I'm deeply frustrated with this clinic and I'm so glad I switched. First off, they told me that…read morethey don't take my insurance and I had to pay out of pocket. That's fine, not everyone is in network, but the way they said it made me think that I have zero fertility coverage, not just that they specifically aren't covered (the clinic I switched to DOES accept my insurance). I should have checked with my insurance but they definitely should have been more clear. Anyway, so every time I had an appointment I checked out at the front desk and asked what we owe. My intention was to pay out of pocket as we went, every single time. Yet after my first and only failed IUI, we were told we had a surprise $700 bill. I repeatedly asked to speak with the finance team that never called me back. Also, after the failed IUI, I didn't get a SINGLE phone call or message in the portal indicating sympathy. Nothing whatsoever, just something to the effect of "let us know when you want to come in again". We pay thousands of dollars out of pocket and you can't leave one voicemail saying we're so sorry this didn't work? Nothing?! And instead just "hey you owe us another $700" I'll leave a single star because their front desk person seemed nice.

Regardless of what they tell you you will owe or what is covered by insurance, do not believe them. Get absolutely everything pre approved in writing down to individual tests and visits even when they tell you they are covered because they will fall back on a general waiver they force you to sign at the beginning. They take no responsibility in providing accurate cost estimates and will absolutely blame you for their lies. We were told that we would have no costs for a given cycle and even with insurance coverage for the procedure, they claimed that we should have known that they were not contracted by the insurance provider for the specific treatment. When we asked for the contract details, which would have been the only way to know this in advance and determine that their guidance was wrong, they refused and said it was private. So their position is that even if they tell us something wrong and provide a service they are not contracted to provide, it is on us to know the truth they refuse to disclose and because we signed a waiver, they can charge us anything they want. Do not go to this clinic. If you do, don't trust any numbers they say or quote. And get ready for the most irresponsible and unprofessional example of exploiting patients.

I have already spent hours coordinating between MLF, the pharmacy and insurance. MLF forgot to order half of my stim medications, twice - what in the world???! Once, they straight up forgot and once, it got fallen through the cracks. This is unacceptable and all they could do is say they will have a serious conversation with the nurse who made this error. I had to already correct them with when my baseline monitoring appt should've been scheduled. Definitely feel like just a number due to the lack of communication, transparency and coordination. I have so many friends who did IVF nationwide and none of their practices acted like this. The prelude app is atrocious. You can't even see the full messages in the messaging portal, which is also super frustrating. You can't even attach attachments in a message. Feels like you have to fend for yourself, educate yourself and be your own advocate. The fact that they can't provide any itemized financial estimates for an investment like IVF, is mind blowing. I hope to have a better experience as we continue with our cycle so I can come back to this review and add some positive aspects of MLF.

They are gossipers and violate HIPAA constantly. They gossip about patients, complain about them constantly like they are this incredible burden, and air very private patient information in front of other patients. Scheduling is difficult and getting a message or call back for an important question, even when a doctor should be on call after hours, is incredibly difficult. I do not recommend this practice and I am shocked that Penn has not shut it down.

However, on that day, they asked me to transfer three embryos at one time, then we ended up at transfer two at a time. It of course didn't succeed. But you can see how they changed their mind.and in Oct we had one remaining embryo transferred and didn't succeed either. For the second cycle consultation, the doctor even forgot you have already transferred the remaining embryo. What is worse is in the second cycle. The bills they sent to us are unclear but we still paid the debt collectors as they told us. However, after I even purchased expensive medication, they refused me to do the second cycle and asking me to pay bill again. However, the financial department already agreed to accept the debt collectors payment. But they discontinued the process which caused us a lot of cost , no matter financially, mentally and physically. Later on when you are going to do IVF with them, please make sure they won't discontinue with your service

I had quite a journey with RMA and am ultimately landing on a review between 4 and 5 stars. It's…read morehard for any practice to achieve perfection in fertility treatment - there are so many interactions and variables. I visited RMA over 25 times during my care across 3 different locations. But overall, it came together well and I left feeling like RMA was in my corner and delivered on their promise. I'm very grateful to them for helping us. Doctors Our initial interactions with RMA doctors were not good. Some of the older doctors in the practice are very condescending and controlling - one said some very offensive things to us. Stuff that would make your jaw drop. We considered terminating care but ultimately contacted the practice manager who took our concerns very seriously and we switched to another RMA doctor who we liked right away. This doctor created a very personalized treatment plan and helped us make the right choices at each stage of the process. He also kept me safe through very close monitoring during a very long IVF stim process where I was at very high risk of OHSS and had 10 visits in 14 days. Financial counseling RMA has a robust financial counseling department that gave us accurate information about our costs and took swift action with preapprovals and insurance. In addition, I had to submit some appeals to my insurance and they produced supportive materials / letters swiftly. I received an insane bill from a third party for the anesthesia and they were on it right away - it was a mistake. Our personal financial breakdown: Procedures and appointments $25 copays PGT testing $3000 (optional) Embryo biopsy $1700 (optional) Meds $2200 Insurance paid for everything else Nursing and medical assistant care We had good interactions with nurses and MAs and some of the MAs started to treat us like friends over time. One area that could use improvement is the prior authorization process for drugs - this is managed by MAs and there is no direct line to patients for questions and concerns. "You can't speak to them but we can pass along a message." I had a complex situation (two insurances with different rules) and really needed personalized help. I eventually - through sheer willpower - figured out who to speak to and their email address (and they were happy to help) and got them to submit the right authorizations but by then it was too late. I paid $2200 out of pocket for my meds and the next week an insurance approval letter arrived. Nothing was reimbursed because the approval came too late. Focus on patient comfort IVF treatment is not comfortable but it doesn't have to be traumatic and you should be in control. At RMA in my experience, if you don't advocate for yourself, you may find yourself in physically uncomfortable situations, usually mild but it was definitely upsetting for me at times. For example, if you prefer to insert the ultrasound wand or if you want Valium for procedures - you will have to know to ask. I expressed that I didn't want to do 9 weeks of IVF progesterone shots and my doctor agreed to do a natural cycle - had I not asked, it might not have been offered. Some doctors at RMA don't do any natural cycles. I also turned down the hysteroscopy procedure because of anticipated discomfort and they were not happy - I had to really put my foot down. Eventually they offered to do it under anesthesia to try to convince me, I still said no. My mock transfer and FET transfer were also tricky, taking almost 20 minutes each, and they did present me with options like Valium and even anesthesia for the FET after the mock transfer left the doctor sweating but I had to ask. One other thing I noticed that really bothered me is that the receptionist asks male patients dropping off sperm if they've abstained from sex SO LOUDLY that everyone in the waiting room can hear. Give the guy a little privacy, come on. Communication I was pleased with the communication processes from RMA. There are multiple ways to receive your results and there is always someone to answer your questions. If they say they're going to call, they always do. Instructions for medication administration are thorough and you always know what to expect. Overall result RMA delivered on their promise and got me pregnant with one round of IVF, which is what they expected (they said it was about a 70% chance per round if you do PGT testing). I would recommend them to other patients with the caveat that you should have a perspective on what you want, pick the doctor that suits you, and stick up for yourself.

If I am straight to the point, I have to say Dr. Gittens approach has restored my libido to where…read moreit was before my libido had tanked at just under 30 years old. I have been a patient of Dr. Gittens and his helpful team for about two years now. I'm leaving this review two years later because the end of a year (2018) makes us think. I'm thinking about how Dr. Gittens drastically changed my life for the better. Prior to my first consultation (29 years old) I had somehow lost my libido overnight, yet it took me at least four months to realize the change. Losing a strong libido just like that affected every facet of my life - relationships with women, relationships with family and my friends, and also my interest in hobbies and socializing. I think the point I realized it was truly an issue was during an all-inclusive Caribbean vacation with my girlfriend at the time. I actively avoided anything sexual and when we did I had issues. It not only hurt her feelings thinking I am just not attracted to her, but also made me realize how serious it is that at just under thirty years old I was struggling. To put it simply, I was beyond confused and worried prior to my first consultation with Dr. Gittens. I didn't find him through a referral but instead through my own methods. His social media pages are active (good sign), he's been quoted in just about every popular magazine from Men's Health to Buzzfeed, he has positive reviews on Yelp, Google, and other places, he's won the Philadelphia Top Doctor Award multiple times (big deal if you know Philly well), checking his LinkedIn for even more information about where he went to school, that he taught as an adjunct professor, and his experience working as a Sexual Medicine Specialist for years. I called afterward to potentially schedule an appointment and it was a good sign that his team answered the phone on my first attempt because it shows Dr. Gittens and his team run a solid medical practice and are in sync. During that first consultation Dr. Gittens asked me about myself, lifestyle, medical history, current medications, why I was here (libido), and helped establish a timeline. This was all done in his Bala office with a second monitor facing me as he was able to better explain specifics about potential causes and what we would do to restore my libido. I came out feeling good mentally and got the specific medical labs Dr. Gittens requested. My second appointment shortly after was when we took-action. We discussed the problem in greater detail and with the labs Dr. Gittens to explain his thoughts clearly and with diagrams to demonstrate some points. Although my labs came out somewhat normal, Dr. Gittens was able to think outside of the box and not dismiss me like I expect other busy doctors would. The appointment ended with me trying a new medication. It worked well for some time and without side effects. My libido was not entirely back to normal but at least I was making progress. I followed up with Dr. Gittens every few months and over the past few years we have added a few more medications (nothing too serious) and over the past few years it has increased significantly nearly to the point before I had any problems. But it's never a clear path and I guess that is where many patients give up - no matter what the person is being treated for. I trust Dr. Gittens and so we continued to adjust my medication while I also tried living a healthier lifestyle. It's a little more than week since the start of 2018 and I have had a consistent, very solid libido for at least six months now. That doesn't mean I'm done and don't need Dr. Gittens help anymore. My body will continue to change as I age and my lifestyle changes. I don't expect my current regimen to be permanent. That would be completely unrealistic when it comes to something like sexual medicine. But for the time being everything is great and when my libido inevitably changes - 1 month or 10 years from now, I'll be returning to Dr. Gittens again for help and adjustments. But at the moment I have appointments no more than four times per year. What Dr. Gittens has done to help me is life-changing. Anyone reading this might not really "get it" until it happens to them. Sexual Medicine Specialists don't grow on trees. It's a very particular type of medical field and being able to find one of the few that are great at what they do is rare. Reflecting on 2018 I count Dr. Gittens as one of the most impactful people to my life this past year. Can I give six stars instead of five?

I'm so pleased with the results that I travel regularly from Massachusetts to his offices in Pennsylvania and New York for office visits.
