Went there on a recommendation from a friend and I'm glad we did. We ordered a pizza to eat there and take with us, which was delicious and a lasagna to go. We were famished from a two day weekend bike-packing through the Shenandoah NF and looking for something local on the way home. It was really a coin-toss between Bella and what appeared to only be one other non-chain restaurant in Bedford, so Bella got the nod this time. Walking in as a non-local is a little weird as we didn't see the front door and I guess walked in on a young lady folding pizza boxes that directed us to the left. We were trying to take in the space as it has some high walls and many, many hundreds of curios and wine bottles stacked atop all of the dividers... it really is kind of sight sensory overload. We finally found the front door, confirmed that it was just the two of us and were told it was "okay, you're here now" about walking in the side door. Seated quickly as it was mid-afternoon and very low traffic inside. Wait staff were quick, attentive, and happy to oblige two thirsty travelers guzzling waters. My buddy ordered the spaghetti and I ordered what I thought was a personal calzone with spinach, Mozz, sausage, and sauce... what I received was larger than my dinner plate and easily broken into two meals. Yay for hungry people! The garlic knots brought out before the food were a nice touch. I added a little crushed red pepper to them for a kick. Everything was hot, tasted fresh, and the dipping sauce was excellent. Absolutely no complaints on the food or service. The Peroni went down fast and cold, just the way I like them! I would probably give five stars if not for all the odds and ends stacked atop the dividers in the dining area. It really overwhelms the space and doesn't really provide a nice ambiance. read more

Andrea and Lori, the owners are so great and the manager, Jimmy is the sweetest man and always so helpful. I wish they were on door dash because I'd be ordering from them non-stop. Also wish they had a bar for mixed drinks. They do serve wine and beer in the restaurant though. I've eaten here numerous times and everything has been superb, until today. It was very hot working outside today so a hearty salad sound like it would fit the bill. We both ordered the Giardiniera salad. It was a large salad loaded with a variety of veggies. Italian meets and cheeses. Looks amazing but into a few bites we became aware of an overwhelming taste of salt. The marinated carrots and cauliflower were almost inedible. We asked the server if this was how it was supposed to be? she answered "yes, this was an Italian customary marinade." We were a little disappointed because otherwise, the salad would've been excellent if it wasn't so salty. Personally, I love salt, adding it to everything I eat! So, this was surprising to me that it was inedible to my palette. I'm disappointed because the dish has so much potential for a menu favorite for both of us! We simply picked out those items. I wouldn't order it again if, this is not correctable. I'll stick with their other wonderful dishes, like eggplant Parmesan, pizza, and seafood mix over pasta! read more

Dee our waitress was very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable of the menu. The small spinach white pizza was delicious and was enough to share for 3 of us and we also shared a Greek salad. Had takeout pizza birthday. Large pepperoni ham onion. Lots of toppings When I went in to pick it up I noticed a dessert case in the lobby. Perfect for the occasion. Bella was a refreshing surprise for Bedford Virginia. Coming from New York and Little Italy and living in Washington DC with some of the best restaurants you keep the standard low in a small City like Bedford. It's Covid now so we took take out chicken parmesan sub calzone and eggplant parmesan. The food was excellent. The sauce was rich and robust tasted like homemade and the food was nicely spiced. It reminded me of a Little Italy meal in New York . That's a pretty big compliment. Their Pizza is also good. If you're hungry and you're local to Bedford Virginia it's worth a stop to enjoy good quality Italian food, locally made. By the way they observe the covid protocols. read more

We usually get take out from here almost every week. We've tried many of the items on their menu and everything has been really good and fresh. I love their pizza and garlic knots the best (except I can no longer eat gluten). Hopefully some day they will serve gluten free pizza. My husband loves their calzones.
