From an intimate 7 person dinner party to a literary function with a stage and full house- this flex-space has functioned well and left people with lots of share-worthy moments. In terms of a venue there's the advantage of a small kitchen as well as storage space that is closed off from the main area. Additionally, there is a parking lot that services the warehouses and that is largely unused in the evening. I love the space and am always excited to attend events hosted there, if only just to see how they will arrange it and decorate it!

Orlando definitely lacks good venue rental options for larger events, so I'm happy to see this new option. It's located right in front of the Florida Mall, so there was plenty of parking, but they also offered a valet service which was very helpful. I like that it is a 2-floor open concept so you still feel connected to what's happening downstairs, but you're able to break up the crowd a bit. I believe there were about 400 people in attendance and it never felt overly congested. I can definitely see this becoming a popular wedding and party venue and there are so many ways to get creative with the space and tailor it to your individualized needs. It may seem like an odd sight in the middle of the park, but in fact it used to exist in a line of historic homes that were taken down for the park expansion. Now it sits alone, right off of the walking path surrounding the Lake. The home is lovely and features a sunroom, living room, parlor, outdoor terrace, upstairs area with a balcony, bridal changing room, and more. Recently I went for a lunch meeting in their upstairs space, the Summerlin Room ($75/hr rental with a 2 hr min). It was a lovely spot and fit our group of fifteen perfectly. I'll admit that I had been to the house once before to help with another event and the room wasn't set to the specifications agreed upon so we had to move and reset the chairs and tables right before the meeting. I remember the event organizer was quite annoyed... Hopefully it was a fluke! Side note- There is no elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. This is worth mentioning in case your event includes someone with mobility issues or who uses a wheelchair. As I was heading out I stopped in a room by the front and appreciated the array of pamphlets set up- ranging from history of the house to an Orlando biking map. There were also tourist pamphlets with the typical attractions (presumably for out of town guests of weddings of meetings). Overall, this is a beautiful meeting/event space that is priced reasonably and located in the heart of the city.

You really can't get a more picturesque spot than this. On the day we visited the flowers were blooming and swans wandered the grounds. Today the house is owned by the City of Orlando and they rent it for reasonable rates for private events like parties and weddings. A full listing of the prices can be found on their website. In addition the house has a welcome center and park offices. On the day I visited the house was closed and I could only peak through the windows. I spoke with Gary over the phone and email and I quickly booked this location. It is absolutely gorgeous! Gary and Marti were so accommodating. Gary allowed me to change part of a ceremony to omit some wording that didn't apply to us. I picked the elopement package but I really wanted a cake. Gary and Marti were able to accommodate my request. Before the actual wedding Gary sat down with me and my now husband. He explained everything about the marriage license (which he sent off for us), marriage certificate and pictures. He really made us feel comfortable. Marti took some amazing photos. It rained on our wedding but the photos are still gorgeous. There is a covered patio so it didnt ruins the day. One of my favorite pictures is us outside under an umbrella. It's so adorable. Marti was super sweet even with my new mother in law who for some reason kept barking commands about photos and packaging the cake.
