cute little breakfast spot. it was graduation weekend so you would think they'd have more help but it was 1 waitress for the whole restaurant, so they were extremely busy.. the food was good. it's hard to mess up breakfast. 7 of us ate for 125$. average price for today's time. we will be back if we are ever in banner elk again.

Staff was nice and friendly. Place was kind of small but most places are in a small town. Country fried steak was delicious. Coffee was lacking. Food was over all good and didn't take too long. Like that they served breakfast later than other places. Think it was 1

We came here during our holiday weekend in Banner Elk. The staff was super friendly and the food was great. Super quick turn around time and accurate as you know how picky everyone is about their breakfast. I ordered the quiche which was to my surprise very fresh and warm. the cranberries were a nice refreshing to my usual morning breakfast. My wife had the biscuits and gravy which were her new favorite as the cheesy grits as her side made her morning. Over the weekend this little establishment always had a line out the door so be patient as they are short handed but this is definitely worth the wait.

We decided to try out this place as they serve breakfast past the usual 11am cutoff. We did have to wait a bit as it was a pretty busy Sunday. Not much room inside so plan to hang on the front porch. I told the waitress we were parked out front and she came to our car when the table was ready. Menu has some good staples: pancakes, French toast, several omelettes, eggs, sausage, biscuits n gravy, burgers and several other hand-helds. We opted for an omelette and a Rueben and being nearly mid day decided to split the French toast. Everything was solid. The omelette was a hearty portion for sure. French toast was great and although the fries were crinkle cut and ho-hum, the sandwich was solid. Our server was happy to get refills despite this place being pretty busy. I thought the prices were fair and we enjoyed our cozy corner.

Good breakfast in the high country. Lots of options. A little pricey but too be expected in Banner Elk. Customizable options are nice. Coffee had great rich flavor. Service was friendly even while pretty busy. My son's pancakes and bacon were delicious since he couldn't finish them all I got a taste.

There is a sign outside the door that at first turned me off. It tells you that you do not have to put your name on a list; you need to stand in a single file line and wait for a staff member to be called in and be seated. There were t o tables waiting to be seated before us and we only had to wait around 5 minutes. Not bad at all. As he was walking us in he was asking us if we wanted coffee (more points) which we both did. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the blue plastic cup on the table housed the creamers. Service and friendliness definitely an A*. Food tasted good but not very attractive. I had the quiche and my husband the three egg plate. My side of fruit was not fresh at all.

I love this place! I am in town for a wedding and wanted to find a brunch spot neat places I can walk around before I get ready for the wedding. This apot is pretty popular as there was a bit of a wait. You do not put your name down, but you just wait in line until there is room for your group. While the wait was a bit long, it was totaply worth it for the meal! I got the Steak and Eggs and my fiancé and my friend both got the Hugry Rooster. There was so much food! And everything tasted great. My steak was cooked medium rare as I requested and had a good amount of tendons which I prefer (may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is mine). And the caramel cappuccino was delicious! If you have a swert tooth I hoghly recommend. I was jealous that my fiancé ans friend had waffles that come woth their already filled plate but thankfully they let me try their waffles and I also liked it a lot! Very fluffy, not overly crunchy. And the bathroom was super clean! Love it!!! Come here for a hearty breakfast that is great value!

On this last trip, we went twice. I got the Beth Ann Clark both times. I just love their cheesy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, fruit, and french toast. My husband tried two different entrees this time--the Butch Triplett (corned beef and eggs) and their breakfast burrito. Their corned beef is likely from a can, but it's so good because they cook it so it's very crispy. I always steal some of his corned beef to add to my eggs! Their breakfast burrito is amazing. It's simply filled, with just scrambled eggs, cheese, small bits of ham, and hash browns. It's topped with an enchilada sauce that is similar to a ranchero sauce, and is served with sour cream and guacamole. It's a massive burrito, and SO GOOD! My husband said it's his new favorite. Social on Main is popular, and so we always go early (before 8am). After 8am, there is usually a wait--especially on Saturdays. Their servers are always friendly, and the food is delivered fast. Their coffee is nice and strong, too. I wish we had a Social on Main near our house, because we'd visit them weekly. Give them a try if you are in Blowing Rock for a visit and want a great breakfast!

Elegant inside and out, friendly service and top notch food. We sat at the bar and our bartender took care of us all evening. Had one of the best old fashioned's in the area. He knows his stuff! The food was fine dining at its best. A garlic buttered escargot with puff pastry just melts in your mouth. Lobster bisque full of flavor and full of, well, lobster, and a ton of it. I have to say, the extra touch to the tasty French onion soup was a talking point all evening...it came with dedicated scissors so you could cut the cheese. What an amazing touch. And they sure did help lol. The center cut medium rare filet mignon paired with some frites was definitely the showstopper this evening. Thick, tender and juicy...one of the best steaks on all levels. Whenever we're in town and want an elegant evening out, this is the spot!

It's a…read morebeautiful restaurant, and I had been looking forward to dining there for quite some time. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere, however, felt a little mixed. The restaurant seemed to have two distinct personalities. The newer side, where the bar is located, felt polished and cohesive, while the older dining room--where we were seated because it had more availability--felt like it hadn't quite received the same attention. The lighting on that side of the restaurant was particularly harsh, which made the dining room feel less intimate than it could have been. Since it's also the larger and busier dining space, I think small touches like candles on the tables or softer lighting would go a long way toward creating a warmer, more personal atmosphere. I also noticed an interesting contrast between the beautiful leather-bound menus and some of the furniture and wall décor, which felt more reminiscent of a hotel dining room than the upscale mountain restaurant the food suggested. Thankfully, the meal more than made up for those observations. I ordered the wild mushroom pasta with lobster, and it was the standout dish of the evening. The pasta was rich without feeling heavy, the mushrooms added wonderful depth, and the lobster was cooked beautifully. It's a dish I'd gladly order again. My boyfriend ordered a steak, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We also started with the escargot and the crab cakes. The escargot, while not quite on the level of some traditional French restaurants I've visited, was still very well prepared and enjoyable. The crab cakes were outstanding--full of crab, nicely seasoned, and easily one of the best appetizers of the meal. Our only complaint was that there was only one crab cake on the plate; we both found ourselves wishing there had been another. Overall, Stonewalls Restaurant delivered an excellent meal with genuinely welcoming service. While I'd love to see the older dining room updated to better match the quality of the cuisine, the food alone makes it well worth a visit if you're in Banner Elk.
