My son attended Little Giant Daycare when he was 1.5 years old, and we've seen amazing progress since then. The teachers show genuine compassion and love for the children, which made us feel very comfortable as parents. Annie runs the kindergarten very much like a preschool, with a strong focus on learning and structure, also balanced with a lot of outdoor time, my son learned a lot in both Mandarin and English, and we were truly surprised by how quickly he picked things up. My little one is graduating from this daycare. I can't express enough my gratitude and admiration towards the owner. She and the other two teachers meticulously care about the kids, which is exactly what we need for our toddler. Besides, they sincerely enjoy the kids and put a lot of love and planning in entertaining and teaching the kids. They've created so much experience for my kid during her stay there. On top of the usual crafts, circle time, singing that you would get at a pretty much every daycare, they provided opportunities for the kids to make all sorts of food & desserts together. They celebrate the American and Chinese traditions with the kids. My older one has been to different daycares and preschools. This daycare is outstanding. My son has been in the little giant daycare since July, when they reopened after pandemic. This is a great daycare. There are variety of activities designed for the kids to learn Letters, numbers, shapes and all other interesting things. And the owner Annie also prepares nutritious breakfast and lunch along with different kind of homemade afternoon snacks. Besides all these, the most important reason I love this daycare is that Annie and other two teachers are very patient and care the kids a lot! My son had been stayed at home for one and half years during pandemic before joined the daycare. And as a 2.5 yrs old boy back then, he barely spoke except for "mom" and "dad". My daughter has been in the little Giant daycare since it re-opened in July 2021. We set her there when she was 20 months. I am so happy to see her grow from a baby to a little Giant under the care of the teachers. If you want to look for a place where you don't need to worry about the kid during the day, here it is! I highly recommended Little Giant for the following reasons: 1. Low teacher to student ratio. Every kids get a lot of attention and care. From the diaper rash frequency perspective , the teachers did a much better work than us. 2. The food is homemade and healthy. Teacher Annie is very good at cooking and always creative with cooking meals and snacks to the kids. My daughter don't eat too much vegetables at home but eat a plenty at the daycare. She enjoys the foods very much and would shout out what she wants to eat at Teacher Annie's house for breakfast everyday on her way to the daycares. She grows faster both in weight and height after went to the care. 3. There are abundant activities in the daycare. My daughter brings home handwork every 3 days and so proud of the work she completed under the help from the teachers. She learned color, alphabet, numbers and a lot of new words in the daycare. 4. What I like the most is Annie send photos and videos occasionally, so I am able to see how my daughter is doing, how she interact with teachers and other kids in the daycare. My daughter started at Little Giant (LGD) when she was a quiet 15 month old who did not understand any Mandarin. When she graduated to go to preschool, she had transformed into a "little leader" with a strong command of Mandarin and English (spoken at home). She loved the delicious, homemade meals, the mandarin nursery rhymes (which she still sings today), and her teachers. She still asks us to take her back to visit! When it came time to find care for my second daughter (6 month old) there was no question where to send her. Given her young age, Annie, Lily and Yan Laoshi have made an effort to take special care of her- ensuring she's well fed and sleeping on-time. My LO has extra sensitive skin that always seems to look better after coming home from LGD. I'm very happy with the attention and care LGD has provided to my girls. A few reasons for my 5-star rating: - Delicious home-made food. My kids come home full and I can tell they're eating well - Almost daily photos and videos. It's very reassuring for parents to see how their kids are progressing, eating and interacting with other kids. - Teachers genuinely love kids. It's evident that Annie and her teachers genuinely love kids - you can tell from their energy and how happy my kids are at drop-off - Intimate environment. Good teacher-student ratio, great mix of songs, free play, arts and crafts, and occasional celebrations (eg, halloween party, xmas, birthdays, lunar new year) - Custom care, esp for infants. We love little giant daycare!!! My husband and I are so lucky to find Annie. We shop for at least 10 daycares before we decided to go with little giant daycare. We love this place not only Annie and her teachers do care about the kids with great hearts but also they will make sure the parents know how are the kids doing at daycare every day. Here are the few reasons I highly recommend this place: 1) Well-prepared food and make sure the kids eat well. Annie provides food is organic and she even grew some of the fruit or vegi from her backyard. They change their menu every day and I hardly see any repeated menu. They provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, sometimes I think my son has better lunch that I do. 2) Good learning environment - my son picks up Mandarin from school, he is now trilingual who speaks Mandarin, Cantonese & English. I'm very impressed by how much vocabularies that he speaks in Mandarin. I know trilingual is not easy and we don't have any high hope or expectation that he can pick up Mandarin from daycare. He just turned two and the other day, I just realized he count 1-10 in 3 languages and if I asked him in Mandarin, he knows how to respond in Mandarin too (P.S in our house, we only speak Cantonese). 3) Clean!! I have to say I have OCD and I think by far Annie's daycare is the only place that meets my expectation. Annie was a nurse before she ran the daycare and she has been running the daycare for over 20 years now. I just love to see my son's hands are clean, the diaper has been changed before he comes home. My son has been going to Little Giant Daycare since he turned two years old (for over 1.5 years). Annie is the owner, and she has been running her home daycare for over 20 years. We looked at a lot of different daycares, both in home daycares and daycare centers, and we found Little Giant Daycare to be by far the best fit for our son and our family. They have a high teacher to kid ratio, which was hard to find in many center based daycares. They also mainly speak mandarin (mandarin immersion), which is really important to us since we wanted our son to be able to speak mandarin fluently. Also, Annie runs the daycare like a preschool, with more structure and various activities throughout the day. The age range of the kids is 1 to 3 years old, so the activities and lessons are catered for their age group. The daycare is also incredibly clean, by far the cleanest we saw. We absolutely love that Annie makes healthy and delicious meals and snacks for the kids, which is a huge time saver for us to not have to worry about packing lunch. We will definitely miss that when my son goes to preschool. Also, a music teacher (Mr. Sean) comes every Monday to teach the kids songs and how to play some simple instruments. The kids love that! I was fortunate enough to have my daughter enrolled at Little Giant daycare. She started at 1 years old and will go prepared for the Montessori at age 3. I'm Korean and I only speak a little chinese. After the program with Annie, my daughter speaks Mandarin very well for her age and can read 200 Chinese characters. They do a good job teaching and doing projects and music. We found Little Giant Daycare through a couple of co-worker referral and that give us the much needed assurance of the daycare. We were so happy with the daycare that without hesitation, our son also goes to this daycare as well when he is 7 months old. We sent our 2-year-old son to Little Giant since he was 2 and he spent a wonderful time here. His personality is very active and sometimes not behaved before he was in daycare. After he spent about several months there, he learned how to share his toy with friends, and he learned a lot of Chinese languages as well as English songs and basic words. One thing I need to give Little Giant a thumb-up is their food and their attitude to kid. Their home-made food is tasty and healthy. My kid was always not good at eating-he eats slowly and reluctantly. But at the daycare, he was able to finish good everyday. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. We are so happy with Little Giant Daycare! We sent our son there when he was two, and we are grateful for how he was taken care of. The food is delicious, healthy. Annie and other teachers are patient, loving and experienced. My son was a bit shy, insecure and sensitive at first, he doesn't like playing with other kids, afraid of strangers, etc. He refused to go there at first because he just doesn't new places. But with Annie's experience, she knows how to handle this and encourage and let him fit in smoothly. He finally likes it and are happy there all the time. At home, he kept talking about the names of teachers and other kids all the time:) We are so lucky that we found her daycare and immediately chose to attend it when we were visiting. My daughter was a little over one when we sent her to Annie's family care. We were concerned about her eating since she was and still is a very picky eater and easy to throw up for some reason. Annie and her staff were very patient with her and spent a lot of time feeding my daughter. They spoon fed her milk since she does not drink milk from sippy cups. Annie takes good care of the little ones from all aspects. They do art work a couple of times a week. They teach children' songs, Chinese poems, numbers, etc. My daughter does not want to leave when I pick her up in the evenings. Annie also provide baby sittings on weekends and after hours for us from time to time. This is important and convenient for us since my daughter does not like strangers. We were lucky to have a colleague refer us to this place when our son was five months old. As new parents, we were very worried, not knowing how much we can trust others to look after our kid, and a very positive referral from that colleague gave us some assurance. Well, we can't be happier with our choice. My son graduated ~2 years ago when he turned three, and now his younger sister has been happily going there for over two years. Even though the place is quite a way out of our normal commute, and it takes us 20 more minutes each way, my kids are happy, and we can't beat that. Annie and teachers are very caring and keep the place clean all the time. Both my kids like going there, which is very important to us, and my son still says he misses the teachers there. He had a little bit of hard time when he moved up to a bigger preschool, and he eventually had to transfer to a home-preschool similar to this daycare. We believe that young toddlers need more intimate personal attention and care, and we feel that this place definitely loves kids and treat them well. This place mostly speaks in Chinese. We're Koreans, and we weren't particularly looking for a Chinese speaking daycare, but we were pleasantly surprised that my son picked up quite a bit of Chinese while going there, and, we're continuing to send him to a bilingual pre-school. This place has many activities and kids even so young learn a lot, often surprising us. We wouldn't hesitate sending our third kid, if we have one, and we would of course highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Within less than two months, I am so relieved seeing him become more socialized with other kids and more independent, as is what I deem invaluable on a single child like my son. I sent my kids to Little Giant Daycare between the ages of one and four. Annie runs her daycare out of the first floor of her home plus her backyard. She provides home-cooked food which my kids enjoyed. Each day at Little Giant was structured and included age-appropriate learning. This review is long overdue. We had researched and toured many daycare facilities within the area and felt that Little Giant Daycare was the best fit for us. Annie (the owner) takes pride in the meals and snacks she prepares for the children using quality organic ingredients, sometimes right from her garden! The daycare is kept very clean and toys are sanitized frequently. They also have a large fenced-in backyard where the kids can enjoy the play structure, run on the grass, have a picnic under the warm sun, and get fresh air. We were at Annie's daycare for over a year and during that time, not only did our LO's Mandarin improve tremendously, she had learned good manners, patience, and other life skills that was helpful in transitioning into preschool. We have been pleased with the level of care Little Giant has provided for our LO and we were sad to leave. Our LO really liked it there as she often talks about Annie, the other teachers, and the friends she's made there. read more

I first found Annie when my 2nd daughter was born in 2002. We sent her to Annie's when she was 4 months old and at that time also transitioned my then 2 year old there at the same time. My 2 year old didn't speak any Mandarin but amazingly picked it up over time. My husband calls Annie, the Chinese Mary Poppins. She always has such a joyful demeanor which rubs off on the kids. I've event dropped my child off as the first one there and have heard her singing in the kitchen while preparing the food for the day. She prepares healthy meals and snacks and is comfortable cooking a diverse menu from many cuisines. The inside and outside play areas are immaculate and very safe. The nap room is next to the main indoor area, so the set up is ideal. My daughters are 15 and 13 now and I had a son in 2012. Even though we moved to another city, I knew that I wanted my son to attend Annie's Daycare. It's well worth the drive. I love that he comes home singing songs and reciting poetry in Chinese. Annie never forgets a holiday and there are Easter egg hunts, crafts to celebrate Mother's Day and Father's Day, Halloween and Chinese New Year celebrations and much more. They've even made pizza together. The discipline is loving but firm. It's so cute to see the kids put away their own shoes when they arrive in the morning and to see them lined up to wash hands after coming inside after playing. They learn to push in their chairs and to look people in the eye when talking to them. Annie even cuts their hair and helps with potty training! The 2 other teachers, Mei and Helen are also equally wonderful, loving, happy and cheerful. We love Annie's! read more

My little one was quite timid, even around her extended family on those occasional trips to Grandma's house on the weekends. So it was no surprise to hear from the staff that she kept quiet and mostly played alone, at least that's how it was in the beginning. But then an amazing transformation happened. Although it was several months later, one day when I went to pick her up at the daycare, I could hear her laughing and running. Subsequent days later, I could also hear her talking loudly/clearly to the staff (and singing along to songs, too). Furthermore, she seemed much more relaxed and more interactive with her extended family on those weekend trips. I give huge credit to the nurturing environment of this daycare as having played a major part in my toddler's social cultivation. Would I recommend this daycare to friends and family? Yes! We feel so fortunate to have learned about Annie through a friend. Our first kid was there 6 years ago and we were very happy with the quality of care provided, we didn't think twice about sending our second child there 6 years later. Our 2nd one is at Little Giant now and loving it there. Annie is a very experienced caretaker and she has a great team of teachers with her. We love that she prepares home-cooked meals daily that are fresh and nutritious. She incorporates a lot of fun activities in the learning process. Both my kids built a good foundation for their Chinese Mandarin there. My first child could recognize about 250 Chinese characters by the time he left Annie's at 3 years old. My 2nd one is still a little young to do that now but he is speaking Mandarin well and singing quite a few Chinese songs (my husband doesn't speak any Mandarin so it is only me speaking the language with them at home and not very strictly either). Every Monday they have an outside music teacher come in to do musical activities with the kids, which we think is great. She is also great at inculcating good habits and discipline like having the kids pick up their toys after playing, or mediating and providing teaching moments when kids get into a fight for toys, while being very kind and loving. She sends out pictures/ videos of the kids/activities/food daily so we know what they do each day. We are just so grateful to have someone like Annie whom we can completely trust with our kids so we don't have to worry about them when we're at work. When my 1st daughter was 2 years old, we visited many home base daycare centers around Sunnyvale, Cupertino, and Santa Clara trying to find a place that fits best for her. I think those advantages worth you to consider this daycare: 1. Happy environments with full of love. Annie works with 2 teachers to serve 12 children, they all love kids and give much attention to everyone of them. Those teachers worked with Annie for quite several years, Annie herself worked in this area for quite a long time. The teacher group is with high quality. 2. Rich experience of teaching Chinese. One of Annie's relative is the principle of AppleSeed, she leveraged a lot of good experience from there. Annie herself is good at making kid's rhyme from everything, my daughter loved to say to us even after school. 3. High quality food. This daycare provide two snacks and lunch. Their milk, eggs are organic. Annie planted a lot of vegetables, and she is good at cooking. I know she got a prize in some cooking completion before. My daughter ate very well every day. 4. Clean environment. Everything is well-organized. My daughter was lucky to get Google daycare spot this October, so we left Annie's daycare. Annie is absolutely wonderful. My son had multiple food allergies and acid reflex since infancy, So he vomited often and thus developed a strong distrust towards food. He did not associate eating as something to relieve hunger pains. It was near impossible to get him to try new foods, or just consume enough nourishment each day. Annie was able to motivate him to eat, and try new foods. She cooked nutritious meals that my son liked. I sent him to daycare whether I needed the childcare or not because it was one place he ate. My son is now a healthy 14 year old. He still has fond memories of his time at Annie's house (LGD). He learned responsibility and enjoyed great social interaction with other children.
