Herman Maycock has helped us many times with maintenance issues. He does so in a professional manner, with a positive attitude and in a very timely fashion. He always follows up to make sure we are satisfied with our maintenance issue. Stephanie Tripp and Louise Bellamy are great managers, always available for questions and concerns. 1. Fire alarms go off a lot by mistake. The alarms are so loud that it is physically painful to…read morethe ears inside of our apartments even though they are obviously false alarms. Sometimes in the middle of night and sometimes the day which can interrupt meetings when working from home. Can take hours for fire fighters to investigate the problem in order to turn off the alarms. 2. Ridicilous electrical bills at up to $500/month for a ~1200 sq ft apartment in the winters and months. This is clearly due to improper insulation on the first floor above the garage that management will not acknowledge. Management has installed Google Nest for smarter energy usage but that does not solve the core issue of not being properly insulated. It is not only my apartment as I have talked with many others on the first floor that are having the same issue. 3. Major problems with package delivery through the Luxer system. Packages are often lost, delivered to the wrong building, or delayed. They require a credit card on file to pay for packages that are not picked up within 3 days ($5/day). That is we are automatically charged for delivery mistakes. Management claims Luxer requires this but the Luxer app states "Property Management requires a valid credit card on file in order to pick up packages". No other options are available outside of Luxer and management is not considering replacing with a competent system. 4. With all of these problems, instead of solving the biggest issues, management chose to use budget to completely remodel the gym and club room which has taken several months of not having access there. Both were fine as was and I don't believe anybody but management (and maybe potential renters who they want to impress) cares about better aesthetics of the club room or gym. Management claims they have no control over any of these things. As a renter, I don't care who is responsible. If management will not be accountable for these things by blaming things outside of their control then the problem is still not solved. I will not be renewing my lease.

The decor in the building was something out of a magazine. They have a workout room with top of the line equipment, multiple lounge areas and computer room with huge tv's!!! I felt like I had stepped into a Peer one store. I recommend anyone to move over there if you are looking for a peaceful, safe and comfortable place to live.

The day my moving truck arrived from Atlanta was also the day I found out that the 2-bedroom apartment I was shown and told I was applying for was NOT the apartment I was actually getting. I specifically chose this community because I wanted a unit that was: * Away from the freeway * Filled with natural light from multiple sides * Close to the dog park These were not preferences--they were requirements that I clearly communicated to my leasing agent, Lina. Instead, I was given a unit directly next to the freeway, on a basement-level floor with almost no natural light, and on the complete opposite side of the property from the dog park. The options I was given were: 1. Take a 1-bedroom apartment instead 2. Take a 3-bedroom apartment and pay over $350 more per month 3. Get my money back and somehow find another apartment that same day while standing there with an entire moving truck full of my belongings. Melanie, the leasing agent who showed me the original apartment and told me it was the unit I was applying for, seemed completely unconcerned about the situation and offered little help. Victoria, the on-site manager, essentially told me my choices were to move into the wrong apartment or somehow find another place to live that same day. Now, only one week into my lease, they have found another 2-bedroom apartment that actually matches what I originally requested--but they expect me to pay over $350 more per month for it. I understand mistakes happen. What is unacceptable is showing someone one apartment, having them sign for another, and then putting them in an impossible situation after their entire life has already been loaded onto a moving truck and transported across state lines. I am one week into a 14-month lease, and if this is how residents are treated before they even unpack a box, I have very little confidence in what the next 14 months will look like.

Lori found it and LEFT IT OUT in the lobby where anyone could take it. And sure enough, it was stolen. When I suggested that they set up a lost and found in a secure area, Mackenzie defended Lori's action. BEWARE of the Berkshire rental agents, they will gladly give away anything you leave behind!

Any lower reviews have not reflected my experience at all. Like anyone, I had specific things I was looking for in an apartment. I wanted to be in the city, within walking distance to everyday spots, and, most importantly, somewhere I felt safe, comfortable, and at home. Edison Lofts has exceeded every single one of those expectations. The location is incredible! The building is nestled right between a coffee shop and a gelato shop, with *so many* restaurants and trendy spots nearby. I can walk to school, coffee, the YMCA, church, walking trails and pretty much anywhere else. I truly think the price is very reasonable for such a safe, cozy place right in the middle of everything Raleigh has to offer. As a single woman living alone, safety is incredibly important to me, and I have consistently felt secure here. The building is extremely secure, with key access required for entry, each floor, and from the parking garage. I've never had a single time where I felt unsafe or noticed anyone who didn't belong. Of course, like any city, you stay aware of your surroundings when out and about and use common sense, but Raleigh itself feels safe, and this building contributes to that sense of comfort. I've really loved the sense of community here, too. The staff put on events for residents that make the building feel more connected and welcoming and I appreciate the diversity of people who live here. It's a lot of young professionals, like me, but the building has plenty of families and older residents, too. There are also plenty of residents with dogs, which I love! The amenities are also a huge plus. People actually use the common spaces, which is, at least in my experience, rare. You'll regularly find people making coffee at the espresso machine in the morning or gathering for a game of pool on a Friday night. The 24/7 gym is fantastic, the pool area is beautiful, and the attached parking garage adds an extra layer of convenience when carrying in groceries, etc. It's clear the staff take pride in taking good care of the building. The maintenance team is kind, responsive, professional, altogether so great and the system to make maintenance requests is super easy and efficient. The entire building is exceptionally clean, which was highly important to me, too. Edison Lofts is truly cleaner than any other apartment complex I've seen in the city. I've never had a single issue with bugs. I actually haven't spotted a single bug, like, ever. The valet trash is well managed and it seems like the common areas and hallways are cleaned daily so the building smells nice. But what truly sets Edison Lofts apart is the staff; especially Nick. Nick was the first person who gave me a tour, and he completely set the tone for my experience. My sister and I came back the next day for another tour (and with lots of follow up questions) and he was just as kind and welcoming. I submitted a rental application a couple months later and Nick actually distinctly remembered my tour. I don't know how he does it. Since moving in, he has been such a positive, reliable presence; always friendly, always helpful, and someone who genuinely cares. One time my package got lost in the mail lockers, and Nick literally went through every locker with me until we found it. That level of effort meant so much. He truly goes above and beyond. Overall, the community feels friendly, the staff are incredible, and the entire experience has been better than I could have hoped for. I genuinely love living here and can't imagine being anywhere else during my time in law school. If you're considering Edison Lofts, I would absolutely recommend it. I typically don't use my car on the weekends. The leasing office team has gone through some staffing changes over the last three years, but the current crew is friendly and helpful. The maintenance team is great - they respond quickly to any repairs I've needed over the years (which have been very few). There's free coffee and tea and a really nice gym which I definitely take advantage of. I live over the pool and noise has never been an issue - I find other residents respectful and courteous. Overall, living here has been a great experience.

The staff are friendly, and it is peaceful here However, prices are very high. You can expect to pay a lot of money for a very small space. The leasing office is *not* good at providing residents with adequate notice that they will be entering their apartments -- you are typically lucky to recieve 1-3 days notice about non-elective inspections/if someone is entering your apartment for pest control, fire safety etc. They are random and not easily predictable, so you basically have to be available at all times if you have pets in order to be able to put them up in time! I have had to have shifts at work called off or coveted at the last minute due to them not informing us in a timely manner. Even worse; sometimes they never even show up, so you go out of your way to get everything together and maybe even miss work for nothing! The complex is great and for the most part, we are happy. However, please be aware that the price for square footage is not ideal, and expect not to receive much notice of management entering your apartment. They also split these up. So instead of doing their fire inspection at the same time they're checking your HVAC or doing any other inspections, they'll do the fire inspection one day, then a different inspection, then pest control, so someone is basically constantly in/out of your space, moreso than I have experienced with other apartment complexes. It is pretty disruptive. When doing one of these inspections, I mentioned to maintenance an issue that I was having with my dishwasher. They assured me they would follow up, but they didn't. I would rather they just had me file a formal request at that point, than lie and say they would come look at it. Generally, the leasing office and maintenance team could stand to communicate more and send notices out more in advance. They also send their reminders day-of, not in advance, AFTER the hours they would have been in your apartment. There is absolutely no point in sending those reminders after we need them!

This is the best…read moremanaged/best hands on staff I have ever experienced and it shows in their community manager Melissa Love, she is the most authentic, welcoming, personal manager I have dealt with in a long time and I do not think she gets enough credit because i honestly do not even know if she realizes she's doing it. I think it is just who she is. She is so attentive to every single person who lives here with her clear honest answers and her kind personality. I recently had some concerns and I emailed Melissa about them .. idk if it even took an hour for her to respond but she gave me the truth and she gave me a full detailed step by step response on what would happen and im not sure she even realized how badly i needed that full response . It's rare you have a manager that knows everyone's name at the pool and actually KNOWS the people and their families, cares about their concerns, as well as has a very clean and well kept property where they are quick to fix whatever you need basically on the spot. This has been an amazing experience and I am honestly sad to go because no one can compare to this amazing team. This is the spot in Raleigh you won't be disappointed.
