This former Giant, now Central European supermarket has all the luxurious space of its original occupant, plus the fantastic culturally diverse foodstuffs from the dozen countries that call that piece of the Old World, home. It is clean and exceedingly well provisioned. As a first time visitor it is like being an anthropologist exploring a great culinary museum. The prices for fruit and vegetables are among the best in the region. Their deli department is rich in dishes that remind me of grandma's cooking. The blintzes, latkes, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sours display are very good, although I prefer the mushroom, potato and grain fillings over the chunky meats that are hard to chew and digest. Their dairy aisle is full of milk and alternatives, kefir and cheeses. Their chocolates from Central Europe are wonderful. Don't miss all the unsweetened juices from Georgia and Azerbaijan. Love the unsweetened pomegranate. Service is friendly and patient with all the questions from the uninitiated like me. I mean, I know what I want, but haven't been exposed to all the possibilities before. My grandparents would be ecstatic.

I still like this store but since I last went here they've more or less trashed their wine selection. They used to have all kinds of esoteric selections from Kosovo, Bulgaria . Moldova- you name it. Now the selection is about half the size and kind of dull. I guess they could not move what they had. It remains a very nice grocery store.

That product was sold to me and I was told it was my fault it went that bad!?

Best prices on produce. The selection of European juices and packaged bakery items is great, too.

My dad's 80th birthday is coming up and he loves good olive oil, cheese, pasta, and prosciutto. If you do too - then Roma's is your spot! Service was very friendly and efficient. I walked out with soppressata from the Bronx - the type you'd see hanging in an old school deli. Also some Buffalo mozzarella, Aged prosciutto sliced nice and thin, house made sausage, Olive oil that was Sicilian and not Tuscan (but highly recommended by the deli guy), some house made ravioli, manicotti and stuffed shells, marinara and vodka sauce, impulse buy lamb chops and an Italian sub. Of course I also got the parmigano reggiano, asiago, AND they have scamorza cheese AKA "scamutz!" If you've never heard of scamutz, it's like a cross between mozzarella and provolone. There's a bar in hazleton, PA that makes pizza with it. Very good. Seems somewhat hard to find in my part of NJ but maybe I don't look hard enough. Only thing I forgot was bread. Hey I'm a 'medigan - forgive me. If you aren't sure what's good, just ask them. Staff is very kind and helpful. Sure I spent a couple Benjamin's and a Grant, but we can't take it with us and memories last forever. I'm glad Roma's is around to play a part in the memories we will make for my father's special day. Here's to many more for him, and for this fine purveyor of Italian delicacies!

But they have so much in the way of meats and all your different cuts. One side of the store has seafood and vegetables. There's a section of meats that you probably wouldn't find elsewhere like kangaroo and ostrich among others. They have the special Waygu at over $100 a pound. In the front of the store they sell all kinds of pantry goods. The store is more than brightly lit and clean and the staff is more than happy to answer your questions. They also have their own branded meats and a customer program. As far as pricing is concerned, I did not feel that they were much higher or lower than what I've seen in the grocery stores or Sam's Club. I was hoping that they had a section for unfrozen meats and fish on ice for sale. I ended up buying four bags of Argentine 13/15 shrimp, four Bronzino, and two packages of pork chops for about $150. I'd come back.
