Not impressed , out of stock often, ever-changing product offering, high prices, and ridiculous that they ask if you prefer not to have a copy of your sales receipt. Most of the help , not all , are asleep at the wheel. Boils down to not very good management. Sorry but this place just can't be our go to grocery store. We spend several thousand $$ a year at the co-op. I wish they would focus more on making this store more functional and reliable, and not focusing on coop tee shirts and hats for the tourists . Note too, most reviews are from folks who are from out of town; they may not get the second - third impression we have. I hope things get better there. read more

Couldn't be more pleased with my experience at the Belfast Co-Op. Was visiting the area for a wedding and needed to stock up my fridge with vegan goodies and their selection didn't disappoint. The staff is incredibly warm and helpful and the woman who works in the beauty and supplements section helped me tremendously. They have a wonderful selection of Maine products, including Little Lads which made me smile. The counter where you can order food is delicious too! I highly suggest this place for all of your health food desires! read more

Absolutely fantastic member- owned grocery store! The local organic produce selection is amazing. Many wonderful local farms' goods are available throughout the store, there's a great full service butcher, bulk everything, and you can also get anything else you may need in the kitchen. Staff members are so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer a wide array of community programs, like great lectures at the library. This place is a hub of such a great community - you can't go here and not see friends happily running into each other. So nice! Everything at the deli is great too. Good selection of groceries, lots of organic food, but beware of their offerings for lunch. They use a lot of canola oil and don't guarantee that it's non-GMO, a real disappointment for me, as I think their prepared food is excellent. They are also rather pricey, unfortunately. read more

I always go in here when I am in town. The selection is great. From veggies to wine, they have it all. A bit pricey but that is the same as home for me. Everyone is helpful. They have a small restaurant and a prepared foods counter to save you from cooking if you so desire. Stop in! read more

If only Ohio had such an extensive selection of good coops! Stopped here on my way to a cabin in Bar Harbor to pick up some provisions. Not only does this coop have all my favorite organic faves, it also has an excellent selection of cheese and wine. Additionally, there is a nice deli case of prepared food and salads. Plus, it sells fresh, locally made bread! We got a loaf of tomato bread and it was super delicious. read more

Absolutely adore this place! It was recommended to me by a local and now it is a must whenever I am in town! The staff could not be more friendly or welcoming...I can't decide what makes me come back more them or the amazing products!? They offer a wide array of fresh, organic produce to choose from paired with all the ingredients you need to make a delightful dish OR they also have a small restaurant if you want to treat yourself to a delicious meal without the hassle of cooking it yourself! But wait there's more... they also have an incredible selection of wine here as well! I discovered my first vegan wine here called The Oyster! For my fellow wine drinkers I HIGHLY recommend this wine, it's a sustainably-grown, smooth, Sauvignon Blanc that pairs perfectly with anything (seafood, veggies, meat, or by itself!), it's extremely affordable, and it has a great local cause behind it! If only! This is the last of its kind, I think, left over from the hippy sixties when people and food were honest. Open the jar of red bell pepper flakes (not the hot kind - are you listening? I said BELL peppers) and the fragrance will make you want to tape some under your nose for permanent. On Tuesdays they make sausage. Sound simple? These sausages are made with such lean meat that you do not grill them (they'd turn to cinders over that high heat) but instead bake them in a 350 oven for 30 minutes, turning once. Parboil yourself some just-dug potatoes, spritz a little olive oil in the pan, pop in the potatoes and sausage, sprinkle with lots of that red pepper, and, as my 17-year-old foodie grandson said, this is the first exceptional meal I ever had that's EASY. They make many kinds, but if you can get the garlic-and-Guinness or the Hungarian hot, you'll have yourself air-lifted to Belfast once a week for more Promise. read more

I love this place! The deli section and fresh made sandwiches are shockingly inexpensive and super delicious. I got a vegan bacon cheese burger that was amazing and only about $5, which is so good for fresh made and vegan. Also the vegan baked goods are so good. Also a great place for groceries if you're able to pay for the more expensive, but higher quality food. You get what you pay for! read more

Haven't had a chance to try the grocery section of the Co-op yet, but I did stop in for a mid-morning snack and coffee at the deli. The vegan banana bread and coffee were excellent, but it was the coconut macaroons that I wanted to take home and marry! read more

A great place to pick up some local food. Also happens to be the oldest Co-op in Maine. They were celebrating their 40th anniversary when we stopped in with a local creamery serving free ice cream in the parking lot. Among other things they had a good craft beer selection with many local selections. They also prepare sandwiches and other things to order which I hope to try soon. read more

As fresh as it gets! The menu is extremely limited, but they have the best salads in town. Their daily specials change everyday and they usually have a good vegan soup. They always have a few types of pizzas and baked desserts. If you catch a day when they have enchiladas, don't miss them! read more
