I know this review is very late, but I began receiving care at DelVal OBGYN in September 2024…read more Because of my age, my pregnancy was considered high‑risk, and throughout that time I saw every doctor, as well as Jennifer the nurse practitioner, Jennifer the midwife, and all the medical assistants and nurses. Every single person has been kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. Whenever I needed an appointment, they made sure I got one. Whenever I had a question, someone always called me back, which meant a lot during this time where I often felt anxious. I also appreciate that the receptionist at the Lawrence office--and even medical assistants and doctors I'm not scheduled to see that day--always greet me by name and with a smile. It makes the office feel welcoming and personal. Dr. Gamburg performed my C‑section and safely delivered our baby last year. He is compassionate, patient, and truly dedicated to his patients. When I needed surgery last November to remove a polyp, he took excellent care of me once again. Most recently, on March 20, 2026, I saw him for breast pain, and his gentle bedside manner immediately put me at ease. He ordered the necessary tests and called me as soon as the results were available. I feel incredibly blessed to have him as my doctor and trust him completely with my health. You couldn't ask for a better physician or surgeon.

I will start by saying that I wish I could leave a 0 for the rating. It is obvious based on…read morereading many other reviews of this practice that they are not concerned about patients. I have been trying to make my annual appointment for months. The hold times are horrendous, if they even answer the phone. When they finally answer the phone, the receptionist is rude and unkind. There is a continuous run around regarding being all booked up and saying call back in a month for an appointment.

While I was initially devastated at the thought of a C-section Chelsea was there the whole time, helping me ask the right questions of my providers and allowing me to feel heard and part of the decision. When my baby's heartrate started dropping and he was born with severe torticollis it was clear that he was in a very bad position and the surgery prevented what could have been a very serious outcome. With my second I was determined to have a VBAC, but any C-section mama will tell you, this can be an uphill fight when it comes to your provider. Chelsea and Lauren were available to talk after every appointment. I could vent, and ask questions, and figure out exactly how to put myself in the best possible position to have a vaginal delivery. I'm so pleased that I was able to have a VBAC this past April with my second son and I know that a huge part of it came down to the support of my doulas! These women are so dedicated, staying with you for hours and hours, sitting with you on the floor, holding your hand, wiping your sweat, and squeezing your hips. This is the type of support all birth moms deserve!

I truly cannot say enough positive about this doula. I found Jessi during the pregnancy with my…read moredaughter. The pregnancy was an emotionally difficult time for me and overall negative experience, and I struggled with very bad anxiety that something would go wrong. I had a horrible experience with my first doctor where I felt completely mistreated and downright bullied so I fired this doctor well into the 3rd trimester, as I realized i did not want to see her again or have her deliver my baby. Throughout this, she was such a source of peace to me, always there to listen or answer questions and supported me as I found a new practitioner at 35 weeks. At that point I took the only doctor in my area who would take me so late into the game, and although they were better and more respectful than the first doctor I saw, they still were not like minded to myself- they were very medical and intervention minded, and I have always known I wanted a natural birth with no intervention unless absolutely necessary. Switching doctors so late, not having a close relationship with my provider, and also working with someone who i wasn't on the same page with, it was SO great to have someone who I felt was there for me to really support me and who I had developed a relationship with. When there was something I worried about, Jessi was always there with a quick response to reassure me, and to listen; she has a calming way about her. She also always had tons of resources and referrals (for instance my baby was breech until the 11th hour and she provided me with resources and exercises, and by the birth she was headdown). Jessi was also so helpful, supportive, amazingly valuable to have during my birth. Honestly i do not know how i could have gotten through an over 30 hour labor trying to be as natural as possible, without her support. She truly went above and beyond for my husband, myself and my family. The contract was for her to be there 24 hours, she stayed with me for the whole time which included being up all night by my side, which was way beyond what we had agreed upon. She helped my husband to better support me (initially he was not in favor of natural birth or a doula and he has changed his mind and now says he would tell any couple who is expecting to get a doula). He got to rest a bit, which was needed. Also at times when the doctors were rude or pushy re: interventions in my labor, she helped me to think through things and advocate for myself. Although my birth wasn't fully according to plan I felt that Jessi helped support me to make decisions etc. in the moment and I feel overall good about the choices I made in birth given the doctor and hospital I was at that wasn't on the same page as myself... I was extremely nervous going into the birth and she was such a peaceful, calming presence to have there. Also i am very scared of hospital and medical things in general and probably acted in unexpected ways because of that during my birth, and i never once felt judged by her for that... She also updated my mom who was also very anxious about how things were going throughout the experience of my labor probably keeping her from having a heart attack :) ... all in all Jessi is an amazing, talented doula who you can tell truly does what she does from a place of passion and a heart for women in pregnancy and birth, and I would recommend her to anyone or hire her again in a heartbeat.

Erin has always been encouraging and supportive as we have had 4 home births with her as well as a few miscarriages. I had a traumatic time working with Erin in 2021. It was my first pregnancy and things were going…read morewell at first. In the second trimester, she started mentioning that my blood pressure was elevated. I looked up standards online and it was not yet elevated, so this seemed more precautionary at this point. She kept mentioning that every single appointment. I started to feel extremely anxious going into her office. I was terrified of being risked out and I felt very helpless because I had already paid the majority of the agreed upon payment, so I couldn't transfer to someone else. Around 30 weeks is when things took a turn for the worse. I was panicking about appointments at this point, which of course would give an elevated reading. However, it was when she checked my fundal height and implied that I have gestational diabetes, without doing any testing, that really drew the line. At that point, the only testing I've had was A1C at the beginning and it was borderline pre-diabetes, so based off of that and her checking fundal height, she was asking for a growth scan with no other testing. I was not offered to check my sugars with a glucose monitor, no fasting sugar test, no 1 or 3 hour test, nothing, but her hunch. This also happened at the appointment after I made my final payment to her. At this point I stopped going to her because the anxiety I had was causing me too much stress. Feeling like you will be risked every single appointment based off of hunches made me feel so helpless. She never offered for me to check my blood pressure at home. She never offered anything except what I suspect is discrimination towards my weight. She assumed my higher weight meant health issues, and I guess it was too much liability for her. But, she had no problem keeping everything I paid her. I've worked with other midwives since and they know about this situation and to this day I am measuring BP at home because doing it in office brings up a lot of this for me anxious. That's why I called this experience traumatic, it truly was for me. To make things even worse, when I was giving birth at the hospital, she transferred records and in her records had but that I have hypertension and gestational diabetes, which led to extra testing to my baby. The hospital was shocked by both of those records because my BP was perfect during birth and my and my babies sugars were perfect as well. They wondered after the fact why it even said that. So not only did she risk me out for refusing a growth scan, she then sent false records based off of her hunches to a medical facility. The hypertension part I can understand bc of the readings in office (they never actually reached 140, which is the diagnosis for hypertension), but to say I have GD with zero testing to a hospital, as a "natural" midwife, is just beyond anything imaginable. I've gone on to have a successful home birth with wonderful midwives who actually cared about me and my wellbeing. They never assumed anything about my weight, they gave me tons of options for testing to make sure we have a full picture of my health. They never made me feel like I would get risked out. If anything was every wrong, we talked about it extensively, including what to do to help the situation (iron). If you look at Erin's website, you will find zero photos of anyone who is at a higher weight. She did not have to agree to work with me. I chose her because she claimed to be inclusive. This was a lie that cost me emotionally, financially and ruined my first birth being a home birth. I'm happy to provide proof of working together through email correspondence and receipts.
