I don't ever post negative reviews, but I had one of the worst manicures I have ever had here. Service was rushed, painful, and poor quality. Started out with my pedicure, when I asked for the water to be colder, she turned on scalding hot water and burned my foot. The nail trimming and filing was aggressive and actually hurt! Polish application was streaky and uneven. My manicure was quite possibly one of the worst I've ever had and they came out possibly looking worse than before. Nails were barely buffed, cuticles were not trimmed cleanly, nail edges nails were not even filed smooth and were left ragged and I needed to finish filing at home! I understand I picked a relatively sheer polish, but the application was so thin and uneven, it looked worse than if I had done it myself. When I asked for a 3rd coat, she refused. Along with your manicure, they give you a neck "massage". This was like aggressive painful torture and resulted in oil dripped all over my shirt. I've never regretted $75 dollars more..... read more

Got a mani/pedi. Upon getting home I saw that my manicure was bubbled & streaky. The color didn't go all the way to my nail bed. My pedicure was also uneven and didn't cover my whole nail bed. Tried to redeem a gift card & they said it was expired. Note: I get many gift cards here a year so this one happened to be 1 yr old. California law states gift cards don't expire. They were definitely short staffed. My mani and pedi were the worst services I have ever received. Pedi was done very poorly. For my mani, the manicurist did not even cleaned my nails or cuticle. Went to get my nails done today. Haven't been to the nail salon in more than six months! Very clean, all workers wearing masks. Felt very safe and my gel manicure and pedicure were done beautifully. For pedicure, they do a hot stone massage that is so soothing. I called before hand to see if I could walk in and be taken care of right away. I was able to and the shop was empty when I arrived. Only one other person came. My mani and pedi took an hour and that included a shoulder, foot/calf and hand/arm massage. Well priced. Very peaceful inside and all the ladies were really nice. They put on dips, acrylic, and gel X so well that I've never had a problem (chips, breaks, infections) nor complaint. I would not recommend this place for a gel manicure. The tech drilled my previous gel manicure down so far I woke up with my fingernails hurting. They are extremely thin that even with the gel on top of them they are bending and extremely frail and I have thick tough nails without polish. I also was knicked a couple times when she was cutting my cuticles and bleeding. The nails also had a curve to them at the end because the nail bed had been drilled down so far. They also were not evenly shaped. I'm usually not picky with my nails but this experience was not good. read more

WOWee!!! Hands down the best service and affordable prices in Marin! This was my first time at this salon and I'm a fan. First off, Holly was meticulous and attentive to my requests. She did a great job on my acrylics making them look very natural. It's hard to find technicians that do acrylics anymore. My husband got a manicure. Only $17 bucks and it lasted over 30 mins and ended with a neck and arm massage. All the clients were very happy and you can tell the relationships were tenured. I felt really valued! Best nail spot I have found in Marin. (May have to round up to five after I give it a few more visits.) I am a fan of the pretty fingers and toes, and must admit since arriving in Marin, it's been tough. I have had mediocre to bad experiences at nail salons from San Rafael to Tiburon to Mill Valley. I've seen some seedy places, polishes that never seem to dry (added acetone). I've arrived at 10 am to an almost empty shop, and been told the next appointment wasn't until the evening. I've been treated to some major mangling of cuticles and over trimming of nails by over zealous salon attendants that apparently want to change the shape of my fingernails (ouch!) As a former city gal used to a deal, I have seen my share of suburban price gouging at places I liked, but just couldn't justify going to on a regular. Finally a place I can get behind! From Essie to Zoya, they have all the good polishes, nice, clean facilities, new magazines, massage chairs, and good prices. The very best thing here is there is the owners were nice (a walk in and they made it happen!) and their end result is long lasting and pretty. They even have kids pricing $25 mani pedis up to 11 years old. They give a outstanding massage that is free with any service (including their simple manicure.) Their attitude is very can do and the results speak for themselves. One major downside is parking around here is challenging. Very. If you don't get one of the coveted 2 hour spots on Sir Frances Drake (out front) which were full when I arrived, your only option is a 40 minute spot on a side street. Forty minutes (weekdays only, weekends it's not a worry) is not enough time for a mani pedi, so I had to choose s single service based on parking limitations. Boy, those Kentfield City Hall folks really don't want people to "stay a while" and enjoy Kentfield businesses. Of coarse, that is not the fault of Bella, but it may put a crimp in your efforts to comfortably come here and sink into the seats and enjoy. read more

I've been here before and was pleased so I went back and unfortunately had a terrible experience. My appointment was for 10:30 and I got there at 10:15 and only one manicurist was there which is fine but then four or five workers came flying in around 10:25. like a hurricane. One of those workers worked on me. Terrible terrible terrible service and rude to top it off. When she was yanking my fingers around taking off polish I asked her if she's too rushed and maybe I should come back later. She said something in a huff to the effect of: if you don't want it then you don't have to. I should have left but felt awkward and I stayed. This manicure is hands down (no pun intended) one of the worst ever. It was rushed, she didn't take off the previous color entirely which was a dark blue, and was mad when she saw I had a broken nail. She wildly filed and cut crooked (felt like Edward scissors hands!), she didn't cover my nails completely with the new polish - it looks awful. Also, I like to have designs polished on a couple of nails so she begrudgingly did it and it looks like it was done by a kindergartener. I now have to go find another salon that's open on Sunday to fix this disaster. Also, no hand massage. Again, she merely roughly "removed" the color, cut, filed, and sloppily applied new color. The only saving grace, if you could call it that, is the receptionist said I don't have to pay. She was nice and she saw the horrible job they did. read more

They rushed my manicure , didn't do a good job, failed to take off all of my existing polish , and then couldn't even do an even/ solid French tip. This cost me $37 plus tip ( looking back, I shouldn't have ) for an uneven, CHIPPING manicure , all within 6 hours ! I was there at 11 this morning and by 4;00 my nails were already chipping . I came back at a later date (a big mistake) and they were once again overtly rude and rushed. The massage was a complete joke. The pedicure was so quick that I walked out without soft skin. I continue to keep coming back here. I can call & get a quick appointment on the weekend. Very pleasant personalities. The vibe in this nail salon is very peaceful. Holly the owner is very accommodating. They always offer drinks (water, tea, etc.) I called 3 other nail salons closer to my hotel and could not get an appointment for hours but Holly gave me one in 15minutes. There were 2 different groups of people who called for appointments then showed up with extra people. Who does that? She expects 4 but then 7 people show up. In terms of polish colors, there is a nice selection of colors (both regular colors & gel). I am never disappointed with the service. Worst fill I've ever gotten. I am NOT by any means a brat when it comes to nails. I ask for a very simple service: a fill for acrylics, square shaping, short and clean. I came in on my hour long lunch break and was kept waiting. When I finally got into the chair, the lady used the wrong tool to remove my gel polish so it took 15 MINUTES to have the polish removed completely. I was then passed off to someone else who cut my nails, filed them, and did the fill. So sloppy and uneven...each nail is shaped differently. Then I was sent to another person who did the polish...did one of my hands, then had to go check someone out at the front and left me sitting there for over 5 minutes. I had to politely tell her I have to get back to work so if you could please finish with me, that would be great. She said sorry that they're so busy (there were 2 other ladies besides myself). $30, plus a tip, and over an HOUR later (just for a fill!!), I left feeling frustrated and irritated. Also, they only accept cash tips. Upon leaving, nails were unevenly shaped, the polish was sloppy; I will not come back. Update: I'm looking at my credit card statement online, and I was charged twice for this service. This happened because the receipt paper was out so she scanned my card twice but ASSURED me that I would not be charged. I'm furious. The crappy nails have now turned into a whole ordeal for me to handle to get my money back. Just ridiculous. read more
