Will have to come back on a Wednesday

This is the kind of place that families have been coming for generations. You definitely step back in time. Its divey. We started with the onion rings which are hand battered! They were not bad but I prefer a thinner cut onion ring. The comeback sauce they served with it was great. I ordered the Beechwood Special with a 6 once filet medium rare with creamed spinach. The filet was a lower quality cut but you get what you pay for ... steak, salad and side all for about $44. The service was very good... no complaints there. There is a bar area and I am told entertainment on the weekends. It was fun to try a new restaurant.

Food was average, service was good atmosphere was lacking in my opinion because everything was outdated looking and the worst part for me was the smell. The place smelled like a nursing home or at least it smelled like they use the same type cleaning products, my wife agreed when I made the comment. The ceilings have water stains from either the a/c duct work sweating or roof leaking and there's no telling what might be going on up there. Overall I'd give this place a 3.5 star.

Terrible. Took at least 45 minutes to get a plate lunch and then it came out cold. Manager wouldn't give discount. Located in an old, gross building that hasn't been updated in 50 years. Highly recommend looking for lunch elsewhere.

Yah baby. I had a local tell me this place has been around 67 years. I thought why not? After a day at the military park I was hungry ! Man the Beechwood Classic hit the spot. The steak was perfectly cooked. Melted in my mouth and their au jus is fantastic. Large fried shrimp and a nice hot bun. I punished myself the white chocolate bread pudding. This is a local gem !

    Fried green tomatoes...YUM!

I was told that the full menu is available at 2PM on Sundays. Is this true? I would love to have their fried oysters. Can you post that particular menu with prices here?

I'm not sure. We are our dinner and left. Sorry!

There are not a lot of Yelpers in Vicksburg but Rusty's had some great reviews so we decide to try it. Nice location near the river and plenty of street parking. We were seated quickly after our full party arrived. There is nothing fancy about this place but clean and simple. When you walk in you see the desserts in the cooler in the front and they all look delicious and homemade. We saw some dinner rolls being brought to the table but we were not offered any so we asked and they are free. So make sure to ask. They are yummy little yeast rolls with some sweet (maybe honey) butter. I tried a Bahama mama that was tasty and we liked the fried calamari (7/10). This place is a mostly seafood restaurant with a few good options if you don't or can't eat seafood. We had two in our party that does not eat seafood and they enjoyed the blacked chicken. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty. The start of the dinner was the Redfish with the craw fish cream sauce. DE-licious!! I enjoyed the seafood pasta. It's a lemon butter sauce not creamy but I liked it! It came with a side so I tried a cup of gumbo for $3 up-charge. It was worth it. Very good gumbo with sausage, shrimp, scallops, and an oyster! Looking forward to going back!

The fried green tomatoes with the crab sauce were fantastic as was the gumbo, fried catfish and blackened chicken. Save a little room for the bread pudding with the Makers Mark sauce, the best bp I've ever had and the largest. Better plan on sharing it. Despite it being busy our server was friendly and attentive. Parking is street so you may have to walk a bit Furnishings were good and you don't feel squeezed in.

Brunch entrées included a small salad or fruit cup, and a dessert. We enjoyed our salads with balsamic dressing. For an entrée, I chose seafood, gumbo, and my husband, the shrimp and grits. The cheesy, creamy grits with the best I ever tasted, and my husband doesn't like shrimp, but he devoured them. The steak and seafood entrees - not so much, but the birria tacos were great. Atmosphere - Casual, ocean or fish themed. It's bright blue. They play country music (the kind you hear at the beachy restaurants) like "5 O'Clock Somewhere." There are a couple of fish tanks in there. The kids thought that was cool. Just about every kid who walked in immediately began singing the "Daddy Shark doo-doo" song. So in that aspect it's kind of cute. Service - OK. No issues. Our waiter was kind. Overall: I made the mistake of thinking, "I don't want to order Mexican at a Seafood & Steakhouse when Clinton has 5011 other Mexican restaurants." I was wrong. You will actually want to do just that.

Daddy Shark - Dinner Visit Went to Daddy Shark this evening…read morewith my wife for dinner. We started with the fried mushroom appetizer, which came out looking a little overdone and dry -- almost like they might have been reheated. They were hot and juicy inside, but I found the mushrooms a bit tough and chewy. My wife liked hers, though, and said they were fine, so maybe I just got a few rough ones. The breading was very crunchy, almost too much so for my taste. For my main dish, I had the ribeye tacos, which came with Mexican rice and something that seemed halfway between refried beans and bean soup -- kind of an odd consistency, but surprisingly it was probably the best thing I had. The ribeye was finely chopped, which made the tacos easy to eat, but it also seemed like a way to hide bits of gristle that were mixed in. The tacos were topped with fresh avocado slices and plenty of cilantro, but overall they were a bit short on flavor. My wife had the Country Salmon, which was cooked well and topped with a creamy spinach and mushroom sauce. She said it was just okay -- not bad, but nothing special. Her side salad could have been better; the tomatoes were barely out of the green stage and would've been better fried than served fresh, since they weren't nearly ripe. The ambiance was definitely unique. There are a lot of Mexican-style dishes on the menu, but the restaurant has an undersea theme -- walls covered in bright cartoon murals of sharks, fish, and octopuses. Very kid-friendly and cheerful. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and our waiter was attentive and efficient, aside from letting my tea glass go empty once. Overall, it was a fair experience. Not bad, but I'll expect more on the next visit -- assuming we come back to try some of their other dishes that might be stronger.
