I was staying at a hotel just down the street and our experience was so good, My son and I had breakfast two days in a row here. The homemade bread, perfectly cooked eggs, homemade local sausage, fresh local breads from the bakery around the corner, which I believe was Stick Figure or something like that, and probably the best pancake I've had in years. I also enjoyed a locally sourced tea, which was absolutely lovely. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and apparently all the ingredients were sourced from local farms and bakeries! The toast wasn't your average white bread you'd get in a diner, it was from Stickboy Bakery down the street. The sausage patties hands-down would have made this meal worth it, but did they stop there? Of course not! These grits were the most beautiful grits I've ever seen. I don't know what they're doing, but I love it! Their tea wasn't quite up to my standards, but they have a great selection. If I were them, I would skip the little French press thing they serve the tea in (it winds up with your second cup being steeped way too long) and maybe switch to a teapot or something similar. Also, I don't think they were using filtered water for the tea; it makes such a difference in the flavor. (To be honest, I had to leave my old tea place back in Virginia, and I am dying to find a new one here. And if a few tips help make me a good tea spot, all the better!) The ambiance was so relaxed. I loved the use of vintage mugs for the tea. Definitely a great place to stop by and read a book, or study if you're one of the students at the university a few blocks away. Service was delightful. I absolutely plan to go back!
