Something in my gut told me to get a second opinion-- and surprise, surprise -- my tooth is perfectly fine. A little discoloration, but no crown needed. Apparently, my only real problem was walking into a practice more interested $ than caring for its patients. This place gave major "scammy car mechanic" vibes -- which left me with a BAD taste in my mouth-- pun intended.

We were brand new to Towson in mid June and my wife's TMJ started acting up, bad. I called around to some local TMJ specialists and she was scheduled for appointments in August or November. That didn't help her now. Despite not having a TMJ specialist on staff, Valley Dental Health agreed to see her the same day I called. They took her in and gave her an exam. They wrote her a script to help deal with the pain and offered some people that she could follow up with for additional assistance. One of those people was able to see her within a day or two. While Valley Dental Health couldn't assist my wife with her specific issue, I appreciate how they brought her in and examined her in a timely manner, provided a temporary solution and offered some referrals that got her on the road to recovery.

First off, there are steps here. Because I am a wheelchair user, in order for me to get into an exam area I had to go around to the side of the business and come in the delivery door. I could not use the xray machine that revolves around the head because I'm too short and they don't have any sort of chair or stool to use. I was able to get x-rays the old fashioned way, where they make you bite down on those slides... Then I had to pay $30 out of pocket for the dental assistant to paint fluoride on my teeth, which peeled off throughout the day in a disgusting manner. She spent the entire exam recommending that I buy a $100 battery-powered toothbrush and the $50 replacement heads, cuz medicaid patients are just made of money, I guess. Thing is, she didn't want to sell the toothbrush personally. She suggested I get it on Amazon. Why the hard sell if she wasn't going to profit from it? I get through the exam and the actual dentist comes in. They discuss where I have cavities, they tell me I need to see an oral surgeon to get my wisdom teeth removed because at least two have cavities, but they never told me when to make the appointments or how to find a surgeon. It's been over a year since that appointment and I'm glad my teeth don't hurt because doing the research to find another dentist has been a pain in the butt. My boyfriend used the same dentist the week before to get three teeth removed. He's still in pain when he eats. Yes, a year later. He was present at my exam and mentioned his pain several times, but neither the dentist nor the assistant gave any cares. I cannot recommend this chopshop. There are many dentists in the dundalk area. Try one of those instead (though not the one on Merritt Blvd near jalapeños cuz the receptionists there don't know what they're doing). Ever since the switch over from Dr. Levy things shifted. Call and text me 18 times before to confirm but wake me up on my day off at 7am to cancel my appointment because the hygienist got sick. Ok people get sick but if I would've got sick and tried to cancel the morning of I'm charged a fee. They cancel but I was having pain as well on one side so wanted to still come in. They tell me I can come in at 8 am so they woke me up and now I got to jump up and get dressed and run there if I want to be seen. Fine, while there I reschedule my cleaning and I'm off on fridays so that's best. Made appointments got call next day to from hygienist to schedule it earlier we go threw dates and times and I let her know what I do and cant leave work till 530 but she apparently doesn't work on Fridays i assume from the conversation we had. So against my better judgment I say fine let's do Thursday at 330. I had to clear this with my leadership to dismiss my class 2 hrs early and try to make it there. I'm coming from Columbia area so traffic I call tell them this and tell them I'm on the way. I arrived late of course around 340 or so and get told after all that unfortunately it's too late to be seen. I just short changed my students one day, lost some money off my check cause I left early just to be told unfortunately I can't be seen. I never wanted that day she acted as if Friday just wasn't an option. Front desk asked me if I wanted to reschedule. No thank you. I wish I didn't cause I really liked Dr Levy but it seems like I need to start looking into finding a new dentists preferably one that operates on a Friday cause Brooklyn Park dental definitely does not.

Despite that, this is the only medical provider I've ever seen where if you don't confirm an appointment, they cancel it without even notifying you (though they'll call and text repeatedly asking you to confirm). The first time this happened was December of last year. I explained that I already struggle with dental anxiety and take a sedative before visits, which makes last-minute cancellations especially difficult. Instead of understanding, Dr. F responded by saying many patients have state insurance and around the holidays "money is tight," so they cancel unconfirmed appointments to fill slots. Not only was this offensive, but it also felt like a baseless assumption about me and other patients. They promised to "flag" my account so it wouldn't happen again. Multiple family appointments with no issue after that. Fast forward to today: I left work early, showed up for my 1:00 appointment (after waiting outside 20 minutes while the office was closed for lunch), only to be told once again, "Oh no, you didn't confirm, so your appointment was cancelled." No call. No text. No respect for my time. I immediately cancelled all future appointments for myself and my family. I've never had a healthcare provider require confirmation to keep an appointment, especially when I already confirm at the time of booking and track everything in my calendars. Most offices simply charge a no-show fee if you miss--it's fair and professional. Here, however, patients who show up on time are punished because they didn't jump through an extra hoop. I had even referred extended family to this office, but after this experience, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The lack of professionalism, disregard for patients, and tone-deaf policies are absolutely unacceptable.

My dental hygienist was polite, efficient, kind, and had a gentle hand as she did my cleaning. When I was able to meet with Dr. Ouazana, she was clearly excited and takes pride and care in the work she does. She outlined the plan for my tooth care clearly and made sure I was onboard for every step of the process. At the end, my bill was as expected and I was provided with estimates for next work so I could budget appropriately. I have scheduled my return for my next cleaning in 6 months and look forward to seeing them again!

I…read morehad no intentions of leaving a review, but I received a letter in the mail today telling me that I'm know longer allowed to be seen at the practice unless it was an emergency. I have not been to Dorsey Family Dentist since June of 2024 and I had no intentions of going back. There were many issues with the new dentist that took over the practice. There was a lack of communication, billing issues and multiple visits to correct issues with my night guard and crown/implant. The old practice (Dr. Cook) would have did it correct the first time. Again, It is very strange that he took the time to type a letter to inform me that I could no longer be a patient and I have not been to this office since 2024.

I will never go to this dentist again. They installed a crown on a tooth and it did not fit…read moreproperly, causing hot/cold sensitivity, bleeding and pain when eating. After several return trips to fix this issue they decided to replace the crown. The pain and sensitivity did not go away and I again returned several more times to have them fix it. They never did so I switched dentists hoping for better results. The new dentist discovered what they call an open contact which allowed food to get in and create an Infection. I also now needed a root canal because of this. The new dentist fixed me all up but it cost me a thousand dollars out of pocket because my insurance was used up on the first dentist. In summery, because of Clearly Dental I needed to have an abcess fixed, needed a root canal, needed to have a crown replaced, needed to pay 1000.00 out of pocket and lost time from work.
