So, I reached out to them via Yelp to see if they could get me in that same day since I had a flight to catch the next day and they were very accommodating. Tatum is the BEST! I got spray tanned before my wedding by Tatum and I loved the results. First off, I had some weird tan lines from the summer that she was somehow able to blend and disappear them. Let me tell you, this week I am one hot mess. I have been dealing with drama at work, a contractor, four grumpy geriatric dogs, and getting ready to go out of the country for a week, so I'm a little frazzled. I looked down at my legs last week and was OMG WTF I CANNOT be seen like that, so.........I decided to go for my first-ever airbrush tan. I let my fingers do the walking to Yelp and found Lucky Bumble and made a lunchtime appointment. How big of a mess was I? I realized, once I pulled up to Chiara's beautiful spot, that I had left my wallet at work. And thus did not have my credit card. Nor change or a card for the meter. Being what I consider a good client, I didn't want to flake, so I scraped up three dimes from my car's catchall, bought myself 12 minutes on the meter, and ran upstairs to apologize for having forgotten my credit card and to ask if we could reschedule. And do you know what happened? Chiara told me not to worry about it and we'd figure it out later (mind you, I am not a longtime, returning client and she did not know me from Adam - er, Eve) and then SHE GAVE ME CHANGE FOR THE METER. Are you KIDDING me?! If that isn't customer service, I don't know what is. She made me go from frothing and frantic to chill and relieved with these simple acts of kindness. We then sat and had a chat about what look I was going for (as well as the really pretty and interesting space that Lucky Bumble is now in; it's SO. COOL.) and we decided on a medium tone with a vanilla scent. After that, I got my kit off (I'm not shy) and stepped into the TeePee of Golden Deliciousness (the little tent you stand in while she works on you) and emerged looking like I'd gotten some healthy color on a Caribbean beach, not been panicking on the mean streets of San Rafael. She then dusted me off to blend me in, gave me instructions, and let me pay with just my card number in hand (good thing I keep that in my email; pro tip), and sent me on my way. By the next day my color had developed beautifully and now I'm looking at yet another addicting beauty habit to add to the routine - Thanks, Chiara (said to the tune of 'Thanks, Obama!)! Everything about this place is perfect! The ambiance is like a cute little beach bungalow that makes you never want to leave and the staff are by far the coolest. I got an eyebrow wax and lash tint from Christina and I couldn't be more pleased! The wax didn't hurt nearly as much as it did at other places and the lash tint really made my eyes pop! The spray tan is by far the best I've ever had! No streaks and no orange! Chiara blends the wrists and other hard areas so your streak free and with added scents, no more stinky post spray wait. I went in for a Brazilian sugaring last week with Tesa, and I'm fully in love with sugaring now. I've been to Tesa twice now, and she has a very calming/soothing energy, which is perfect for this experience of being sugared. Much less painful than traditional waxes, especially when you can keep up with the new hair growth, and seems to be less harmful to the hair follicles. Tesa is a total pro, who always finishes way quicker than I think she is going to. Also Lucky Bumble has to be one of the most gorgeously decorated salons I've been to in a while! read more

I've been meaning to write a review for Lucky Bumble for some time now. It's the cutest place in downtown San Rafael. I wish my apartment was as cute as this place. With the super hip decor, fun books to read while you wait, an assortment of candies and beverages and toiletries of all sorts to use in their bathroom, I sometimes just show up early just to hang! I've seen Tatum for my organic spray tans a few times now. She is super professional and makes you feel incredibly comfortable. She pays so much attention to detail and keeps specific notes on what color she's used and how many coats. I don't think I'll ever be able to go anywhere else. I also just recently got sugared for the first time with Tesa. She was absolutely amazing as well. Getting your nether regions sugared/waxed can be a very uncomfortable and awkward experience, yet she made it as comfortable as possible. Explaining every detail to me, why it's better than waxing and also telling me stories about her past experiences helped me take my mind off of the pain. I have now referred two friends to Lucky Bumble and I won't stop! read more

The worst customer service ever. The owner Chiara did not want to honor a tan package I had purchased with her when she was a private renter at The Beauty Nook., she never kept consistent hours to even book a tan & the I could not use the certificates. When she parted "The Beauty Nook", she never sent an email or contact of her new place of business. When I learned where she was & back in business under another business name, Chiara avoided all messages never returned my calls then finally had her receptionist call me & say yes my daughter could use my spray tans I had purchased but never used. There is no expiration, she never said there were any exclusions or not transferable. So my daughter used one of three tans I had & when she returned for the 2nd tan AFTER she sprayed her she said she could not use my tan certificate! My daughter reluctantly paid, what was she to do & left crying! We will never patronized the Luck Bumble again! It's not about her ability to spray tans, she does do a good spray tan, it's about good business manors. She lacks in that respect when you won't honor your sales. Besides you never can find parking on 4th Street! read more

Finding lucky bumble can be a little tricky :) their door is next to viva diva and an art galley! But once you come up the stairs it's like finding a lost gem or a treasure chest! I have been to so many places and have left unsatisfied, with a tan that fades in 2-3 days leaving me looking streaked/blotchy. My tan from Chiara lasted a week, and the best part is that she infuses the tanning solution with your choice of essential oil (I chose the cherry blossom) so you aren't left with that awful spray tan smell that seems to linger.
