Belen's is an exceptional home-based daycare, and dare I say, is more than just a daycare. It's more like a second home, where Belen, Ellie, Abuela, Angelina, Cathy and Anna have built a caring, loving and nurturing environment for kids to thrive in and grow. My wife and I would heartily recommend this place! Belen's is tight-knit and really well run. The student teacher ratio is well-maintained and each kid gets personalized attention. They have ample outdoor space for kids to play, and kids do really creative, artsy and well thought-out projects/activities each day. They provide nourishing home-made meals for breakfast, lunch and snacks of really high quality, taking into account restrictions for each kid individually. Pickups and dropoffs have clear communication, such that it feels like they're working together as a team - they always ask how our daughter slept, whether she had breakfast, etc. on pickup and on dropoff, tell whether there were any issues they had to work through. Even when I say all the above, I don't think I am capturing well enough how far and beyond Belen has gone consistently to give an exceptional experience to our daughter (and other kids). Belen helped our daughter settle in properly to naptimes, and since she wasn't sleep trained, took additional steps to get her comfortable. We noticed how far our daughter progressed over two years with their play-based learning and lastly, our daughter's birthday party celebration and farewell will be memorable experiences we will forever cherish. She developed an affectionate bond with Belen and her family, and every single day, looked forward to going to Belen's and catching up with her friends there - in short, she was happy. My daughter went to Belen's childcare home from Aug 2023-Aug 2025. From when she was 18 months old- 3.5 years old. I cannot express how lucky we are that they had a spot for our daughter. Belen and her family are some of the warmest people we've met. Children transition so quickly because they're greeted with so much love and taken care of. My daughter was picked every morning at the door with a big hug from either of them and she would just rush inside without even looking back!! Their house is maintained so cleanly and they provide breakfast, lunch and a snack. And she enjoyed their everyday activities (so many cute projects!). After the first few months, I did not even check the app anymore to see what she ate/how much she napped as I knew how well my daughter would be cared for. Birthday parties are huge at Belen's. We were very hesitant as first-time parents to send our son to daycare. From the beginning, Belen immediately understood our concerns and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. She reassured us that our kid would get all the care he needed and then some more. That gesture alone set the tone for everything that followed. Looking back, we realize the question was never whether this daycare would suit our child. It was the perfect fit from the start. On his last day, emotions ran high for us and for them too. Ellie gave us a beautiful parting gift, an album filled with pictures of our son and his friends. We loved it so much we carried it to India to show to his grandparents, who cherished it so deeply they wanted to keep it. They looked after our daughter for 2 years or more, nurturing her creativity and helping to shape her into a kind, loving person. At this point I've known Belen for 4 years - my older kid was in her daycare from 17 months of age (nanny before that) till we started preschool at 3.5 and my younger one has been with Belen from 8 months of age and still currently goes to Belen's. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Belen. My kids love to be at her daycare more than they love to be at home. My older kid still begs to go to Belen when her school has a holiday. All the teachers at the daycare are absolutely wonderful people - Belen, Ellie, Claudia and Catalina are kind, warm, loving and genuinely love all the kids. The kids get tasty nutritious food to eat, they play a lot, learn a lot, get naps in the afternoon and are always very happy with their time there. Pickups can be hard sometimes because my kids don't want to leave! Belén has always gone the extra mile. She lets me know how my kids are doing through their various developmental phases. When my older kid was suffering from constipation for months on end she made sure to buy papaya and prunes so she could help my daughter. With my younger one who is currently in a phase where she loves to eat roti - Belen has recently started making roti so my daughter can enjoy it for lunch! I cannot imagine another daycare teacher putting so much love and effort into all of her little ones! At this point Belen is like part of my family to me. First, let me start off by saying we couldn't have been more grateful for the love and care our daughter received at Belen's Daycare. Every day, she was excited to go, and it was clear why. The warm and nurturing environment that Belen, Ellie, Abuela, and the rest of the team created was exceptional. The delicious homemade meals and creative projects were just a few of the highlights. Our daughter always came home proud of what she had made and eager to share. The beautiful backyard, complete with a playground, toys, and fun summer water activities, was her favorite place to play. Belen and her staff were incredibly supportive with potty training and all the other milestones. Their patience and guidance made these transitions so much easier for our daughter and for us. We have been sending our son to Belen's since he was 11 months old, he recently moved out to preschool so we spent a little over 2 years with her. Belen is a wonderful person who genuinely loves children. She loved our son as one of her own and took such good care of him. Starting from holding him to sleep in his infant months (our son is not sleep trained) to helping him with eating during a one year long phase of extreme picky eating, Belen has been literally a life saver. The establishment is well set up with different sections for infants and toddlers. The student to teacher ratio is also more than adequate. They provide breakfast, lunch and snacks and the food is fresh homemade by Abuela. I know the food is super good since our son is very picky and he just loves it there. We are non-vegetarians with no dietary restrictions so our son ate everything they made. Vegetarians/Vegans are also well provided for on request. The birthday and festival celebrations are very special and very well done. Not only was our son well taken care of, he learned many things there that we couldn't have managed to teach at home. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Marysol - she's everything I ever wanted in a care giver (and our family went through a bunch of daycares before finding her). First, I feel like she's created a second home for my dear boy - he runs in happily every morning, and gets lots of love and care from Belen and her team. Five stars truly isn't enough to express how eternally grateful my family will be to have had Belen's Childcare Home be a part of our and our children's lives for nearly 3 years. We recently moved out of the area, and one of the hardest things about leaving was saying goodbye to Belen and her team. Both our daughter and son started at Belen's around 4-5 months, and when we left our daughter was nearly 3.5 and my son nearly 2. What we loved about Belen's: 1) When we first toured Belen's home back in early 2017, my wife and I were both blown away by how clean and organized everything was, and how homey her daycare felt. The indoor living room and playroom areas are large, and provide plenty of space for the kids to play with the abundance of learning toys and do various activities. The outdoor space was also clean, well organized, and plenty spacious. When the weather was nice, we'd always find our kids laughing and having a blast in the backyard during pickup time. Convincing them to leave at the end of the day was sometimes tough; a great sign! 2) In addition to providing a fantastic space and environment for the kids, one of the things we loved most about Belen's daycare was the structure and routine they provided for the kids. Plenty of different types of learning activities (both individual and group), balanced with free play time. 3) Yummy, healthy, home-cooked meals and snacks! Our kids love eating to this day, and I've no doubt that that's in large part due to the variety of foods that they had at Belen's. Not having to ever pack breakfast or lunch for our kids, and being able to trust that they'd be well fed, was huge for us as two working parents. 4) Belen and her wonderful team! It's clear that Belen and her team love what they do. They really did become part of our extended family, and our kids loved them as such. Our son in particular absolutely adored "Abuela" (Belen's mom), and each of Belen's staff connected with our kids in different ways. We were also pleasantly surprised at how low the staff turnover was; only a couple changes in the ~3 years our kids were there. That consistency was wonderful and gave us peace of mind. 5) The way Belen and her team exhibit great patience and consistency in helping the kids understand and work through the swirl of emotions that is toddlerhood. They are saints! We wanted an environment for our kids that would help them establish great foundations for their emotional and social development. (Kids will have plenty of time to figure out the academic part once they get to school, but the emotional/social are just as, if not more critical!). This is one of the areas where Belen's excels as well, and both of our kids routinely now demonstrate compassion, empathy, and caring that we believe is a direct result of their time at Belen's. 6) Reasonable pricing: Belen's rate is quite affordable relative to other options in the area, and she could certainly be charging more considering how fantastic her daycare is. We felt like everything we spent to send our kids to Belen's was 100% worth it, if not worth more. 7) A note on COVID; when Belen's reopened in June, we were very impressed at the COVID protocols she put in place: Only one family at the door at a time during pick-up & drop-off. No parents allowed in the home, and kids had to wear a separate pair of indoor shoes. Temperature checks and hand sanitizer required at the door, and all toys/surfaces disinfected daily. Much of this is protocol required by the county of course, but Belen's team continued to maintain the same level of rigor around the protocol up until our departure in August. We would absolutely 100% without hesitation recommend Belen's childcare home to anyone wanting a warm, engaging, and safe place for their little ones to learn and grow. Our daughter recently started pre-school after we moved and is thriving there, no doubt because Belen's prepared her well for it. My son attended Belen's Daycare since he was 18 months to 3 years old. During this time he developed and improved his social and speaking skills, learning both English and Spanish language. We are very grateful for all the love that each member of the Belen's Daycare gave to my son. He was very happy during all this time. Belen's daycare has been our son's home for 2 years before moving to another preschool center. Belen and the whole staff provided love, care, attention, development tools and support to our son from age 11mo to almost 3yo. Our son was very attached to Belen and the whole staff and considered them his family for many months after leaving. We are still in touch . The home itself is always clean and well maintained. The kids are all cared for and loved as if they were one big family. A hug and a kiss in the morning to start their day, lots of activities to keep them busy and engaged throughout the day, wonderful food and snacks. How they train the kids to take a nap all at the same time I will never know. Playtime in the afternoon when the weather is nice is always available and enjoyed by all. It was indeed after a long search we decided to go to Belen's for our 2.3 yr old daughter. Our first experience with a home-based daycare was bad as they gave up on my daughter in just 4 days. Our daughter had separation and stranger anxiety issues, so It needed a lot of energy, patience and had to be dealt in a loving way to build the trust. Finally, all that resonated when we met and spoke to Belen. Such a warm, kind and loving person. It was clear, Belen & her team would handle the kids with love and patience rather than using the "cry it out method". Belen and her team handled my daughter's transition very well though my daughter gave them a tough time (crying) :). Throughout the transition, they would keep us posted of how she is doing without even asking. They have a very good Kid: Caregiver ratio which helps in having someone dedicated to a new kid during the initial transition phase. My daughter is also a tough eater with chewing problem's. But Belen's team was nice enough to cater to our requests. My daughter also started to eat some snacks by herself with their help. My daughter loves Belen and the fact that she feels safe at her place despite having stranger anxiety and trust issues speaks volumes of their care. My daughter has been at Belen's Childcare Home for a little over 3 years now. Belen is the most caring, loving and attentive person I've known. She has taught my child Spanish, alphabet, counting, great manners and has potty trained her. Under her care, my children have had the privilege of being enveloped by her warm, caring heart. As such, people comment on how well behaved and happy they are. I visited over ten daycare facilities in Sunnyvale, and chose Belen's. My boy was there for about two years, from ages 2-4. He thrived. The atmosphere at Belen's is warm, bright, clean and full of (literal) light. Belen is loving, attentive, transparent - and always available to discuss issues large, medium, and small with parents. Belen gave my son age appropriate responsibilities, (stirring the batter, putting toys away, etc.) which helped grow his self-confidence. It's a play-based environment, with lots of manipulative toys and explorations of art. Belen and her assistant Francis are fantastic. My daughter attended Belen's day care home for the last 2.5 years. We found Belen's day care after an arduous search that lasted more than three months. We were first time parents and always found something was not quite right for us at all the other day cares we visited. Our long search stopped soon after the very first meeting with Belen. Belen's personality was warm, friendly, effusive and very welcoming. She gave us a detailed tour of her facility and it was very pleasant to see how much information she provided to us on the safety standards of her day care including the emergency meeting location in case of a natural disaster or other unforeseen circumstances. She showed us all the relevant licensing paperwork/information. Everything was up-to-date. Belen helped us tremendously in the initial few transition days and also learnt a couple of Hindi words to help her communicate better with our daughter. Belen had no problem accommodating a vegetarian only diet for our daughter. Soon enough, our daughter started to refuse leaving her day care in the evening. This was the biggest testament for me that this was like a second home for her.For lunch, Belen and her staff always prepare wholesome and nutritious meals. In Belen's day care children are always in small groups for appropriate supervision and care. Belen and her staff take personal interest in children's emotional and overall development. The toys she provides are educational and age-appropriate. The house has a big playroom and has a large backyard to allow for enough physical exercise for the kids. Belen has an amazing rapport with kids and I have seen her many times use her positive skills to diffuse tension between kids fighting for the same toys or books. Like many others on yelp, I typically don't write a review unless the service was either extremely bad or extremely good. Belen Childcare Home far exceeded our expectations. My mother and I were looking around the area for a daycare for my little one who was 18 months old, when my mother saw this place she immediately had a warm feeling. Her home was very clean, had a good sized area indoors and outdoors for the kids to play, and the price was reasonable. Recently we moved to a neighboring county and we are sad to leave after being their for 9 months. I'll just list some of the highlights from our experience. Good staff to child ratio: Belen and her two assistants, plus her mother all help take of the kids there. I want to say there were roughly up to 12 kids there while we attended. Plus Belen's two daughters sometimes help out and are also very good with kids. Slightly sick kids: For working parents, it can be very disruptive to get a surprise call that you have to pick up your child early from day care. I feel like in the Spring especially, my little one either had a runny nose, or small cough. I appreciate that the daycare would do their best to take care of him and not call us to pick him for minor issues. I even remember when my little one threw up or wasn't feeling well, they would give him a bath to clean him and calm him down. Not to say we never had to pick him up early to take him to home, but I felt Belen found a good balance between allowing the parents to stay at work versus deciding when your child needs to go home. Toys and play: There are so many different toys, play structures, games, puzzles, books, and tricycle. Everyday seems like the kids are playing with something different. And many times they are having so much fun it's hard to pull them away to take them home. They even recently renovated parts of the backyard by making a circular cement path for the kids to ride on. My little one loves riding tricycles, so it was perfect for him. It also seemed like the kids did a different art project each day. Food is included( so nice not to have to prepare a lunch every day). Plus my little one enjoyed the healthy home cooked meal. He often ate more at childcare than at home. Most important of all. All three of my children have gone to Belen's Childcare Home from infancy / toddlerhood until their very last week before kindergarten, and I sincerely treasure every moment they have spent there. Belen is a loving, energetic, kind person who clearly adores children. You sense her genuine love for children and babies as soon as you enter her home. She has a gift for interacting with each child and listening to his/her wants and needs, which I truly appreciate, as I have visited plenty of daycare centers where this doesn't appear to be the case. In addition to being a natural with children, Belen takes classes in child development at De Anza College, and seems to always be thinking of new themes, games, lessons, and activities for the children. She and her assistants are bilingual (English/Spanish) and use both languages throughout the day. Her home is sunny, bright, and clean with plenty of open space, as well as a nice big back yard where they play throughout the year. She makes healthy lunches and snacks for the children, and even makes fresh baby food for infants who are ready to eat solids!! (You won't find this at many places.) Above all, she is absolutely trustworthy, conscientious, and committed to children. I feel completely at peace leaving my babies with her and knowing they are receiving the best possible care. She has played such a valuable role in my children's lives, and we will all miss her daily presence when they finally outgrow her daycare! read more

We have both our children with Belen since they were 1 year old and 8 months old until now they are 5 and almost 4 years old. It has been like leaving our children with our family in term of caring, food and atmosphere. We have seen other day care before, even much more expensive than Belen, where clearly was most if not all about money. Well, Belen is all another story. I can say and I learn over the years that for her is not just a business but much much more. How to start this review. Belen, her mother and the wonderful staff there are all AMAZING. I met Belen at the hospital when my baby boy was born. One of my friends recommended her and her daycare for my baby and my friend even brought Belen to the hospital for me to meet her! She was so wonderful! Our son didn't start there until he was 10 months old. Our experience there was amazing. I only have great memories and my son loves everyone there! The meals are home cooked and all organic. Belen is very clean and organized. Many activities for all the kids. I love that the have time to play outdoors in the backyard! They celebrate birthdays for all the kids which is great! I just love Belen and all the staff. I really miss them! Unfortunately, we moved out of state and I really haven't found a home daycare like hers. I really miss her. I can't wait to go back and visit them. She is just amazing. read more

Belen's daycare is the most wonderful place you can take your kids. She treats them more like a mom. Kids love her and so all parents, she offers great services and never rushes our kids when they don't want to go home. You can not do better than Belen. This is a true family / preschool home centered daycare with more love than you will ever imagine. A mixed Spanish + English language program. There are children from infants to pre-schoolers with enough help to cover all bases and needs. Belen's Childcare Home is warm, welcoming and my daughter loves to go. Due to a family matter my 3 year old daughter, who has never been on a sleep over, had her first overnight @ Belen's (not a typical service offered I imagine) and keeps asking for a second. Age appropriate activities and a hands on learning program are just bonuses @ Belen's Child Care Home. If I could add more stars based on my child's + my own satisfaction I would. read more
