TX paid, but honey I'm definitely MISSISSIPPI raised I was too busy eating for pictures !! Went to Berry's for the lunch buffet and ate good! I ate so much food for a reasonable price. I've had the dinner buffet before and it is really good as well!! Everything was seasoned well. I didn't eat anything that I didn't enjoy. I love how my drink was still cold because of the cup to they serve the drinks in. The ambiance is very family style and it is good for big groups. We had a group of 20 and we were accommodated well. Now here's for the breakdown of the buffet that I can remember. Meats: catfish, pork chops, chicken, blackened catfish, fried liver, bbq chicken, fried shrimp, and pot roast Sides and veggies: greens, black eyed peas, fried okra corn, fried green tomatoes, rice (sorta like a dirty rice), mashed potatoes, yams, hush puppies, mac &cheese, Mexican corn bread, regular corn bread, corn salad, salad bar, pasta salad, etc Desserts: plenty were available. Best buffet of any type that I can recall in recent experience; fantastic fish & meat entrees, delicious desserts, good service, and decent sides & salads. Apparently, I still do like buffets. It just has to be in a barn - in Mississippi! I've seen a lot about Berry's online and when I realized that it was less than 30 minutes from me, I just had to give it a try. This is seriously, the best buffet I've ever been to. Food: Crab cakes are amazing! Turnip greens, mac n cheese, fried okra, and bang bang shrimp, all were delish! Fried catfish was pretty ok. Could have been a little more crisp - and seasoned. There were so many choices. Saturday night is seafood night. They also had flounder Parmesean, seafood pasta, crawfish etouffee, stuffed crab, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, and crab legs. There was also steak and chicken tenders on the bar. Steak was good. There were quite a few salads to choose from and dessert as well. Note: You can order from the menu if you don't want the buffet. Service: Good - no issues. Price: About $40 per person for the standard dinner buffet. More if you add the unlimited crab leg option. Atmosphere: Country style buffet. Very southern themed. Waitresses are in overalls, religious decor, and worship music playing over the speaker and on the tvs. I actually appreciated the Maverick City playlist today. It was packed so if you go in the weekend for dinner, be prepared for a wait. There's a lady with a jewelry stand near the waiting area. We had a family reunion over the weekend and this place was next to the hotel where we were lodging. The first ting you see is a HUGE CROSS and a BIG RED BARN that says Berry's! I'm not sure if the cross has to do with Berry's or not. I'm just noting a landmark. You needs to be very hungry when you go. You will shortchange yourself if you eat only one late of food. There are "plate" options if you choose instead of the buffet. The food was good. Especially the fried catfish! They did have other variations of catfish but I did not try them. I do not eat crab legs so I cannot comment on them. They do charge extra if you want them as part of the buffet though. The vegetables were tasty. Even though the greens looked canned, they were very southern with the flavor. As we say "they hooked them up!" The only thing that threw me for a loop was the atmosphere! It's called Berry's as in Mayberry from the Andy Griffith show!! The cups and plates were tin that you would see from cowboy shows! And the walls were littered with scenes from the show EVERYWHERE ON EVERY WALL. There is even a nativity type of the characters fishing! The place was packed with all kinds of people though. Even with the tin plate and cup, I would eat there again. However, I doubt that I'm ever in that area again! read more

Stopped for a Friday dinner time seafood fix while headed to Florida. Adult seafood buffet without the crab leg upgrade, a drink, taxes and tip is $36.95. The standouts for me included the fried shrimp, chicken, and catfish. The bang bang shrimp was very tasty. Also enjoyed the frog legs and okra. God is just good! We went to Berry's Seafood in Florence, MS! It is always our place to stop as we found it many years ago on my mom's birthday when we really needed some comfort after being in the hospital with My lil sister after she broke her back. There are pictures of Christ and a very interesting decor. I love that the 10 Commandments are at the door and a ginormous cross to welcome you. I always admire their fall display and was looking at the flowers this year. I just thought one of them was so pretty. I spotted a guy taking care of them and I asked what it was and instead he pulled them up and bagged them for me to take home. They are always so kind and even the waitress signed our receipt with this blessing. God is just so sweet. Our whole trip was special, but that just reminded me of what the foot of the cross should look like. read more

Very overpriced, and they don't accommodate handicapped people who can't walk very good. Came here with my elderly parents, and asked for a table near to buffet because they can't walk very good, and was told none are available but we saw several that were empty. I ate here years ago in the old building that's now a Mexican place. It was the seafood buffet night, and I was not impressed. My wife and I ate on a Wednesday this time, and the food was very good. Probably the best quality I have had from a buffet. The fried shrimp and blackened fish were way better than I remembered. But everything was very good. And I tried almost everything. My wife got a hamburger steak off the menu as she didn't want to over estimate. It was huge, and very good. Her baked potato was the only disappointing item we had. I think the concept of this restaurant is for the diners to be present, to fellowship, put your phones down, and enjoy dinner. Well, let's start from the beginning in the parking lot. I was welcomed by the tallest cross I have ever seen in my life. Walking up to the front door, the song "In Jesus' Name" by Katie Nichole was playing on the speakers. I stood there for a second, listening; it's a favorite of mine. Standing there, I notice Bible scriptures and pictures of Jesus everywhere. It continued inside the restaurant. I went to Berry's for their seafood Buffet. They were decorated for Christmas. It's a Christian establishment so there were Jesus theme pictures and music. We went on a Wednesday evening and the music was calmer worship style and not too loud. Don't let the music deter you especially if you're with others. You guys will be eating, chatting, laughing and getting food. Just go and enjoy the food. There was tons of food, like chicken, turkey, fried fish and shrimp. Other meats were on the menu that were not included in buffet. There were sides galore such as mashed and sweet potatoes, dressing, greens, limas, fried corn, corn on cob, rice, gravy, fried tomatoes and okra, Mac and cheese, some other pastas, green salad ingredients, potato salad, ambrosia. There were also at ten desserts out such as chocolate and coconut cake, bread pudding, peach cobbler and apple pie. I missed a lot and only remember this amount.There's plenty of space and parking. The staff was wonderful and helpful. Our only issue was with the tipping. It was automatically added to bill. A 12-15% tip was automatically added to bill, each of our three bills we will be back but will check that more closely. Today is my birthday! If you show the waitress proof that it's your birthday you eat the buffet free! Yea! The food was warm and delicious. The staff were all super friendly. Our wait time was around 10 minutes. They have a large rustic dining area that will hold a couple hundred people. We try to eat here a couple of times each year. We were driving from La to Fla on Hwy 49 and stopped at Berry's for a late lunch. Such an interesting establishment. The staff couldn't have been friendly and accommodating. They were in the middle of the lunch buffet. I'm not that familiar with southern style food but I decided to try it all. From turnip greens, fried okra and dirty rice to fried catfish, fried shrimp and black eyed peas. Everything was delicious. The staff would never let the serving platters get empty. Then came dessert. I do know peach cobbler and enjoyed it immensely. They offered many desserts all looked yummy but I stuck to the cobbler. If you're over 65, law enforcement or military they offer 20 % off. The walls are covered with bible verse and painting of Jesus with gospel music videos playing.
