I remember for certain I did because I didn't have one of my cards handy so had to quickly go online and transfer money into a different account and then give her the other card number. She argued with me on the phone saying I definitely didn't give her a card number and was very rude. Unfortunately, you've lost a customer and I won't be recommending you around the village either. Very disappointed as we like to support small local businesses whenever possible.

Its handy and local which is about all it has going for it. Theres an internet café on Rathgar avenue, not far away which has 3 times the PC's and a lot more space I'll be going there in future when required.

This shop will personalise almost anything for you! well not everything but lots of stuff, you can get frames engraved, bathrobes with your name on it, wedding candles with pictures on them, things for new babies and for hen parties. you can even get a high vis vest personalised! ( i thought that was unique!) Of course it doesnt have to be your name that goes on all these things which means that you could get something really unique for someone. The result is a battle of wills; until a gift is chosen, you are not leaving. Until you leave, the shop staff cannot close up, the tension mounts, you wander aimlessly as staff follow from a distance like an inept spy, always in your peripheral vision. I come to the unexpectedly large display of Orla Kiely stuff - she seems to have put her name on everything from notebooks to butter dishes, I brush past the expected Moss and Stephen Pearce pottery and Waterford crystal and on to the selection of odd/gifyt (yes, it's a word) books like the Little book of Calm (a must for anyone who watched the comedy Black Books). The selection is brilliant, lots to browse and inspire but overall, the shop lacks soul; it is a bit too clinical or something, it doesn't quite mesh with the handmade / crafty vibe you expect from a Kilkenny Design shop. Thimbles is tucked away above the shops on Rathgar; follow the sign up the stairs where you are greeted and there's dressing rooms to try on your clothes and have them altered. I've taken many items there with great results -- good work, and timely. I ordered some expensive woolen clothes that all needed just a bit of custom work to make them perfect -- and Thimbles did just that. Thank you!
