We were referred to Juan and Xtreme Roofing. Juan came promptly, surveyed the damage, and provided an estimate (insurance did not pay for the roof, but they were great at covering the interior work). Not only was the estimate reasonable--as well as the final cost--but the work was done efficiently and on schedule. The insurance company then spent some time flying a drone over the finished work to verify satisfactory completion. (Some of the problems resulted from an improper installation of a plumbing drain vent [no flashing was used] during the original construction--26 years ago; other issues were simply age related in conjunction with poor drainage design.) We plan to have them come regularly to make sure everything remains waterproof and in good repair--we do not want to go through the destruction and renovation process again.

We had a bee infestation problem that had built their hive hidden under our roof. We had contacted…read moreseveral companies to come out, remove the bees and repair the roof but none were willing to do the job. We contacted Meyer's General Construction & Home Repair to look at the problem and give us a quote if they could do the job. Dallen came out, said he could do the job, gave us a very honest and reasonable quote, and ended up removing a 70 lb. hive that had been built (by the bees) in the dead space between the roof and the flashing. The only way to remove it was to disassemble the roofing tiles, cut out and remove the plywood area where the hive was located, and then rebuild the roof. Dallen did a wonderful job and we were so thankful for his service!

Ryan from Getter Done just left after 4 hours of working in my backyard planting some bushes and…read morerunning drip irrigation lines to them. He had to deal with working on a slope for half the project and dealing with a lot of rocks and gravel. He also sprayed the slope for weeds. He arrived early (big thumbs up) and I told him my budget (not much) and what I needed done. Well, my backyard now has several new plants and drip lines and everything looks great. I told Ryan that when I get some more money saved up I'll be contacting him again for more work. I have a long list of things that need getting done. One of the things I liked about Ryan is that if he doesn't know about something he can draw upon his friends who work in various fields, like today he got advice on which emitters to use for the particular plants I had put in and he managed to get me a deal on some of the supplies. As they say, the best advertising is word of mouth, and I recommend that if you need a handyman you give Ryan a call first. (Even around the holidays!)
