I've been taking lessons weekly at Bella Angel for over seven years! Starting with learning bass guitar and then switching to guitar lessons, taking music lessons there is one of the best decisions I have ever made. All of the teachers I have had in my many years are not only some of the best-trained and intelligent musicians I have ever met but the best teachers I've had in my whole life! From being taught as a beginner to in-depth lessons about music theory, I have always felt both comfortable, yet challenged enough to improve my playing. Through setting goals with my teachers and having their support along the way, my abilities improve each week. In the last year, I've joined my high school jazz band and consistently ranked superior in competitions. Another addition that makes Bella Angel Music stand out is their fall and spring recitals. They showcase the hard work of all students- young and old- and truly attest to the accomplishments of the Bella Angel teachers and performers. Recitals are one of the best ways for students to challenge themselves and prove to themselves they can accomplish anything! My recital pieces were always challenging, but I've learned that with effort, anything is possible; a lesson which definitely carries on no matter the situation. I will be moving out of state to attend college this fall, but my teacher has given me all I need to continue practicing and learning about music. I am extremely thankful for my experience, as it has truly helped shape me into the musician I have always wanted to be and the passionate student I am today. I have been attending Bella Angel Music for a couple of months now. I am an adult that always had dreams of learning how to play a musical instrument. I was given an acoustic guitar about ten years ago from a friend I worked with, and I was even more driven, but still too apprehensive. I was even told by friends that play, (some for fun, and some for profit), that to try to learn to play an instrument as an adult is very difficult. Again, I was a bit discouraged, but I found Ellen on Face Book, and she put the, "can do" attitude in me and made me feel that I can do it. I have an instructor, Chris, who I feel is totally dedicated to help me fulfill my desire to play guitar. As a matter of fact, one of the first questions Chris asked me was: "Why do you want to learn to play guitar.". I am so confident now with my ability to pick up a new hobby in the 43rd year of my life, that I have committed to a long term relationship with Bella Angel Music. I am yet another product that disproves the adage, "You can't teach an old dog new tricks". Tonight was Bella Angel Music's spring recital and I had the unique opportunity to be both performer and part of the enthusiastic audience. I have studied voice with Ellen for years. It astounds me how much stronger my singing is because of my studies. Performing at Bella Angel's recitals has improved my confidence in other parts of my life as well. I absolutely enjoy attending Bella Angel's recitals to watch all of the different performers. Bella caters to all ages. Getting up and performing in front of a crowd can be very nerve wracking but each instructor is right there to encourage their students and/or accompany them. I love to watch the youngest performers at the piano or sitting in chair playing guitar and their feet do not touch the ground! I love watching the laser focus on their music and their fingers and the grin of satisfaction when they take their bow. Music has always been an important part of my life and I enjoy seeing the love of music grow in young people. I started taking piano lessons with Ellen quite a few years ago and she always zoned in om my weaknesses, helping me strengthen them, yet never made me feel like my mistakes were bringing me down. She just encouraged me to keep going and learn from them. Since then, I've switched over to guitar lessons. I've had Chris as a teacher for the past year and a half or two. It's been a great experience as well. He allows me to pick what I want to work on, and helps me work out the kinks throughout the learning process. He continues to give me tips on how to make certain things easier om and gives me exercises to help me work out the issues whenever I can't quite get a hang of a technique. This has been my first year participating in a recital and I have to say I couldn't have done it without Chris pushing me to do it, assuring me that I have had good practice and had what it takes to perform. It was my greatest fear in music and I'm glad to say it did not get the best of me this time. All in all, it's a guaranteed good experience with any of these staff members. I began taking guitar lessons with Chris Parsons at Bella Angel Music in February 2013. My prior experience playing music was playing the accordion from the age of about 7 until I was 18 years old. I knew how to read music throughout that time, but had since forgotten the basics. Chris has done an incredible job of re-introducing me to reading music, and I've slowly begun to learn how to read it for the guitar. I've made a lot of progress and really appreciate how great Bella Angel Music is. I recently participated in a recital that they put together for their students of all ages. There were children very young, as well as a couple of adults including myself. It was nice to see others share their musical talents with the audience. I feel like the teachers and owners really make an effort to make their students feel like they are a part of a family. They are all very encouraging, and truly believe in the power of music, and the value that it offers. Bella Angel Music is an incredible place for kids as well as adults to learn music. I've been taking lessons with Bella Angel for the past four years and thanks to that I can now call myself a pianist - a term I never imagined I could call myself. I have begun my lessons there as a late 20's adult and never expected to actually discover I can play the piano. Yet that is exactly what happened. Fantastic side effects occurred as well. Thanks to the piano lessons my hand/eye coordination has been incredible. I am a lot more patient with myself. I am a lot more focused and stay focused easily. I also smile a lot when I play. Music makes my soul happy and I am incredibly grateful for Diane and Ellen and their willingness to share and teach their musical gifts. We love this studio. Our 7 years old daughter has been taking piano lessons for almost two years and have recently started drum lessons. We are extremely happy with her experienced and highly skilled teachers Mrs. B and Ellen her piano teachers and Josh her drum teacher. They are very patient and kind. Whenever my daughter gets home from her lessons, you can see the excitement on her face while she talks about the lessons she just had with her teachers. You can feel that they truly interact with her. Her interest in music has grew as well. My daughter now is interested and is talking about taking guitar lessons too. And we will definitely have her take it at Bella Angel Music. We wouldn't pick any other studio for our daughter and we are glad that we found Bella Angel Music. read more

At first I was a bit skeptical about picking up guitar at age 25, but after driving past Bella Angel music studio every day from work, I decided to give it a shot. I signed up for lessons in January of 2012 and have continued ever since! I have had the pleasure of working with two great instructors, Chris and Josh, both are amazing guitarists with degrees in music. Bella Angel's extended hours also make it great for anyone with a busy schedule like me. It's been almost a year now since I started playing and I cannot be happier with the progress I have made. My teenage daughter has been with Ellen, her voice teacher, for six months now, and my husband and I have noticed a marked improvement in her singing. She had her first recital last week, and was amazed to hear how well she sang! Ellen has taught her many new things she has never learned with her previous voice teacher. My daughter records every lesson, per Ellen's request, and practices everyday with it--it's like she is taking lessons everyday! It took me over 6 months to find a good music school for my 10 year old daugther and I'm so glad I found Bella Angel Music. She is taking vocal lessons with Ellen and its incredible how in short period of time my daugther has gain so much confidence and her voice has improve tremendeously. Ellen is a wonderful music instructor. I have been taking lessons with her for a few years now. She really helped me get back into music again after I quit playing the piano for a year.
