I visited Sugar + Bronzed on 5/26 for a full Brazilian sugar wax, and unfortunately this experience was my last straw. After my appointment, I discovered there was still a significant amount of hair left on my labial area, which should absolutely be included in a full Brazilian service. I didn't notice it immediately because I have a busy schedule and didn't thoroughly check the area right away, but once I did, it was obvious that the service was incomplete. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is not the first time this has happened. In fact, it has happened multiple times, and I've continued to overlook it and give the company another chance. This time, however, I called a few days later to explain the issue and ask about having it corrected. I was told I would need to pay half the price of another Brazilian to have the missed hair removed. As a paying customer, I don't believe I should have to pay extra to have a service completed correctly when I already paid for a full Brazilian. Customers shouldn't be charged additional money because hair was missed during the original appointment. Instead, there should be better quality control and training to ensure technicians are thoroughly removing all hair included in the service. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was the tipping process. The way the tip options are presented starting at 18% can make customers feel obligated or pressured to tip a certain amount. Tipping should always be a personal choice, and customers should feel like they have clear options without any pressure or guilt attached. Ladies, don't be afraid to speak up if you're unhappy with your service. You're paying for a service and deserve to receive what you paid for. I rarely leave negative reviews, but after experiencing the same issue repeatedly and then being told I would have to pay more to fix it, I felt compelled to share my experience. I've been to a few locations so far, and this is probably my favorite one. I usually go in for my brazilian at another spot, and while that location is great too, this place made me feel especially welcome. Honestly, the professionalism and technique the sugarista used were above and beyond anything I've experienced elsewhere. That being said, the process did feel a bit rushed (this could also be a good thing for some!), but that seems to be the norm across all their locations, since it's a chain and I'm sure they book things very close to one another. Nonetheless, they still do a really good job of being thorough and making sure you're comfortable and okay throughout the entire service. I haven't tried many of their other services aside from being subscribed to their monthly sugaring package, but based on my experience, I'd definitely recommend coming here for whatever you need. read more

9/2/25 apt for 10am, I arrived at 10:09, not greeted kindly, but instead greeted very rudely "'we can only do 1/4 of your service"(paraphrasing) or move you to a 11:40am" I said I'd wait to see if next person even showed. Keep in mind it was empty, only one tech and the entire place was a ghost town... but she couldn't see me at 10:09. I then decided I didn't want to stay at this location at all. Bad vibes. Sugaring is such a private matter last thing you want is someone who is rude or passive aggressive. So I switched my apt to a different location, they helped me do that, at least...so Ty for that... & mind you at the new location the entirety of my appointment took 8 mins with breaks in between because I'm pregnant. This was my first time getting a spray tan. I wanted to test it out a month before my wedding. I'm Taiwanese and am very lightly tanned and wanted a sun-kissed look and to even out my existing tan lines. Though #1 seemed like the shade I was aiming for, I tried #2, thinking I would rather see how dark it is than regret going too light the first time. Alexis was so lovely and made me feel comfortable through the whole process. #2 seemed just right for my face and neck but I think the rest of my body is a little too dark for my likely. This review is for my first visit to S+B for my first spray tan ever. Ever? Yeah, you guessed it: it's the week of my wedding. Will this be my last spray tan? Probably. The space is super clean and the staff were very friendly. While there was some baseline instruction on where to put my things and how to stand, I was mostly disappointed by the lack of explanation about the application itself and what to expect as a first-timer - especially knowing that this was for my wedding. The info card handed out after the session matches what's on the website, neither of which really go into enough detail as to what's been put on your body, or emphasized just how unbelievably careful you have to be with the aftercare. After following all of the instructions and doing the recommended 8 hour shower, I wore a loose sports bra 16 hours post-session and there are already lines from where the tan wore off. A day later, I'm left wondering if I'm missing something or if this is really just the breaks of spray tanning. It feels like a lot of fuss and room for error with the end result. I would say 3.5 for overall spray tan. (I am a pretty experienced spray tanner and it was my first time at this location and found it because I desperately wanted an organic spray tan that was nearby where I lived)-- I see that a lot of the reviews for this location are for sugaring and first time spray tans. (Noteable points for my 1st spray tan here -- April 2024): -- 1) this is a chain and very easy to book online or through phone. it is clean and cutely decorated. --2) cost is 55$ (fairly priced which is why I chose it) --3) hours are open late. -- open 10am-11PM (another reason I chose it). Good for working girlies as most boutique spray tan locations are open until 6/7PM latest. --4) there is only 1 spray option (sometimes there are 2 options like one is rapid 1 hour tan that you pay a little more for and another is the regular which can vary from 3 hours to 8 hours) --- sugared + bronzed are all max 3 hours was off which isn't bad. I just have been to boutique options that allow 1 hour rapid and it gets super dark quickly. --5) which level to get? = I was going to get level 2 based on reviews but my spray associate told me to get level 3 before cancun which i deeply appreciated because it was just enough darkness of a glow!! thank you Ty. The bad for me is that I noticed I got some orange spots the next day. (Not right after washing off but the next morning. I noticed on my hands, all over the front and sides and also on parts of my inner thigh/toosh area). This hasn't ever happened and I would say I've spray tan over 20x before for events and also self spray tan. (I did see other reviewers say this which I was hesistant but the hours fit my heavy work schedule....) (Overall): -- Try it for your first time spray tanning (I wouldn't do it before a big event, just try to see if it works for you before that event) --- but for experienced spray tan girlies...I'm not sure if you would want to try this. I would recommend paying 20$ more for a customized organic spray tan as they will provide disposable underwear, foot sole protectors and hair nets for free and a customized color for you! (They upcharge all that I stated for at least 1$ each and I think flip flops were 3$?)... I will probably not be returning which is a bummer as I am moving very close to this location. I even tipped 10$. It is a 5 star for service -- the young ladies were always sweet and helpful when I called. But service isn't enough with orange spots that can appear. Love it here! Once I switched to sugaring I was happy to come here and find that with monthly membership prices are on par. It's cute, clean, and easy to get in. I love the extended hours! I honestly prefer them most times since the parking can be challenging depending on the time of day. Staff is always AMAZING! The girls are always friendly and knowledgeable. I learn new tips and tricks just about every time, and have incorporated some of the suggestions and love them. I've had issues w the monthly subscription sometimes it says it can't charge my card when funds are available. That and parking are my only "gripe" but I love it, it's quick and easy. It's been a year since my last Brazilian sugar so I was in dire need. I trimmed before the appointment thinking it would be too long (and thus break instead of being pulled out by the root) but I made it too short! They very kindly rescheduled me to later in the week. When I came back, some hairs were still a bit short and the esthetician let me know. I said let's go ahead and get the bulk of it out, I'm fine being slightly patchy. In the end the leftover hairs are barely noticeable, she still did an amazing job! The service was very straightforward and relatively quick. She made conversation to help distract from the pain and frequently checked in and offered breaks (I opted to power through). At the end she cleaned up the sticky leftovers with a cold towel and moisturized the area - something the last place I went to in San Francisco completely skipped! I was very thankful to not have to stick to my underwear. They also sent me home with some fact pamphlets about before/after care and maintenance which I really appreciated. Places say a bunch of things to me and I forget almost immediately. I don't remember the names of the estheticians that actually worked on me, but I interacted with maybe 4 or 5 different ones through both the check in process and the service itself, and they all seem very kind and welcoming. I'd be confident going back to any of them. Oh also parking - it's tight but you can get into the lot in the back off of Shopper's Lane if you have an early appointment (like before 11am). Otherwise the garage at the big office building (80 South Lake) is only $4 an hour or something - just it's cash only. There's a close by wells fargo atm though. There are some other paid lots and street parking in the area otherwise. Tl;dr this is the best sugaring place I've been to and would recommend to anyone, especially first timers. Also don't trim before your appointment, just trust them to handle whatever's going on. read more

The vibe here has changed since when I first started going here years ago and you never know if you're going to walk in and be kindly greeted or rudely greeted, and same goes for the technicians. Some are really great and take their time and make sure they get everything off with sugaring, while others go extremely fast and sloppy leaving lots behind. This is especially frustrating because if you do get one of the good ones, they don't allow you to ask for the same person again so you can't specifically request someone! So the lack of consistency is what made me finally move on from this location. Same goes with spray tanning- while my last spray tan came out okay, the technician was not very friendly and seemed like she did not enjoy her job... when you're standing in front of someone who's a stranger and you're pretty much fully exposed like that, it's really uncomfortable if they're not putting out friendly vibes. Not helping with the awkwardness of a spray tan. Anyways, this location seems to need some work with consistency and friendliness because you never know when you're going to get it, and I feel bad that the ones that are really great can't get the credit they deserve because they don't allow you to select who you want to book with. Also, the parking situation at this location is tough and while they have a very small lot in the back for customers, they keep the back entrance door locked and you have to walk all the way around, which takes some time, or you have to park on the street and pay for parking. While that's a given for this area and expected, it would be helpful if they could be a little nicer if you're say only ONE minute late- if you are they will often text you and ask if you're still coming sometimes literally at the moment of your appointment time or if you're only one or two minutes late and I find it very frustrating that I'll have to say yes just parking or walking in when I'm literally one minute late. They are all also not friendly about the text and even if it's a minute or two late, they already start asking if you need to reschedule- like calm down I'm walking to you because you can't allow us to come in the back so I'm walking all the way around. And as someone who has worked in a similar industry when younger, I understand that keeping the back locked is a safety precaution, however, almost all the other businesses allow access through their back doors and it seems that since they have no problem texting constantly, they could allow us to maybe where you text that you have arrived and they could let you in the back door or do something to be a little bit more accommodating because this location not accommodating. I really hope management considers some changes in the future and I have talked to friends who have stopped coming to this location for the very same reasons I have mentioned here. read more
