Bel Islands Home Improvement has done several projects at our historical 200-year-old house on the Cape, with new roofs, new siding (both cedar clapboard and shakes) on the house and multiple outbuildings. Andrei and his crew operated like a well coached team, perfectly coordinated and equipped for each phase, demolition of old roofing and siding, repair of framing underneath, underlayment, flashing, drip edges, gutters and exterior trim. Andrei had provided detailed descriptions of the work to be performed, photographing each element prior to beginning each task. Photos were taken throughout the process to document the job from beginning to end, resulting in some dramatic before-and-after photos for our own albums. Along the way certain questions arose such as whether to add decorative exterior moulding for which additional costs and tradeoff were discussed. We agreed to Andrei's tasteful suggestions, and continue to enjoy the additional detail. Upon completion of each project, the Bel Islands crew leaves no trace of construction debris, using magnetic rollers to extract any stray nails from patio, grass and even mulched areas. All wood and used construction materials were hauled away promptly and without even a hint of sawdust, having been carefully vacuumed wherever it had overdrifted the tarps. We hired Bel Islands Home Improvement to strip off the existing roof and replace/recoat it. The roof had two distinct sections: a large section of conventional asphalt shingles and a smaller section of rolled asphalt roofing. The scope of the large section included stripping the old shingles and replacing with subroofing and new asphalt shingles. Andrie Yamalovitch brought in a crew and completed those tasks in one day. The rolled roof was deemed to be in decent shape, and could accept a rubberized coating. Andrei returned a few months later to complete that task. Note that since it was a liquid product it was necessary to wait until the warmer months. Overall, Bel Islands Home Improvement proceeded with the project in a professional and courteous manner and was a pleasure to deal with. All at a fair price. They installed new windows, cedar shingles, Azek trim, gutters, and even repaired some hidden damage at a reasonable cost considering the current price of materials. Bel Islands was recommended to me to repair roof, ceilings, walls and floor joists when we removed a large chimney stack from the center of our Centerville home. As I became comfortable with the quality of their work, we added interior trim projects and additional roof trim repair. Andrei is very responsive and I like the way he collaborates with me to get the best solution to a challenge (most of the time his ideas are better than mine). I called him to see if we needed a new roof. At that time, he said no - how honest is that! 10 years later, he came back and put on a new beautiful roof.
