I was completely shocked and disgusted when he said he wouldn't take the job because he dosent think it would enough money. That he has a minimum of 40k to do a job. Then told me to give him a call next year when I have the more expensive job to do. Keep in mind, he didn't even come out to look at my house... which is 4000 finished square feet with 4 large full bathrooms with double sinks! I have received two other bids and we definitely would have met his "minimum". I also let him know, I would never hire him for my kitchen, way too arrogant to come into my home.

Previous review: I had been emailing with David to get pricing estimate as I was considering him for a project in our new house. Initially he was quick to respond and very friendly and helpful. However he then disappeared and stopped replying to any of my emails as I was looking to get further information. We ended up deciding to move forward with another contractor for this project, but I am a bit bummed that David disappeared as he seemed like someone who would do a solid job.

David, Aaron, and the rest of their crew were easy to work with from start to finish -- clear communication, very responsive, always on time, no surprises, no excuses. Just quality materials and quality workmanship at a fair price. David really listened to what we wanted and made sure we were fully satisfied. He was patient with us as we hemmed and hawed over details before starting the project ... but he got the job done quickly once we decided. I really appreciate David and Aaron's attention to detail. Despite the old decking being a warped mess and the joists being a bit uneven, they made sure that the new decking is level and that all boards align cleanly. The painting is fantastic as well -- they did an amazing job painting the accent trim, much cleaner lines than the painting company who repainted our house last year. Last but not least, they did an amazing job fixing our front door. Our house is 118 years old. I'm not sure how old the front door is, but probably well over 50 years. The clear-coat had worn off almost completely and the hinges sagged so that the door didn't swing smoothly and didn't latch properly. Aaron and his crew sanded and refinished the entry door and screen door so they look amazing, and re-hung the door so that it swings smoothly and latches easily. I had previously talked to a door contractor and two general contractors, and all of them said the door would need to be replaced. Aaron and his crew took care of it in just a few hours. And we get to keep our beautiful antique door! I highly recommend DW General Contractors and I look forward to working with them on our next project.

We had Bunn & Sons do a major addition to our house... a main-floor mother-in-law suite including a…read morehandicapped accessible bathroom and walk-in closet as well as a reconfiguration of our garage to keep the 3-car capability. It was a very good experience. The Bunn & Sons crew is very cleanly. They clean up every day. We were given progress pictures every day. The online project schedule (5 months) was kept current, and while some things moved around a bit, as should be expected, the end date actually moved in. Creating a plan, a detailed plan for such a large project takes a great deal of work. It did not come free, but in our view, the old adage of "You get what you pay for" holds true. We wanted confidence in the estimate that was provided, and that is exactly what we got. This was a huge project for us, and we could not have Bunn & Sons coming back telling us that framing, plumbing, flooring, roofing, demolition, foundation concrete, electrical, etc would cost more than they estimated. The project was completed on budget, a week early and with excellent quality, and it looks like it was always part of the house rather than an addition that sticks out like a sore thumb. Fireplace stone needs to be replaced. Countertop subcontractor dropped the stone on our floor so now part of our brand new hard wood floor needs to be replaced. Backsplash was installed crooked so we had to have it completely removed, purchase new tile that we have now paid for twice, and have it reinstalled. I could go on an on. When we signed our contract with him, he said any work that was done by him would be guaranteed to be done to satisfaction. How is it OK for him to abandon the job with so many issues on the work that was done? Regardless of him leaving the job early for whatever his reason may be, we feel completely robbed that we paid for a half-a$$ job on many of the items. Oh and in the process of our time working with Mitchell, he fired his kitchen contractor because she made several mistakes, fired his stone guy because he installed the wrong countertops in our house, fired his carpet guy because he let him do our backsplash and he installed it crooked. So who does he even have left to do jobs? Who knows, this guy is a con-artist. I have pictures and emails to prove it and will post them here if he even tries to argue that point.

We had to fire him and take the entire project into our own hands and he never showed us a single receipt for the work done and just took our money. We spent over 100k with the guy without seeing a single receipt in the end and we feel scammed. We will be filing a complaint with the BBB and seeing what we can do to get our money back that we deserve. Currently we sit with an unfinished kitchen, wrong electrical outlets, unfinished fireplaces with bad tiling, and a really bad taste in our mouth. Mitchell right cannot take his emotion out of any issues that arise and I am surprised he can even be called a contractor. Please please take my word for it, I write a lot of reviews, mostly positive, so for me to write this is very telling. Also keep in mind he says he "released" $4100 to me but we have over $10,000 of work incomplete so he actually stole money from us which we will be contacting the contractor's board about immediately.

Instead of parking responsibly near their job site, they repeatedly block neighbors' driveways--sometimes up to five trucks at once. I was slightly hesitant to use a company that didn't have much of an internet presence, however I know that homegrown businesses are generally cheaper because they have less overhead. I sent Luis a message here on Yelp and he responded relatively quickly with an estimate (which he stuck to even with some slight modifications to the project during the work). Few days later and he was here with his crew on a Saturday and ready to roll. The project took them a few hours, and Luis had to make a couple trips to Home Depot during the job. The entire time they were here, they were very professional and respectful of my property. They used wood and metal to cover up the pipes, and everything was measured perfectly, and his "finisher" came to the house to repaint them to match the textured paint on the existing basement wall. I have to say it came out looking better than I could have imagined. They cleaned up after themselves pretty well and Luis was very nice to talk to. I wouldn't hesitate to use Luis again for a construction job. He does quality work and stuck to his initial estimate.
