We had an excellent meal! It is a little odd that it's above a Mexican restaurant, but once we found it, ohmygosh, was it worth it. We had the meatballs appetizer - delicious! Warm, crusty bread. They bake it to order. Don't rush it. Be patient. The eggplant parm was the best I ever had. The entire table agreed. I also had the bean soup - smoky and hearty. Another at our table had the carbonara. He loved it. Everyone at our table loved their meal and we heard similar comments from others at nearby tables. First time trying Bella Vino & Cucina. We did take out and the food was delicious. We ordered chicken parmigiana, linguine bolognese, chicken franchise, fried calamari and bruschetta with spaghetti with red sauce as side dishes. My wife has been on a search for the perfect meatball sub every where we go. Her search is over with Bella Vino...!!! It is the BEST meatball sub she has found in FL! -- wonderful, crusty, home made bread. -- toasted nicely. -- great meatballs. -- just the right amount of sauce...not too much...yet comes with a small dish of extra sauce in case you're wanting a saucier meatball sub. Thoroughly satisfying. Their chicken parm sub is equally delicious--and Both reasonably priced. We arrived in a Thursday at 4p. The door was locked. Inquired at their sister restaurant ( Mexican cuisine) below who said it should be open. She ran up the stairs and opened the door. We're happy we didn't leave. We were there only ones there for 30 minutes. Afternoon Wait staff did not seem to have arrived yet--so service was started by the downstairs receptionist... Consequently, service was somewhat wanting but e we were quite happy with our meal. Thursdays they have a live trio playing after 5. Being from the Philadelphia area, we are spoiled when it comes to Italian restaurants. We are not satisfied unless the food, the service and the atmosphere are up to par. Loved being able to hear the Italian music. Our first visit to Balla Vino was excellent. Best bread we have had in any SW Florida restaurant. Chopped Italian salad, topped with burrata was amazing. Mussels white were plump, cooked perfectly and swimming in an incredible white sauce. They even unlocked the secret of slightly thickening the sauce so it stuck to the mussels. The Mexican Italian theme is a bit odd but ok. Restaurant was basically empty with two employees - a chef and bartenders/waitress/hostess. She was very nice but had some trouble either taking down the order or communicating to chef. 3 of the 4 orders were sent back as incorrect. Consequently it was a long dinner. Probably won't be back. They should have responded with an offer of a complementary drink or dessert for the headache, which we would have declined. Wish them them the best. read more

We went to Bella Vino & Cucina with great anticipation, unfortunately we were disappointed. We brought our family from out of town, we ordered calamari as one of our appetizers. When it arrived it was such a small portion, rubbery at a very high price for the portion we got. Next the stuffed shells weren't cooked, still crunchy from being undercooked. Another ordered chicken piccata which was pretty good. The other pasta dishes were ice cold. So many excellent Italian restaurants in town, if they don't step up their game they are never going to make it. read more

Advise for the owner and chef. Owner should be ashamed of himself for trying to pass off what was served to me a quality meal. My shrimp parm was disgusting. The shrimp was clearly frozen and purchased from Publix grocery store. My advise would take control of your business and implement some quality control measures, as your restaurant won't be around much longer if improvement are not made ASAP. Your Chef should definitely consider a new career path, because he's not cutting it as a chef. There were 5 adults dining at our table and no one was satisfied with their meals. read more

Poor service. Both myself and my wife did not get meals the way we ordered. Did not refill water. Had to repeat request for bread. Server needed help on tabulating our bill. Also added fee of 4% for charge card. I think the charge card companies charge the vendor 1 1/2%. The food was ok not great . My veal was a bit overdone. Won't go back. read more

Great ambiance, service and menu selections. Great hot bread also! We had the sausage and peppers and the eggplant. Homemade pasta was delicious. Easy to find right off 41 northbound. Support local business! Dana our server was very kind and helpful with menu selections. We will be back. They have outside dining as well with fresh basil plants at each table. Really good place for dinner, we don't like everything in general, but we liked everything at this place. It was our first time here and we thought the service was great. The bread was perfect. We had a pizza as an appetizer and ate all of it. The kids had spaghetti and meatballs and ate it all. I would recommend the Penne a la vodka and the lasagna as well. The only thing I would change is that this place is trying for authentic Italian with fresh made pasta and that was good but if you are authentic then you need to bring out a block of parmasean cheese and grater and not pre- grated parmasean. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place . The wait staff is great. However we were a party of 4. Three meals arrived after 20 minutes of ordering. The 4th meal didn't arrive until 10 minutes later. Visited Bella Vino on a Saturday night-our first time. We thoroughly enjoy the restaurant. We had just returned from a trip to Rome where we took a cooking class. One of the courses we cooked were stemmed artichokes prepared in the Roman style. Bella Vino has this on the menu for an appetizer and it was delicious. For an entree I had pasta with garlic and oil (aglio e olio) it was the best I ever had. My husband had chicken scarpriello and he loved it. Restaurant is nice with white tablecloths on the table. Also, it was not noisy which I enjoyed immensely. Staff was great-bartender makes a great espresso martini. Definitely will go back. Our only suggestion, which we discussed with the owner is beefing up their italian wine list by including more choices besides pino grigio,etc. read more
