My wife has brown hair. Sometimes she adds subtle red highlights when she goes to the salon. This past week, she went in to get her hair done for a cut and color. She told the girl that she wanted her "normal brown base" with some red highlights. They completely botched the color. She game home literally with orange clown hair. I have the photos to show you the before and after. She paid the salon in full for their butchering. Once I saw how ridiculous she looked I told her, you have to get a refund for this. You didn't ask for this and you look ridiculous. When she returned to the salon she asked for a refund for the color only. Since there was nothing wrong with the cut itself she wasn't trying to deny them of what was due to them. The manager wasn't there at the time, but the other girls who were present winced intensely when showing them the before and after photos. They told my wife, "we'll let the manager know and most likely you will get a refund." Once the manager, Gretchen, got wind of the request she informed my wife that there would be no refund. She is pathetically claiming that my wife asked to look like a clown and was happy when she left the salon. My wife expressed her displeasure in the chair at the salon once the color was first revealed to her. She was told more than once by the girl who butchered it "how great it looked." It looked terrible. To make a mistake that badly and then not have the integrity to own it makes them awful business people to deal with. Gretchen must really need the money badly to refuse a refund on a clearly dissatisfied customer. I advise anyone considering this establishment to beware and reference this incident prior to making any decision. I've known my wife for 20 years and have never in that time seen something so egregious. I'm still in shock that Gretchen Elizabeth did not have the integrity to do the right thing. Keeping your customers coming back is at the forefront of any sound business philosophy. All she did here was lose one customer and potentially more with the negative word of mouth that will follow in the community because of this unfortunate event. read more
