I've been airbrush tanning for about 8 years and this has been the best place I have ever found. I've tried places in Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica and Bella Sol does a superior job. Okay, its probably all due to Candy, who is super friendly and personable (always a plus when you have to strip down for a tan). But its the most even tan I have ever had. She takes the time to make sure she dries the areas that were just sprayed to ensure an even tan. The only con is the parking lot. Its located behind the location (I turn into the Tuesday Morning parking lot and drive to the alley behind to get to the lot.). The lot is small and I've always gotten a spot but on a couple of occasions its been the last spot. Will definitely continue going here. read more

This review is long over due, but if you're new to the salon or in need of a great stylist, I highly recommend Joan! She's super down to earth, and makes you feel at home each visit. There's never a dull moment and it's never awkward with her. I've been going to her for years and it's safe to say that I will be returning! Joan takes great pride in her work, and it's clear that she knows what she's doing. I'm quite hard to please and quite frankly, I come in with different ideas each time. Joan has exceeded my expectations whether it's a simple layered cut, to straight across bangs, or even my long bob; I love everything she's done to my hair. Personally, I like to experiment with color, and Joan is simply the best! Anything from ombré, to highlights, to balayage, she's done on me, and wow. Most recently, I decided to go purple, and you cannot believe how many compliments I've gotten on my hair. I'll first start by saying I have not stepped inside a salon in 3 years (aside from a blow out only salon). I was reluctant, but I knew it needed to happen. I ended up purchasing something at a silent auction where the owner donated an awesome basket which had so many products plus $100 to Bella Sol. I looked up the salon and it had amazing reviews, so I knew this was the place to go to get my first haircut in forever. I made an appointment with Tina. I showed up, super nervous, parking in the free lot in the back and waited. Tina was SO sweet and really helped calm my nerves. She gave me a great cut and color. We chatted about her family (shes Armenian) and also hair upkeep. I promised I wouldn't wait that long ever again. I'll most definitely be back to the salon and to see Tina soon. LURDES IS GOD'S GIFT TO PEOPLE IN NEED OF A TAN!! Let me start off by saying I was a little nervous. I wanted to get a spray tan because I was going to Mexico and didn't want to look so white, but didn't want to look orange either . I got a spray tan a few months ago at another studio and wasn't exactly thrilled with the suuuper dark, sloppy orangish results :( I found Lurdes via yelp and I couldn't be more happy with my decision! I got a spray tan from Lurdes last night and couldn't wait to post this!!!!! She is amazing, a true artist who takes pride in her work. I'm absolutely in love with This Salon! I'm not from this area... Just moved here recently. And finding a stylist was nearly impossible! I went to another salon in the Monrovia area and spent over $400 with just 2 visits.... Let me explain. I have blonde hair. Now my fellow blondes will know that it takes a very special and talented stylist to mix and implement the varieties of "blonde".... With that being said, I will not bash another stylist. She even offered a refund which wasn't necessary! Very prompt and responsive customer service. Original review: I called about 9:30a for a day-of early afternoon styling and they got me in, so that was good! My stylist, Crystal, was sweet and nice. I didn't come in with a specific style, but had some ideas. The tanning was good! I've never tanned ever before first time ever. It was one heck of a great experience. I gotta admit I was a bit scared at first but just dove right to it. Saw Joan once for a cut and color, and it was okay. Went back a 2nd time hoping to get a bit closer to what I wanted, but when I arrive she acted like she was meeting me for the first time. She mistakenly didn't book enough time for our appointment (because she didn't look back at my prior service), and somehow that was my fault. Who doesn't look at their notes to remember a client and their prior service? She acted irritated and rushed, saying "Let's just do this quick." Didn't inspire a lot of confidence in her or the job she was about to do, so I left and won't be returning. Many better options in the area. read more

I was somewhat I dissatisfied with the services received at this salon. This place looks clean but I'm not to sure about hygiene. For example, while you are being sprayed, you stand on a used black towel. The salon doesn't use Spray Tanning Sandals or tacky paper to stand on. They didn't have a place to keep your personal items while you are being sprayed. It's all in one room and when they spray the chemicals are airborne. I told the person that I didn't want my face sprayed. She insisted that even if she sprayed my neck the chemicals wouldn't get sprayed on my face yet I showered her that my jaw and chin were sprayed . I told her that my face is sensitive and she assured me that her face was sensitive also and that when her face gets sprayed she's fine. I wish they offered spray tanning masks. I told her that I didn't want my hands sprayed and asked for disposable gloves. She said that they didn't have any. She assure me that the paint wouldn't go on my hands because when she uses the spray gun paint doesn't go on her hands. I thought that was odd. I told her to ask the hair stylist if she could borrow a pair of gloves. I wore them and found that even though she didn't directly spray my hands chemicals still landed on gloves. I asked for disposables underwear but they only had razor small bikini underwear. They didn't offer hairnets either. I like to get spray tans but I also like to keeping solutions off certain parts of my body and I like protecting my hair. This place is conveniently located if you're in the south PASADENA area but I wouldn't recommend it as the place to go unless it was an emergency!!! read more

This review is partly for the salon, and party for my stylist, Joan. She had recently moved from another salon to this place. The move is an upgrade for sure, as this salon has a more elegant feel than the other one. There is always good energetic music in the background that is not too loud so you can actually have a conversation with your stylist. The staff seems very happy every time I come in. The shampoo chairs are also massaging, and the stations themselves seem to be very well designed with a clean and minimalist feel. Best of all, free parking in the back of the salon! Joan is an awesome stylist for men (although I know she does everything else too). She is very thorough with her work and it always turns out amazing for me. Cako is my hair GURU!! I have been a loyal customer of hers for years now, and absolutely adore her. Why is she so amazing...let me list the ways: 1. She REALLY knows what she's doing...I usually have an idea of what I want, but she shapes it into a 'good' idea...i.e. something that would actually look good on me. And always does it in such a nice way, always boosting my mood & my confidence! 2. She is just the sweetest person, and I love talking to her. Love this place and only come to Cako to get my hair did and cut. I have been trying a ton of salons in the area and and am soo happy I found Cako, she is the best at styling and cutting my hair. I always get a great cut from her and am never disappointed (really no lie!). She gets it and i love talking to her, and yes the chairs where you get your hair washed are awesome, never experienced anything like it. So if you want a guaranteed great cut /style go to Cako, can't recommend her enough she is my have and sad I didn't find her before. I have been going to Bella Sol tanning for years now and thought that it was finally time to write a review! The staff is always friendly and polite. I come in the evenings after work and Joseph is always so nice! Today I finally met the manager Candy and she is a doll! It's always nice walking into a place where the staff knows you by name. They are also informative of the products being sold and you can tell that they just aren't trying to sell you the product with the highest price point. I have never had a bad experience at this salon. I know that it's always clean and updated. I've been to tanning salons where you can tell the machines are outdated and look a little too used. I never have to question hygiene at this salon. I have referred friends and clients to Bella Sol since they were on Holly St. and they still continue to visit Bella Sol for their tanning needs and you should too! read more

I have had 2 great spray tan experiences from Kandy. She is the best! I do think the price for a airbrush spray tan is too high. I think a good spray tan these days should not be more that $50.00. If their pricing was more competitive I would tan more often. I know they offer packages but I am not looking to buy 10 tans at a time. I think it would be great if they reevaluated their airbrush tanning pricing structure. Otherwise I love the color and the service so they still deserve 5 stars. read more

Natalie is the one to see for amazing blonde highlights. Very natural looking. In fact, the color matches my childhood blonde (Mom saved a lock of it). I searched for a colorist for a long time before finding Natalie. I tried several of the expensive Beverly Hills salons, the colorists that are written up in Allure magazine, and even Kim Vo (who is terrific, but his salon is such a hassle). So happy I found Natalie, and she does great haircuts, too. This review is for the WONDERFUL spray tan experience I had with Kandy. I was a complete tanning newbie before coming to Bella Sol and found the place based on its stellar reviews. I could not be more in agreement with all the great things that have already been said about Kandy and her tanning expertise. The service was off to a great start when Kandy greeted me in a warm and friendly way and began asking me what my reasons were for getting a tan, what color I wanted to achieve, my background with tanning etc. She took the time to get to know me, explained the entire process to me, and made me feel comfortable and well cared for. Kandy's professionalism and talent really showed during the tanning session itself. She took me to the tanning room, which was very clean, well-lit, and private. She took her time with every stroke and dried the tanning solution after she applied each stroke in order for the solution to soak in better. I changed my mind between going from light-medium to medium and Kandy happily obliged. I asked her not to spray my face and she did not. She asked if I wanted any areas sprayed a bit darker, and we both decided on doing more color on my legs and arms. Kandy treated me as if I was a friend or regular client, and I was so happy with how everything went. Now, 12+ hours & a shower after the spray tan, I could not be more pleased with the results. The Infinity Sun Airbrushing that they use is of the highest quality. My skin is usually pretty sensitive, but I have had no problems. More importantly, there is no orange tint or streaky lines - the tan looks a completely natural golden-brown, like i just got back from a vacation in the sun!
