Received phone call from director ambushing me with how the center was unable to "settle" my just…read moreturned 2 year old. His first time in a daycare program, attending 2x per week. Sent pictures in app of him happy and playing only to be told during this call he is never settled and never plays. When questioned the owner Urvi said "admittedly teachers are very selective about capturing the child's happier moments" eluding that it wasnt the real situation with our child just an illusion. How does a child acclimate within just 5/6 visits to a new school? When we would ask the teachers how he was doing we would get "he's having better days, pockets here and there but better". This phone call was refuting these images and all we were told by the teacher reason being not to upset us as parents. Pretty much lied to us up until this phone call all to keep the peace. How does a parent support a teacher or program if they aren't being given the truth? Oh that's right you call and ambush them with how your child cries all day long and they don't know what to do or how to handle them. When we mentioned that we feel the 2x per week probably wasn't helping him get used to the program and that he would benefit from consistency in days it was silence on their end. I brought up initial sign on conversation with owner Urvi about waitlisting and that she mentioned by the end of this calendar year beginning of next a 3 day a week spot should open. I was immediately put on hold. When the director came back on the line she said "What Urvi meant was there would be a spot if we opened another classroom and well we are having trouble finding staff , so that won't be happening anytime soon." Another colorful story sold to us! When I questioned as to why I was just hearing about all this struggle today she said that "maybe I made the mistake of telling your husband." I am sorry what, now you're inferring that 1) my husband and I don't communicate about our children and 2)that he is a liar. I responded with no we talk ritualistically every afternoon when he gets in the car at pickup and when they arrive home about how his day went. I never expected my child to seamlessly take to school, however to be told you're child is unmanageable when there is no substance behind said claims is bizarre. These claims become even crazier when fictitious conversations come into play and what you're seeing in black and white via images on the app are in fact manipulated to create a facade. What should also be noted here is my child has a provisional diagnosis of autism which the school was not only made aware of but supported by me sending in early intervention services. I tell you this because during this phone call the director picked apart my child's behavior almost mocking him to be honest. In the conversation about him not playing "He walks around the playground hanging on to the ball." Well if you're any sort of "educator" you would know a trait of autism is special interests and this is not an uncommon behavior. BUT thank you for condescendingly pointing out how inept you truly are to handle a child that is not neurotypical. Do not take anything about this school at face value. The stories and faces are many and it's not pretty when they show their true self. Glad I got my child out of there before he was permanently traumatized. Please see picture attached for how "never ever settled, cries all the time" my son is. It's all just for the parents at the cost of the kids-when you add marker it makes it sting less.

Our preschool teacher does my daughters hair every day and calls her "sweet girl" on her way out. Urvi, the owner took the time to add post-it note to a backpack of a classmate my daughter wanted to connect with outside of the school. They also provide balanced snacks and lunches. Overall, it just feels like my daughter is in safe hands, thriving and learning a lot!

After 2 years our daughter has made great new friends, looks forward to school each day, and we continue to see her personality and skills grow. My husband and I live in Eastie and work downtown, and we feel privileged to be able to drop him off on our way to and from the T stop, following a nice walk through the park. The co-op structure welcomes parents in, to help out, but also to observe, which I find tremendously comforting. As a mom who also has a full-time office job, those days in the classroom are incredible. And unlike many preschools, Harbor City offers a schedule that actually works with my 9-5 hours. We found ourselves at Concord Comprehensive Neuropsychological Services after our child was…read morestruggling to learn basic concepts at the start of 1st grade and showing signs of frustration and low confidence towards academics. We wanted to gain insights into how our child learned, where the gaps were, and how we could help. We reached out to Dr. Allison Evans directly and provided some background about our child. Dr. Evans agreed that an evaluation may be appropriate, and it felt collaborative from the very beginning. The testing itself was comprehensive and thoughtfully spaced out over two days so as not to be too taxing on our child. Our child actually enjoyed the experience overall and still asks when they will be going back to see "Allison." Dr. Evans did an excellent job making the evaluations age appropriate and game related when possible with plenty of breaks. We had a parent debrief meeting a few weeks after the evaluation was completed, during which Dr. Evans walked us through her results in depth and patiently answered all of our questions. She also sent a formal report that was incredibly detailed and well organized with results, diagnoses, and school and parent recommendations. That report became the foundation on which we built our child's case for an IEP with her public school. Dr. Evans also agreed to participate in our IEP eligibility meeting, where she proved to be a formidable advocate and ally. Her presence and expertise were pivotal in helping us secure the IEP at a moment when it seemed like the school was not planning to offer one. She truly helped us change the trajectory of our child's education by giving us the knowledge we needed to understand their learning disabilities and the support to navigate the IEP process with confidence. We are deeply grateful for her expertise, her partnership, and her genuine care for our family. We would highly recommend her services to anyone in need of a neuropsychologist.

The first time I went to a Mom's Village when they were renting out a studio, I didn't know what to expect but I had felt so isolated as a new mother and wanted to work on getting a piece of myself back. I was also nervous about leaving my daughter, who was only 1 at the time, with anyone but family. I gave it a chance anyway and I am so happy I did. Never once did I worry about my daughter being safe and cared for by the childcare at the Village. The fitness classes have always pushed me and given me the variety I like- offering barre, kickboxing, HIIT, yoga, among others. The instructors are always helpful with modifications, while making sure you are getting the challenge you want/need. To have the amenities to go take a shower in peace or sit in the mommy lounge to have a hot cup of coffee while socializing without any interruptions is priceless. The community that has been built by Steph, Cindy and Lindsey can not be beat- it's mom supporting moms and enjoying this time of our lives together. I am forever grateful to have found this place.

Over the last 3+, we have had the best experience at CNS. The teachers are incredibly kind, the facility is adorable, and the community is warm and loving. And it's not because the building is new or the toys are state of the art. The school, the staff and the community feel comfortable, authentic and genuine. It's exactly what I was hoping to find for my child's preschool experience. We have been thrilled by our experience here. The staff is incredible. They are super attentive to each individual students' needs and they work hard to make sure everyone feels safe, comfortable and nurtured. Every day my daughter reports with enthusiasm about Yoga with Katie, a special pumpkin project, music with Mr. Phil, constructing outside, or a new song that she starts belting out. Though there is just the right amount of structure and routine to the day, no two days are the same. Not only is my daughter making friends, but our entire family is gaining a community. The returning families and the school's staff make a tremendous effort to foster community. What a difference it makes at pick up and drop off when everyone knows not only each other's kids and parents, but also each others' providers, little siblings, grandparents and dogs.
