Good selection of coffee. The coffee is good, but it takes a long time to get coffee.

We started with the fried mozzarella, and the moment I saw them I knew exactly what was coming with the entrees. Straight from the Sysco truck. They are charging $9 for five, and they tasted exactly how you'd expect, premade and nothing special. Then the entrees came out. Alfredo and lasagna. I didn't like either of them. Honestly, whatever. I guess I fell victim again to another small business dump. Then I go to pay. They don't do real receipts, everything is handwritten, so I didn't even know the total until it was time to pay. It came out to $46, which seemed off, but I brushed it off and paid. It kept bothering me though because I don't like being taken advantage of, so I went back and asked for a price breakdown. I was met with a very defensive and rude manager who was completely unhelpful. She told me the salads we were offered, which I did not order, cost extra because they were Caesar salads. Mind you, I wasn't even going to order a salad. The waitress told me it came with the entree. No upcharge was mentioned when I ordered, so of course I assumed it was included with the meal. Apparently not. The manager told me it was listed on the menu and that it was my fault for not reading it more carefully. She refused to refund the salads because I had already eaten them. When I asked for my tip back, she said no to that too. I'm sorry... the tip I added on top voluntarily? Eventually she did give the tip back, but only after arguing about it. Needless to say, I will be disputing this charge with my bank. I do not pay for things that were offered or promoted as free. Take your money somewhere else. Go to the Cheesecake Factory or literally anywhere else. Don't waste your time here. Small businesses like this are exactly why people stop supporting them.

Nikki warmly welcomed us to the table. She provided an overview of the menu, offered beverage recommendations, and allocated time for us to review the menu. We skipped the appetizers and immediately went for the bread on the table. I must say, it was incredible. I discovered that all the pasta and breads are made in-house. I was torn between ordering the Bolognese or the Italian sausage with spaghetti. Nikki suggested I order the Bolognese and add an Italian sausage. I opted for that recommendation, while my wife ordered the chicken parm with spaghetti. Hands down, the best Italian food in Corpus Christi. My wife said that was the best chicken parm she's ever had, and by far one of the best Bolognese. This is a must-try. I understand this establishment has been here for some time, which is a shame because I haven't been here sooner. We'll definitely be coming back. if you happen to come this way, Just ask for Nikki! The Gold Fish has proven this long-held collective pessimism wrong. Originally a cocktail bar only, it has now expanded into a cocktail, beer and wine outdoor/indoor bar, which makes complete sense given the city's demographic demands. It was actually one of the first businesses I was most concerned with us losing permanently during the pandemic. And I am so glad they have stuck around! It is a modern cocktail bar at its core, which makes it very unique to this city. This is an obvious adoption of cocktail bar trends from other larger cities in Texas. It is very nice, with a wide array of adult beverage options for discriminating consumers to chose from. The atmosphere is perfect, and the bartenders and staff are top-notch and super nice (the attitude is refreshing compared to what one may be used to recieving from such establishments in larger cities). I usually only come here when I have company from out-of-town, as I do not go out for drinks very often. At my most recent visit, I had just experienced a personal tragedy that I only briefly alluded to our bartender when she asked how our day was going. The amount of sincere compassion we received was not expected at all. My only regret is that I did not get her name, or else I would have gladly included it in this review.

The restaurant itself has a luxurious, warm, and welcoming atmosphere that almost seems to transport you out of Corpus. There are great views of the Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium. We even saw some dolphins swim by! The food was fantastic. It was a cold day, so I ordered the shakshuka and my husband had the Turkish eggs and lamb sausage. The flavors were rich and bold. Both the house made foccacia and the baguette paired well with the tomato sauce. I was also a huge fan of the olive oil mixed with saba that came with the bread board. It gave the fruitiness of the oil a more complex sweetness. We finished off with the baklava which was also superb. Parking was ample and prices were very reasonable considering how much we ordered and the quality of food we got. Will be back to visit soon! This place was an absolute gem.

When the hostess saw us from the kitchen she immediately came out and told us to pick a table. We ordered and then I decided I wanted wine with my meal and asked for a glass of Chianti because, well, it's an Italian restaurant. The do not have any Italian wine so I got the glass of cab. My dad and husband ordered the minestrone soup and really enjoyed it. My husband and I shared 2 sandwiches: the spicy Italian sausage and meatball sandwiches. There was no spice in the spicy sausage so we added a lot of black pepper. The meatballs were small and a little dry but tasty. The power went out just before we got our meal so we weren't sure what was going to happen. The staff was apologetic and trying to figure out what was going on. We got our food and it was hot and fresh. We were told that we would need to pay in cash which I rarely have on hand so I'm not sure what would have happened if I said that we didn't have any. We ate in the dark and were offered no compensation. The wine list is atypical of an Italian restaurant and having to eat by only the light of the front door being open without any kind of compensation isn't the service one would expect. I hope they got power back.
