So I rolled the dice and scheduled an appointment with Dominique. I'm glad I did. The haircut was great, she asked questions about my previous haircuts and listened when I answered, and her salon is very relaxing. When I picked up the product, everyone in the salon was so friendly that I contemplated checking her out for a haircut. I wasn't even technically even looking for a new stylist as I really vibin' with the last stylist I visited, but I knew I was never going to allow that stylist color my hair. Kelly doesn't know it, but she literally stole the business right out from underneath another salon just a couple of miles from her. This salon is close to my home but I never knew it existed. I looked for reviews online to mitigate any risks but found very few. Now I know why. She doesn't need any. Apparently other people have known this treasure existed and she is booked out in advance most of the time. I started with a haircut and I completely love what she did. We also discussed my hair color because while I have been playing with my color for 20+ years, there is a LOT I don't know and I still get a lot wrong. I was definitely growing weary of doing my own hair, so in many ways, it would be a blessing to find someone I could trust. It would also be a blessing to find someone whose color errors I didn't have to figure out how to correct! Let me tell you...this gal has mad talent. She reminds me of the very first stylist I ever had many years ago who would take the time to teach me about hair and color. (I love the education!!) For this last appointment, the plan was that I color my own roots as I had been, but they didn't lift like I thought they would. I also had some over-processed pieces and a lot of gold. Needless to say, it would be extremely difficult for me to fix it - and that certainly wouldn't happen on the first try! ( was so glad I had this appointment on the books! Kelly spent quite a bit of time reviewing photos of hair color with me, looking at my current hair status and figuring out where we wanted to go versus where we might land in this single appointment. She literally "heard" what I wanted as well as what I did not want - and then proceeded to get the job done. The end result was beautiful. It was like magic. Somehow, she managed to blend all of the colors together while creating a little bit of subtle dimension. Oh, and the cut? Adorable! She heard me on that front, too. I don't know what it is, but there is something that happens to a female both internally and externally when she has great hair. I felt like a million bucks when I walked out of Kelly's salon...I am delighted to have found her!!

And I am here to tell you that I am not just happy, but THRILLED. Before scheduling my appointment, the folks at Mint asked loads of questions about my likes and dislikes, my hair type, and all sorts of other things. Based on my answers, they paired me with Danielle. And they hit the nail right on the head. After I'd scheduled, she texted me so she could see pictures of my hair now, get a sense of who I was, and more. And when I got there this morning, she took such care to ensure I would walk out of the salon feeling like a million bucks. And that's exactly what happened. I ended up getting my roots bleached and darkened to a dark brunette color (only at the scalp, not all over head, more like a partial highlight) and then a glaze put over my hair to complete the look. My girl had to glaze my hair 3x because it was not getting dark enough. I walked out with no caramel, no auburn and no definition. I spent nearly $183.00 for this service. I called and told them how unsatisfied I was. The next day when I washed my hair - nearly all the glaze washed out and I looked like Ronald McDonald - a nice orange. In all fairness, they offered to correct the color and stated they would put more glaze on it. I told them glaze was not going to get the results I wanted and had consulted 3 other hairstylists who stated glaze was not the answer. I needed a FULL HIGHLIGHT with low lights added as well. There was no other discussion or consultation with a stylist other than who was at the front desk - I was just relayed messages through the Front Desk. I asked about refund since they were not going to offer me anything than a glaze that had already not worked. They said they would only refund me $40 which is the cost of the glaze they thought would correct my hair. So I spent nearly $200 and got $40 back. I did not get what I asked for in the first place. Then I had to go spend another $200 to get my hair color fixed. Due to this poor experience, I had to cancel an appointment for a cut and go somewhere else to get my hair cut as well. I felt I paid high end prices for beginner color services. The Front Desk ladies were very courteous and polite. They apologized for my poor experience. Overall, I do not recommend, although my friend goes to Paige and gets a really sharp cut and color which looks awesome. Not putting my stylist on blast. If you decide to go to Mint and want a color that is complicated - ask for the most experienced colorist.

They assured me that they could do both services, rather than my returning for one of them, and also still have a blow dry. They both worked to do the foil and blow dry, and Frank gave me a beautiful cut. I was done in under two hours and made it home in plenty of time. I can't thank them enough for knowing how to effortlessly provide outstanding customer service, and for their teamwork in giving me such a great experience prior to the important meeting. I highly recommend them to anyone who values kindness, along with their cutting-edge experience in hair, and the entire salon's outstanding customer service. They will take excellent care of you!

Additionally, as another customer mentioned, the stylist didn't ask me how I wanted to style my hair, if I liked the cut, or show me the back -- they just said it looked great and then walked away. The price also was not justified by the cut and overall experience. I was also not happy with the Covid precautions, or lack of. No one wore a mask and they tried to tell me that it's okay b/c "everyone" is vaccinated (but how do they know if all the clients are?) At my normal salon, everyone is masked up and they seat the customers far apart, which was not what happened here. The place also gave a "I am too cool for school" vibe which was alienating, so I will not be returning.

Finding a hairstylist that has experience with extensions and compromised hair is a *must* for me. I started receiving services at Renee's Hair Studio in September 2015 when I moved to the Philadelphia 'burbs and received a glowing recommendation from a salon sales representative. I wish I could give this salon more than 5 stars. The customer service, respect, and overall treatment you receive from this salon are above and beyond. I personally see Budd for all of my hair services, as he is a hair extension expert and just an overall fantastic person. He will help a girl out in a pinch if he can-- I am notorious for waiting last minute to call and get my extensions moved (I called today and I am able to get in this week?! YAS!) I now live 3.5 hours away from Conshohocken and I continue to make the drive to Renee's. Last time I drove through TWO snow storms because I CAN NOT get my weave done by anyone other than Budd.. unacceptable. If that is not a true testament to the validity of this review, then what do you people want from me?!? In full disclosure, I thought about cheating on Budd and Renee's Hair Studio, but once you find a great salon and a fantastic stylist, why change if it is within driving distance?

I decided it needed to be professionally color corrected. I found Brianna after searching reviews for someone highly rated close to where I live. I really lucked out with her. She made a plan and executed it magically. My new brown color and highlights are absolutely beautiful and my hair is so healthy and shiny. Brianna is now the only one who can dye my hair. I'm fired!
