a quick Beech run on our way back from....you guessed it....the BEACH and on our way to pick up some groceries. Servers were busy, but friendly, and got our order out quickly. We ordered "the greenest smoothie possible," enjoyed the hell out of it, replenished, and were quickly on our way. The server even gave me a leftover sidecar. Much appreciated, young lady. read more

I came here with my buddy and we had a good time and I knew we were gonna have a good time because I paid for him and I think the main reason I wanted to do that was because today has been a good day. I got a little bit confused about what pokey is but thanks to the waitress or the lady who took my order. We got that sorted out. I enjoyed the food and also I think it gave me good luck because today I found three things that I had been looking for the first was and also this is in order of when I found them. The first was my jean shorts were in my friend sam's car, and he dropped them off after he took his practice test. for the MCAT and then I was in my underwear drawer sorry to make this PG-13 but I found a voodoo Shrimp, which is a lure. I use for fishing and I've been looking for that for a while and then I found my tennis racket in my closet. It fell out when I tried to pull out my tie. A little disappointed in the Nutella toast. Usually you get a full slice of thin sourdough. I don't know what this bread was but it was the tiniest piece. I've ordered this many times and even tho it's never been consistent in the amount of toppings on the toast (never once has it been the same), I was not at all expecting such a small piece of bread. I used to get an açaí bowl at least once a week. I don't think I'll be coming any longer. The last three times in a row, my bowl has had less and less açaí. The bowl it comes in has also shrunk. With a $2 tip, the bowl is over $17! This is basically a tiny fruit bowl with a tiny scoop of açaí. Biggest waste of money I've spent on lunch in a long time. Too bad, it used to be great even if it was a little pricey. Now it's just a scam. read more

I love a poke bowl but I need help in knowing what flavors go together. I also love whatever sweet soy / poke sauce places typically put on their bowls -- Beech does not do this and I wish I knew the name of the sauce so I could have requested it. My friend and I had lunch at Beech yesterday. It was my first visit, but my friend lives up the road and loves their acai bowls. When she mentioned poke, I was all in. The space is clean and cute, but freezing cold inside. We were welcomed right away by a nice girl at the register. I ordered the OG avocado poke bowl with brown rice and tuna. The flavor was great, and the tuna was fresh, but I do feel like it was a lot of rice. Next time I'll get the zucchini noodles. I love the pickled cukes with the combination of everything else. I will say, however, that it was pretty heavy on the sauce/spicy mayo. It was tasty, just more than i expected. My friend asked for light sauce and I wish I'd have done the same. Overall really good. I added a bottle of Honest Tea and spent $20. I'll go back when I'm on that side of town. I'd like to try a different combo and give the acai bowls a try, too. read more

We got two acai bowls. Staff wasn't overly friendly but the food came out quickly. The bowls were fine but fruit on top could have been fresher. The blueberries and strawberries were really mushy. We sat outside with the dogs which was nice. I love the downtown location but this one is not it. read more

My husband just surprised me with takeout poke bowls from this new business on James Island! I had The Original "OG" with tuna, avocado, pickled cucumber, scallion, sesame seeds and spicy Mayo on a base of zucchini noodles. It was so fresh and delicious! I meant to take a picture but it was gone before I remembered. My husband had The Original "OG" with salmon on a base of white rice. It was more filling than my bowl due to the rice. Both bowls were so tasty and a great value! Pickup to go at the store is super easy and the staff is very friendly. We will be back here again and again! So excited to have a new, great dining choice close to home. read more

I have been to Beech a couple times now, and I generally get the same thing: Poke Bowls. I think they have really good flavors, the fish has been consistently fresh. The staff are friendly and quick. There is an option to order with their staff or if you're feeling introverted, there's a way to order your food using their self-service kiosk. As you can see from my photo, they are not stingy with the toppings. The flavor profile is authentic enough, the only criticism I have is that they don't use "sushi rice" or as many people know it as short grained rice. It's softer and sticker and I think it goes with Poke bowls more. Despite this small criticism, it hasn't deterred me from going again. If they added sushi rice and maybe some boba I probably would go to Beech too much. read more

I love poke, so I'm a bit biased. However, I can say I couldn't be more thrilled that there is now a place to grab a bowl on James Island. The place is small and has limited seating, but there is a nice outdoor patio area that looks great! I only can in to get a poke bowl so that's all I can speak for, but they do have several other juice and açaí options. I got the sweet fire bowl with tuna. When I first got the bowl I noticed pickled jalapeños and questioned how they would pair with the other flavors. Whatever they did to them makes the bowl work! I demolished it and wished I had another. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning sooner than later! read more

Beech on Maybank Highway on James Island is a great place to go for bowls, juice, and much more. Everything here is fresh and delicious and makes you feel better after eating. I've had better experiences here, which is why it's getting two instead of one star. But this was so bad I couldn't not write a review. There was so much sauce it was more like a stew, and even then the bowl was only about 2/3 full, and that was after paying for extra chicken and other ingredients. I couldn't tell if it tasted good or not because it was all sauce. In the end I was sitting there straining it to try to get the bits of macadamia nut I'd added. I may give it one more chance but it won't be anytime soon. read more

It's disappointing that in an area surrounded by water, a poke bowl would be this bad. For 16$, I had a gross, over sauced (like a gross mayo based sauce too) bowl with overcooked rice. To be fair the fish was of good quality but the bowl was terrible. read more

Fresh "pressed" juice is a false advertisement. Using a centrifugal juicer is not pressing the juice. Also your staff likes to close up shop a half hour early, walked in and they were pulling stuff out of the back to make my order. If you're open until 8pm the be ready to take a full order of anything as late as 759pm. read more

Ordered the Vintage breakfast sandwich online after seeing toasted bread and ooey gooey cheese and…read moreeggs in the online pictures. The order was ready when I arrived as promised, super simple to pick up online orders. The roasted tomato and crispy prosciutto were delicious, but I feel like they really missed an opportunity to toast up the sourdough! The bread was barely warm and just not toasted. Otherwise, very generous portion and lots of goodness inside.
