I was advised to go to the hospital ER (which happens to be owned by the same company as this urgent care), even though I clearly stated I only needed to see a doctor or nurse practitioner for an eye irritation--not emergency services. If they had seen me here, it would've been a $35 urgent care fee, but going to the ER means paying $200 plus whatever extra charges they add on. It honestly feels like a scam to push more patients toward their ER for higher billing. The employee explained that Blue Cross Blue Shield was "closed on Sundays," but that shouldn't prevent patients from being seen when they need care. Overall, this was a terrible experience. The staff themselves were polite and just following orders, but the system and policies are unacceptable. All the posters about how much they "care" mean nothing when patients are turned away.
