I learned about Bekker's from an event for the La Jolla Newcomers Club a few years ago. Before leaving, I made sure I took their card. They impressed me with their professional service, especially around the hors-d'oeuvres, which they passed frequently. No need to wave to them from across the room. Their pacing of the different platters was perfect. The food at that event also stood out above anything else I'd ever eaten from a catering firm. Our event was no different in every regard. I shopped around for picnic vendors, and Bekker's was not pushy at all. They just helped me develop a quote that was well within my budget, and we signed the contract! Other vendors would say that they could work with my budget and then tried to upsell and upsell. Bekker's wasn't like that at all. The communication with Tatiana leading up the company picnic event was smooth and professional. The day of the party, Luis and his crew were on time, efficient, and so easy to work with. Very friendly, and the food was great. They even helped us pack up the leftovers and put them in our vehicle. They're very flexible and can quickly adapt to last minute changes seamlessly. I had a wedding with them this past weekend and we had to move the timeline up by about 15-20 minutes and they were ready for food service even before I mentioned it (when it comes to events, 15-20 minutes may not seem like a long time, but it's actually critical, especially for plated service). By far the best caterer we have ever worked with and our wedding reception on 5/2/2026 would not have been what it was without them!  Tatiana was an absolute gem! They specialize in delicious BBQ meats and they were very accommodating and professional as they listened to our needs and gave us many expert recommendations! In my flustered and exhausted state of organizing two consecutive memorial services on different days, I accidentally told them the wrong day for when I had hired them. They showed up at the church a day before we needed them because I booked it wrong. Of course I was panicking when they called, being just about to start another service that day and also fearing I would have to pay for the whole order again the next day. But they were cool as could be. Not only did they only charge a small redelivery fee, not a whole new food fee, but they were completely unfazed by my major mistake and very calming to me on the phone in a super stressful time. We chose Bekker's to cater our wedding on October 18, 2025. I initially liked that they had a lot of different pricing options to choose from that were affordable and included food that both me and my now-husband liked. They were incredibly friendly right from the beginning and very easy to work with. We changed things up quite a lot throughout the year, but they were always patient and willing to work with us. They also handle more than just food and dinnerware. We also rented the chairs and table linens from them, which was a must since the chairs at the reception hall were very flimsy. Also they had the dark teal napkins which was a color for the wedding and turned out to be a fairly difficult color to work with otherwise/through other vendors. It was super convenient because we could handle it all through one vendor rather than having to rent those things from multiple places. They worked well with our bartending service (as far as I know) and handled everything amazingly on our Big Day. I can't thank them enough for making the evening feel effortless! read more

Bekker's Catering catered my daughter's brunch wedding reception, and everyone was very happy with event. Tatiana was our coordinator and didn't miss a detail. She coordinated all of the rental equipment, hiring the baristas and provided a tasting and selection of linens, tableware, etc. Lacey was our day of coordinator and came out for a sight visit beforehand and suggested we serve the food in three parts which was a big hit with our guests. Each time they visited the buffet they got a new course. The truck and crew arrived early and began set up proto! The staff was very cordial and friendly. Once they set up the beautiful stations, they had staff making crepes with sweet and savory fillings, such a big hit! Then they switched to a build your own omelet that were cooked to perfection. They refilled the juices and mixers for the make your own mimosa and bloody mary bar, so it was always looking good and never ran out of any supplies. Bekker's is fantastic! I hired them to cater food and do set-up for a gazebo at a park for my son's birthday. They turned the sad gazebo tables into a fancy setup with the colors of cloth I picked out. The table of food was also beautifully decorated! I'm sorry to other Yelpers for lack if pics as we were so caught up in the moment with our family and friends. The 2 person crew also went out if their way in serving our guests.
